[IC] Academy of heroes and villains: a new year

Zack looked down at the dark skinned girl. He smiled at her. He had thought he might have seen her around but he didn't think that he had actually ever talked to her. With the size of the academy that wasn't that surprising. He jumped down so that they didn't have to shout to talk. He landed gracefully beside her. "We like to be in the trees. We grew up in the forest. Plus you can see most of the school from up there." He explained.

Kijani smiled up at him. "Oh, it was lovely. I visited everything, I learned a lot... I even got to tour Wakanda for a few days. It's mind-blowing. No wonder they keep the place well guarded." She'd wanted to bring a camera and take pictures, but there was a strict rule against private cameras. The guards looked seriously well trained, and as Kijani didn't want to spend the summer in a Wakandan prison, she didn't test them. "I bought you some nice postcards, and a ton of other souvenirs from everywhere else. How was your summer? Invent anything fun?"

Kassy smiled at the boy who'd just landed beside her. He obviously wasn't human, but still, his speech pattern was a little strange to her. "Ah, we? Do you have siblings?" Imagine growing up in a forest, though! To be surrounded with green, like a sea of leaves... "Oh, um... I'm Kassandra, Clan Keigwan." She offered her hand, mentally running through how to address new people.

"Sounds like a lovely holiday." Connor smiled, glad Kijani had had a good time, as he had hoped she would, after the events last year. "I apparently got to learn how to run stark industries. Nothing I haven't done since I was 16. It was quite enjoyable though, I worked on a few things for the suit and such" he said "a pretty normal summer"

"We...Sorry I apologize. I forget that not everyone knows us. My name is Zack. Yes. I have a brother but not in the usual way you mean. Griffin lives here." Zack tapped the side of his head. It was head to explain that he was two people in one body. Most people had no experience with multiple personalities. They tended to think he was schizophrenic. Which wasn't really surprising but annoyed the hell out of his brother. "Like our mother we have more then one personality. Griffin isn't really a people person so he usually only comes out when there is combat."

"Very cool. I'm sure your dad will be rather old before anyone convinces him to step down, though. Should leave you a lot of inventing time. I can't wait to see what you come up with for Ingot. I have some new tricks of my own." Part of her summer had been spent honing her skills, and learning new things. Some of them were completely for fun, like learning how to play a popular dancing game. Running around arcades would never be allowed by her grandmother... but she was in charge of her own life now. She could spend time - or waste it as she wished.

"So... a lot of new blood this year."

Kassy tipped her head, listening to Zach speak. What he said sounded unusual, but he didn't seem to be ill or anything. "Ah, I see. Two spirits, one body? I think I may have read something of that sort. Tell Griffin I said hello, then. Unless he's watching, in which case, hello Griffin!" One of the things she'd always been good at was adjusting quickly to her surroundings. Kassy had spent her whole life adapting and keeping herself out of trouble; this was no different. If Zach said his brother lived in his head, then who was she to tell him that he was wrong?

"Have you been to this school before? I... I haven't been in a place this large in my whole life. I feel lost."

Lex nodded at her and said "Thank you. its nice to meet you. Im Lex Luthor by the way...." Lex held out his hand to shake, with a small smile. Most people he met either hated him or liked him due to who his father was

Kassy smiled sweetly and nodded. "Yes, I'm looking for the..." She pulled a bit of paper from her satchel and read it. "The specialized dormitories. I was told they're for students who are nonhuman, or have otherwise different environmental needs. I have one of those set aside for me. After that I think I may need something to drink. My jug is almost empty and my guardian told me to be careful with myself for the first few days, until I'm used to the surface environment." She detached a heavy jug from her belt and tipped it to her lips, gulping down water for ten seconds straight. "How do humans stand this dryness..."

Phoebe always found it strange to introduce herself. What surname did she use? "I'm Phoebe. You don't need to be nervous, Lex. We have already had a Luther here, after all. God knows where Anthony is though. He kind of disappeared" she wondered briefly if Lex would know, but decided she didn't care enough. "I don't believe our parents have any influence in how we are treated-the whole point of the school is to be trained, not judged after all"

"Oh, I suspect he'll be a ripe old age before he finally gives in. Of course, my mother might make him retire sooner. Ingot is ever developing. Sometimes I'm surprised by it" Connor smiled, "I'd like to see your new skills too" he looked about at the new and old students, and nodded in agreement, "seems like it. Well, the school is becoming more known, and there's been reports of new powers out there, some people developing powers. I guess the school brings them in. Safer that way, I suppose"

Lex smiles at her and said "Nice to meetyou." Lex then rose a eyebrow at what she said. "What do you mean another Luthor? My father only had me. You must be mistaken or something." Lex took a sigh with relief, and said "Lets hope so....there father didnt hate the most famous hero alive."

Zack nodded. "You aren't human? How interesting. We aren't either. We thought about getting one of those adaptive rooms. We are used to much colder temperatures. But there aren't many students in them so we decided...well actually I talked Griffin into a normal room. We can adapt he just doesn't like it. The adaptive dorm is past the gym. We can show you if you like. We have time before Mimic's class. I think every species adapts to their environments. The humans have been living in the atmosphere for a long time. There are places that aren't this dry but you have to be closer to the water."

