Apparently the Casual Section is for fan-fiction roleplays and those based off very popular shows that shouldn't have that large of a Fanbase. And yet everyone jokes about Free being like this.

Advanced Master Race.

I say this while I'm only in RPs about reimagining comic book characters, oddly enough.

You'll find that Casual has a very wide range of standards. Some are nearly Free-style and others have Advanced writers in them. Fandoms and things of that nature are popular because the worlds exist already and you just have to plop a character into it. I prefer original work but those are more difficult to build and promote I suppose.

I never said it didn't, I was just explaining why those are so popular. In all three categories it's true.

Free is just the retarded puppy of RPG. Lovable but you know...retarded.

For the most part. Certainly more than any other section.

Except it has the widest range of original stuff based on cliches. Like a retarded puppy that likes fucking vampires.

No, no, no. it's like the RpG equivalent of Chatroulette. It has no retardation, it just humps everything.

I think the reason why Advanced seems to have more of the 'original' roleplays is because the people there generally have more patience.

Like Idle said, fandom roleplays are popular because they're easier to get going than an original RP; less effort required from the GM to build a world, and less effort required from the players to understand whatever world the GM creates. The more original an idea is, the harder it is to find people with whom the idea not only makes sense but is also interesting, whereas with fandom RP's, the idea already exists and people are already interested in it.

So I think that since Advanced is known for being the section with the length and quality standards, people enter Advanced knowing they're going to be required to do more, which is why you generally get people with the most patience, and so the more original ideas get a better chance of survival and don't have to lack in number compared to the already advantaged fandom RP's.

For the love of all that is good and holy on the Internet (i.e. not much), please tell me this is not a pun.

I tend to avoid Advanced because I honestly don't have time for that length of post every day, but when I've read other RPs in Advanced out of curiosity I've noticed that the quality isn't often actually any higher than 'High Casual' RPs I've been in, if not lower. So perhaps it's the higher proportion of original RPs versus fandom RPs that separates it from many better-quality Casual RPs... it'll be interesting to see how the different 'levels' establish themselves now they've been rebooted in 'Newguild'.

I've always found it to be like this.

Free has the better RP/Plot Ideas and Themes.

Casual has the better roleplayer's to take an RP and make it fun and interesting.

@Artic, yes it is a pun. I like word play and puns.

And I have to disagree with Morgan Freeman this time.
