I assumed Kyubey was the name all Incubators used so that even if they end up in different locations, they still appear to be just one single entity. Referring to themselves as a species, or otherwise leaving hints that suggest there are more than one, makes it easier for prospective magical girls to realise that there's some kind of agenda going on. Which there is. One that would make most of them less likely to agree to the contract.

I was thinking that earlier today, (As opposed to last night my timezone) but I like to think they all spell it differently.
Like: Kyubey, QB, Cuebee, Qubie, Qby, etc.

All the Incubators outside of Japan spell it with a Q, but Kyubey tries too hard to be cool.

And on that day Kei took the dubious honour of being the first character in this roleplay to suffer an on-stage injury.

Woo.

Anyway, she's not hurt very much; She's just got a lump on her head, a stubbed foot, and a few grazes from the ground. Also, for the record, I usually intend for her spoken text to be in the language it's written in, but in this case it doesn't matter either way, because the important thing is that she's embarrassed and feels like shit.

I'm probably gonna go to sleep early tonight (by which I mean before 5 am when everything seems to happen) so I'll just float the comment here that if it's possible for Cleopatra to get back on those replacement wishes with feedback and such, I'd appreciate it.

@Cleopatra hey, what about my character and reroll?

Too, just in case that was overlooked.
Sorry for being annoying with this comment, just not sure if anything was missed or if it's an issue of not having had a chance to respond.

Oh but white maging isn't balanced. :/
Jeez, the auto aim, inability to get close, control of other magical entities, multiple ways to make a target unable to do literally anything, a very long ranged version of her ability that makes her almost impossible to hit with melee, and oly at 6 ToF? No way. Nuhuh. She was more balanced before... How was that considered balanced?
Still, gonna be interesting. Can't wait to see her in the IC.

I'm just a bystander, but it seemed like the justification for that was less "wow OP" and more "this goes against the RP's themes and won't work the way you want it to with the RP mechanics".

@DarkwolfX37 now, it is op, I know that. However, my original idea was teleportation and minor soul manipulation.

Cleo was a driving force of pretty much all of those abilities, and I just worded it in a way that fit, and altered stuff for ease of use.

And, most of these abilities manifested AFTER killing Yui, along with her bloodlust. Despair just follows.

Though, the Witches kiss and binding were all my idea, Cleo had me reword them in different ways to make them a bit more balanced.

I know. I understand why it doesn't work, I'm just getting the annoyance out now instead of letting it fester inside me. Very thematic, now that I think about it. :P
And the part I forgot to say was how Megumi can purify her despair by killing magical girls but not by grief seeds is okay, but >insert the venting already done.<

@Vocab
I personally prefer the teleportation, but that's irrelevant.
Right.
Right.
In my mind the most problematic part is really that it can self-spread.

@DarkwolfX37 she CAN use grief seeds, but they don't remove her despair, mainly because the despair she gained from killing Yui is too mentally engrained into her to be removed through conventional MG means.

Teleportation didn't really work for the wish she had, even though it would have been interesting.

It only spreads through Familiars, which have to be captured first and then taken control of.

Who knows, I might just take this one >:D

Why would you design or approve it, then, knowing that nobody else is going to find it fun to play against?

Op isn't necessarily unfun. I think it'll be fun because finding ways around it will be.

Suit yourself, but I don't consider 'overpowered' to be synonymous with 'currently the most powerful thing around'. Megumi is op because if she uses her powers carefully- And she's stated very clearly to be a blazingly smart character- there aren't ways around.

I mean, unless there are, in which case teach me your ways.

@Antarctic Termite now, since when would it be anything but fun?

Who knows, I might end up having Cleo devise a way to negate the abilities effects; sort of like a Franklin Badge.

And, I went with it as an idea mainly because it worked well for the wish, gave a great reason for her despair, and let me be a semi-antagonist/anti-hero.

Those are my favourite kinds of characters, so it made sense.

I like playing op characters, as I'm sure most do, but if Cleo hadn't suggested a new ability type to compliment the character at hand, I likely wouldn't be PLAYING this character.

Plus, it'll be fun to watch everyone else's character go insane, die, or try and beat her ^_^

No character here is unbeatable. Don't think of it like a linear scale, think of it like rock-paper-scissors. Every character here is countered by at least one other character's powerset, from where I'm standing.

@vocab I have so much to say in reply to that response, but instead, I'm going to go to bed.

We'll address all the problems when they start to sting and in the meanwhile I'll just shut right the fuck up.

Ac-tu-al-ly, @Cleopatra, can I get a ToF/EXP/Despair roll for a character? Entertaining the idea of making something fresh, but it'll depend on the numbers.

Depending on which if either of my two replacement wishes gets accepted, I'll have a minimum of two and a maximum of four ways around all of Megumi's abilities.

I'll look over yours in more detail if you want once you get back on. I'm sure I can find ways she can win. I'm used to dealing with characters considered OP.