As Lance was talking he had to go to the bathroom,"I'll be right back guys" Lance said, he left the registration area and entered the main area. Scratching his head he didn't have an exact idea of where the bathroom would be since the campus is huge. "If I was a bathroom where would I be" lance said, it wouldn't be a bad idea to check the cafeteria. He walked over to the cafeteria and looked inside seeing a bathroom inside. He rushed inside into the bathroom urinal, after finishing he washed his hands and left into the main area of the school. Lance was a little nervous of being at a new school and making new friends but at the same time he was excited.

Katherin walked along slowly. It wasn't time for class but it was getting close. She looked around as she walked. She took in new faces. She was looking forward to meeting all of them. She enjoyed meeting new people. But she was looking forward to seeing her old friends to. Friends that supported her and allowed her build her confidence. She still had a way to go but that was why she was here.

Cassandra looked at the piece of paper in her hand then to the busy hallway, this wasn't right, there was supposed to be an office here but there was only a window looking out to the field. The girl took a deep breath and tried again, however, she couldn't help but think of how easy it would be to just smash through the walls. Cassie giggled at her silly thought. It was her first time at an actual school, she had planned to lay low until she got the grasp of high school life but first she needed to check in and get her schedule.

Phoebe gave a shrug, deciding not to go into it. Perhaps Luther didn't want Lux to know of Anthony. "Well. Perhaps Anthony was lying" She said, looking up as the bell for first class went off. "Well, class has begun, it's gym first, which is this way" She said brightly, glancing about to see if any other student needed help.

"Anthony? Who the hell is that? Who are you talking about?" Lex asked her. "I the only child of Lex Luthor! I think I deserve to know who the heck is claiming to have my family name!" Lex sighed and went toclass trying to calm down

As Lance was walking he heard the bell ring for glass, He looked at his schedule and saw gym was first. "So I'm guessing to the gymnasium huh" Lance said. He turned around and began heading to the gym folding the schedule and slipping it in the pocket on his hoodie. Lance wanted a smooth and easy transition into this new school as well as dealing with little conflict.

After the adventure to find the office to collect her schedule, Cassandra headed for her first class, GYM. As she was heading down the hall she couldn't help but overhear the end of the conversation between the two students and picked up that the boy was a Luther and the girl was heading to GYM, she made a mental note to stay out of Luther's way and begin to follow the girl. Cassie noticed the girl stop and look around and hoped that she didn't think Cassie was following her, even if she was kinda. However, her eyes didn't seem to be searching for anything specific and she looked rather cheerful. Cassie kept walking pass her but nodded her head with a smile to knowledge her. If Cassie was better at interacting with people she might've asked her name but, baby steps, she thinks.

"I would imagine so. There's no better place to get to know your power than with others that know how to handle them. That, and I'm sure they want to make sure that there aren't kids running around with particularly destructive or useful powers. I'm sure every student and their skill set is on a list somewhere." She shook her head. "I can't wait until we get a break today. I have something to show you." She was showing an uncharacteristic amount of giddiness, as she leaned very close and whispered in Connor's ear. "I can fly."

Kassandra nodded, happy to receive help. "Thank you. I would appreciate you directing me there, Zack. I keep wanting to swim up and get my bearings, but of course, I can't." There was something odd about Zack's speech, but she wasn't going to say anything. Maybe he wasn't a native speaker either. She'd spent hours and hours getting with books, getting the language proper. Even so, she felt a little nerbous about it. "I'm sure that humans can adapt to all sorts of environments. But if your brother is having trouble, perhaps you should switch to a colder room? I mean, you could perhaps wear a... a..." She frowned, trying to come up with the word. "...a cloak with sleeves..." It was just on the tip of her tongue. "AH! A jacket. You could wear a jacket?"

A nondescript white sedan pulls up to the front of the school. If anyone were to be looking in through the window, they would see a somewhat wild looking red haired, fellow covered in tattoos and his much more normal looking father. After a short, very businesslike exchange of goodbyes, the young man emerges. He quietly scans the school before sighing and thinking to himself, "Why is every place I'm sent to so freaking large?" With a quick three claps of his hands, three identical looking teenagers appear beside him. "Split up, learn where everything is, then meet me in the cafeteria if they have one. If not, back here," he says to his clones.

The four gingers disperse and begin to wander the campus, one remaining outside to explore the grounds and the other three walking through the various buildings. After about 25 minutes, the Original finds the cafeteria and tells the others through their mental link where to meet him. After gathering his duplicates, Guido asks, "What have we learned?" The clones then proceed to explain the general layout of the Academy before one of them shares the instructions given to the new joins. The Original looks at the one speaking and says, "I want the instructions word for word you know what to do." With a mere tough of his hand to his clone's arm, Guido absorbs the duplicate, learning all that it had experienced in its time apart. Now armed with the knowledge of the enrollment process, he says to the other two "dupes", "Go enroll in whatever classes you think will be most beneficial to us. Have fun, all I ask is that you return when I ask you to. You know what happened to the last dupes that rebelled."

With that warning, Guido turns away and begins the process of obtaining a dorm room and enrolling in classes. Finally, he makes his way to the Power Devolopment classroom, wondering what lies in store for him. Upon arriving at the class, Guido glances at the layout of the desks and then chooses the one closest to the exact center of the room. He then stares ahead to the front of the room, waiting patiently.
