I'll see if I get any inspiration while I try to get my hainpost rolling. I got my themes, I just need a story to express them. Hrmf.

I think its high time that the hain/human community relationships were explored.

What, you mean after all this time, Hain and Humans have still to make contact?

@Muttonhawk Not in any posts, anyway.

My main question though is do they even share a language? They originated on completely different planets, made under completely different orders. Then Illunabar went around and mixed up the languages just for good measure.

Secondary question: How do White Giants react to Humans?

Hain tribes in the vicinity of the human arrival have been in contact with them for quite some time now. I think it best not to impose a universal reaction of hain to humans and vice-versa because they were all in tribal groups anyway.

As for the white giants...eeeeeh...

Look, humans don't necessarily have the essence of Toun or Slough in them, but I'd rather not retcon human arrival by having them stomped as soon as they arrived. I've been trying to contrive a reason for them to be considered safe. The best I have is for humans to be so closely related to natural life by coincidence that they effectively have the essence of Slough, but that's a little iffy and relies on Logos' creation method being mysteriously close to Slough's.

I mean, one thing that could happen is for it to be tacit that Logos animated humans with a drop of Slough's rot, like Toun did to assist his creation of the hain.

Does anyone have better suggestions? I'm open to ideas.

There we go. Not quite as deep as Kortek's second hatching, but showcases elementals and humans.

Note that this was only one hain tribe's reaction to humans. There may be many others that are intermingled, trading peacefully, simply indifferent to one another, or otherwise.

That feels like my first post in ages.

I just wrote a short post to remind everyone that ogres exist and establish Ommok as the ogre king, so that he has something of an introduction before I start doing things with him.

I'm pretty sure such things as merchants aren't around just yet.

@Kangutso I'm pretty sure they are, that was the whole point of the Phantasmagoria, to create different trades (furs, beads, wine) that would, in turn, create trade between tribes. I went into negative might for that even :I

And just to make it clear, here is the FP usage of Phanta's post

-During the song (phantasmagoria) Ilunabar plants the seed of the following advancements (7FP):
-Paid: Trade, Flour/Bread Making, Pottery, Leather Drying/Tanning, Trapping, Herbalism, Eloquence*
-* Eloquence is technically free for my domain, but I spend a point anyway because of how effective it is
-Within Domain/No points: Poisoning (Story, echo of Herbalism), Fruit Lore (Echo of Herbalism), Sewing (beauty), Binding & Weaving (Beauty), Wood Carving (Beauty), Winemaking (Beauty, echo of Herbalism), Bead making (Beauty) and Petroglyphs/Painting (beauty)

So yeah, there are merchants alright.

Also, two extra things:

1) Susa is a Hero under Lifprasil, there character was mine, but she is under his blessings (and technically he is free to play her if he wants)

2) I warned Lif to take out the might usage for oneiromancy (I gave up on the day months ago) and also to say all of this was before the Aimless Time (Which, again, it was) but I guess he forgot :I

@Muttonhawk It WAS dream manipulation by mortals, literally the google definition of it, dropped idea from a while ago, since I decided to make heroes instead or holy orders and avatars (Which I love above all things, but they are completely unbalanced and far too expensive. Furthermore, a hero dies and you make another one for the same price, an avatar just keeps getting more and more demanding, with the information that Vestec could just "slap" any of my divas at ease, I literally felt like there was no motive whatsoever to keep on in that track, next one would cost a whopping 8 might and would be someone far too easy to troll, since to simply replace one of the girls I would need 16 might, then 32, then 64... and sincerely, I feel like I could lose all three at once if someone decides to be extremely mean)

That's a good point.

Actually, that reminds me. I was trying to think about how the fight with Violence would go, and it seems like it would be really ironic to beat him with lower case violence in the first place. I was thinking that with the way Minus does things and with how tough avatars are anyway, it might be better to just trap the Violence avatar. I'm not fond of the idea of outright annihilating the poor guy in the first place, just for the sake of letting him build more of a character.

I don't know, I guess I'm just flinging about author's bias over strategy. What does everyone else think about Violence potentially surviving or dying?

Having the combined efforts of four or more gods to destroy an avatar being met with "NOPE!" and Violence escaping unscathed seems like too much. That being said, I've always been opposed to anything more than the most minor of alterations to others' creations without their approval. In my eyes it's really just Rtron's opinion that matters in regards to whether Violence outright dies or not.

Just to be clear, I don't think that Violence escaping with no repercussions would make sense. You're right, that would be a massive cop out. It's just that killing him is the other extreme. And, yeah, I would hear what Rtron thinks first.

Keep in mind, that was just Vestec himself. They're still extremely useful for every other situation that doesn't involve a literal god. Not to mention, Illunabar could, if she so desired, block Vestec's attempts at slapping said Divas.

That's a good point.

Violence won't be escaping unscathed, though there are ways for that to happen, because that'd be boring and Vestec (and myself) don't like boring in this situation. However, he won't be destroyed either. I has plans fors him.

I feel like everyone is getting a little too fixated on fighting Vestec's Avatar

Maybe this is part of some plan that Vestec had put in place

Maybe Vestec is just crazy

Maybe what y'all should consider is turning Violence into a hamster or something. A really, really nasty hamster, but a sucker for treadmills nonetheless.
