Walking, the Urtelem are slower than most bipeds. In actions, they are only slightly slower. However, for rapid locomotion, they roll, and you'll have to run pretty damn fast to outpace that.

As for the ropes, I suppose you could hinder them with a net or something (with difficulty. They aren't light), but as long as the path to the ground is clear they always have an escape route, being able to glide through earth and stone. Then they can burst back up elsewhere and cause more chaos.

When the angels were first made, most of them took multiple swings to hack through a tree, as though they were using an axe. So yes, angel weaponry could damage them, but not with much more efficiency than, say, steel tools.

@Kangutso, I shall be responding. However, a) I'm still working on the collab I had from before Vestec declared war, and b) I'm already in the Celestial Citadel, so I don't need to actually travel until I want to act.

Also, since Reathos' Pronobii are in the south, then Vestec's horde of Pronobii and Ashlings will have to march around the coast of the Fractal Sea to get there, some of the most populated lands on Galbar. This, of course, works swimmingly for Vestec, but makes them a target for those who seek to protect civilisation. Teknall shall be dumping as many Urtelem as he can muster onto that horde as soon as he notices it. If we still want the Pronobii vs Pronobii battle down in the south, we could say that Vestec's Pronobii, being the intelligent and goal-oriented race they are, can slip past the Urtelem while they battle with the Ashlings and quietly make their way to the southern tundra.

It's not really that eldritch yet is it? I mean we have Jvan's constructs, sure. But the hostile ones are few and far in between if I remember correctly (There's only like what, a dozen fibrelings?) and the rest are like the Sculptors and fairly peaceable.

Population and size dynamics

-Given their habit of breeding whenever there's unexplored regions, even if you play that off with their stamina and speed allowing them to roam quickly, there are still probably a hundred million uncoloured wild-type fiberlings on Galbar right now.

-They're designed with a high imperative not to interfere with the evolution of other life in the long term. So they. Uh. Don't do anything relevant ever. ('._.)

-However, that does mean that they do very specifically target anything that's upsetting the natural course of things. So far the only thing introduced that fits the bill, as I recall, is Ashlings. Rampant elementals are also a worry, but by the time they get anywhere near Char-sized, not even an Optic fiberling can make them look up.

-Speaking of which, the rainbow ones are those with probes and speaking devices in them. They're twice as big as even the very largest of wild-type furs, at a tad under two rhinoceroses heavy. With a bit of Googling and some speedy maths, that means that at their very densest they still occupy a sphere with almost exactly 1m radius, i.e. Still taller than you in heels. At a middling density (for a fiberling, which are at least 90% empty air when active), that makes them as big as a grain silo or commercial petroleum tank. Big girls!

-Optic fiberlings are big enough not to have much competition, and presumably the same force that 'dyes' their consumed hair also bolsters its longevity, so they're unlikely to die of natural causes other than dragons (eventually) and big elementals. However, their size does not affect their strength, speed or intelligence. It may take longer and be more dangerous, but the same methods used to kill regular fuzzies will work on the rainbow ones. Currently there are five of these.

-Starvation, though, is the highest cause of mortality for normal fiberlings, primarily because their preservation imperative prevents them from over-exploiting their environment even if they're close to death from mass loss due to heat, cold, or damage by more dangerous organisms- Ashlings, hain tribes, white giants, heraktati, mammoth ants, and Rottenbone life like fleet-footed manglers, rainbow silkies, mottled skyrays, brush beasts, Deepwood sloths. Remember that they don't have muscles, and they're not very dense when active, so they can't take much punishment or exert much force relative to their size.

-Their 'hair' does not regrow (they have nothing to grow it out of), has no immune system to protect it, and is thus constantly shedding. So ordinary fiberling size sits at a shaky equilibrium based on how biodiverse their habitat is vs. how wide they can roam. A flourishing rainforest that's relatively empty of other fiberlings can see one grow to elephant-big before it breeds, while a competed oasis in a hostile desert will see its belligerents shrink until they're barely the size of dogs.

Well in this case @Kangutso expect maybe some sort of acknowledgement from Zephyrion but no actual action against Vestec. He has been long aware of Vestec's Horde and truly doesn't care.

If anything, he'd just send ogres out to fight the Chaos Horde to see which army is better, but as of now the ogres aren't quite advanced enough to be doing that sort of fighting.

I'm sure Vestec will make a second horde in the future though, right @Rtron?

Why would they think any different than men? I mean, sure, there's a couple biological difference between sexes that change the way they think, but if you read a bit into it and get some female friends, then I don't see why writing them should be a problem.

Just imagine yourself as a woman and your problems with writing females will most likely lessen.

Anyway, I wanted to say that I'll probably take a more passive role in the RP for a little while. Kind of like a hiatus from posting IC, actually. I gotta sort some things out so I won't actively look for involvement in anything. If someone has a specific need for Astarte though, let me know.

Name: The Order of Lakshmi.

Description: The members of The Order of Lakshmi do not know how their order came about. Their purpose is to die in glorious combat, taking as many enemies as they can with them, in the name of Lakshmi. Who is Lakshmi? They're not sure. There are various interpretation, ranging from another name for Niciel, to Vestec's lover, to a mortal that Kyre favored.

Abilities: Upon screaming "I love Lakshmi!" The members make themselves invulnerable to harm for exactly one minute. Their daggers, upon this phrase being screamed, glow and can cut through anything, again for one minute only. They're considerably dangerous knife fighters, and entirely naked.

Appearance: Imagine any sentient race member, only naked, wielding a stone dagger and screaming 'I LOVE LAKSHMI!!' as they charge into battle.
