"So, let me get this straight. You could have gone to anyone for help. You could have. . .paid off some Huntsman that had strayed from their righteous path..."
-Adam Taurus, RWBY Vol 3 Ch. 7 "Beginning of the End"

Wait, another RWBY roleplay? I certainly missed out on "Monty Day" (Feb 1st), but as a tribute to him, I decided to go ahead and attempt to play this one roleplay idea that's been haunting my dreams for years.

This roleplay will focus on Fallen Huntsmen, those who broke their oaths to safeguard humanity and keep the peace. Setting will be canon-based, comparable to how Marvel's Netflix series (Daredevil and Jessica Jones) acknowledges events from main MCU films, but maintain their own solid stories. So really, though we're using canon settings, we're not going to directly impact or change anything from what we've seen so far in the series, but rather introduce an idea that could be possible in Remnant.

Afterall, Adam Taurus does mention to Cinder how she could have employed the services of stray Huntsmen. Who said she never did? ;)

What's in store:

  • Freedom. Sandbox? Taking after several wonderful RWBY roleplays I've seen in the past, I've learned that having the ability to build your own futures is a beautiful thing. Of course, there will be a main storyline, but unless a call to action is made, your characters can live their lives however they please. The only person you would answer to is...me.
  • Speaking of storylines, this will be driven by Missions. Much like how in the world of Remnant, our own fallen Huntsmen also network through hidden Mission Boards, the ones that involve assassinations, kidnapping, terrorist attacks, and even setting up a Grimm invasions. To avoid cluster fucks, more than one mission could be taking place at the same time.
  • You will be playing Huntsmen who have strayed from their righteous paths. Academy dropouts, those who see better profit by lacking a moral compass, and even the ones who think they can make the world a better place by burning everything to the ground. I'll expect mostly adults, those seasoned/experienced for combat (at least 20s). You're all essentially mercenaries. NO MORE ACADEMIES. School's out.
  • This is gonna be dark. You thought losing an arm, the plight of a maiden, and getting swallowed whole by Grimm is dark? Well, I'm taking you all to the void. Question is, how deep will you go?

Questions? Comments? Concerns?

Oh, a Co-GM would be nice. Sorry, there's only OneWayOut to this.

Sounds good to me. I have a character concept in mind and I want to ask your opinion on relatives of canon characters. Kind of like how Raven is mom to Yang and sister to Qrow but m.i.a to the cast.

I ask because my character would be Crystal Fall, the sister of Cinder who doesn't stay in contact with her.

Edit: and I'll take a co GM spot if you need one ^^

It's actually quite funny you bring that up, since Cinder would be one of our highest-paying clients. However, we would always refer to her alias "Queen," the same codename Qrow gave her in his report to Ozpin. That being said, non-canon relatives of canon characters are fine. Dark Els---I mean, Crystal would fit in.

SWEET. A couple more people, and you got yourselves a bunch of mercenaries. Well, even if we don't get that many, I'm still going to put it up next week. Because we love you, Monty. T_T

Now, seeing that we're all going to be "bad" Huntsmen and Huntresses, anyone have ideas on what their characters will be like? A fallen Huntsman doesn't necessarily mean a mean-spirited warrior, or a psychotic killer. Doing it for money? Hardly any fame to get in this business of wet works, so perhaps social status upgrade? Maybe you really do enjoy all the killing? Perhaps you're in it for revenge, and you would do anything to get back at the one who wronged you?

Oh, and we don't discriminate; not with our targets, and certainly not with our employees. Equality looks beyond the skin color, gender....and tails. Get my drift?

I haven't entirely worked out the details of my character just yet, but I do have a couple of ideas floating around in my head.

Yeah I'm debating with myself on what kind of character to play.
I'm either thinking a heroic but delusional Huntsman who resorted to terrorism and murdering people to get to his goals, or an Ex-huntress who joined the Whitefang for a short time before she left the group after They were forced to joined Cinder,
so she started doing her own thing to help Faunas and her own morally dubious ways

I know it probably sounds weird but I was thinking about some sort of drug addict that turned on those around them to get their next fix so just kind of joined to get money and because they were already in the bad books!

I'm interested, trying to decide whether I should modify a character from an old RP or make one from scratch.
