@BBeast Hey Gratz for 888 Days here! Also @Kho sorry for missing yours by a day.

You will note that most of us have that length of time recorded. This is no coincidence. A few years back the Guild went down and all data was lost. The admin Mahz rewrote the Guild from scratch. As such, the time specified is the number of days we have been a member of this iteration of the Guild. Evidently, new Guild turned 888 days a few days ago.

Speaking of which, what's so special about 888? Is it simply the triplet of digits, or does the number 8 have some significance that I'm missing?

Yeah after I wrote I saw a pattern to it, and I speculated on it having to do with the old Guild. Also 888 really only because of the nice tripledigit, on my part that is.

First world politics are very complex. What is a right social libertarian supposed to be? Here in my ol' piece of land we merely have the Government and its opposition!

I'm not sure. But if you want complexity, just take a look over here at Australia. We have a federal election coming up this week, and for the Senate we have 38 different parties, plus 16 independent candidates. Granted, most of them are tiny and won't get in and will be forgotten about until the next election, but it still means we have a ballot paper that is one whole meter long (I'm not even joking. I just measured one).

Granted, Aussie parties are more upfront with their naming in the senate. Shooters and Fishers Party. Family First Party. Christian Party. Sex Party.

Not even joking with that last one.

It's one of the many reasons why I enjoy our preference voting system.

Given the vast number of microparties, it is probably a necessity for them to communicate their core ideals in their name alone if they want any hope of getting voted in. Otherwise most voters will get to the booth on polling day, read the ballot paper and think "who the heck are those guys?"

The Australian Sex Party is an Australian political party founded in 2008 in response to concerns over the increasing influence of religion in Australian politics.

IS religion becoming more influential in Australian politics? (Though I admit that perhaps the name 'Sex Party' doesn't have much relevance to their core idea. Seeing that, I'm just thinking: 'ah, and those must be the representatives of dick-thinking. Wouldn't 'The Sin Party' have been better? Or 'The Get-Religion-Out-of-Politics Party'...)

Religion may have had increasing influence a few years ago. These days, it's probably more far-righters detracting from the main right wing party into the 'I'm scared shitless of the gays' parties.

In my limited understanding, the Sex Party developed from a bunch of advocacy groups for sexual health and civil rights, hence the name. As for why that name if it's not necessarily their platform, what can I say? Sex sells, man.

I'm suddenly feeling all gritty, medieval, political intrigues, character-based NRP.
But I guess Divinus will be moving in that direction soon, so just have to be patient :|

If you want a lot of democracy, just like at the UK.
Actually, you might want to look away for now...

It's a pretty-looking map. Whether it accurately represents Arcon is hard to tell, though, for it is also a generic-looking map.

@BBeast I chose it from a few which were generated by a site I recently came across. It was one of the better looking ones, more complicated than the others, more evenly spread land-mass etc.

Unfortunately for us, we don't seem to have anyone who has a proper map-making programme, which is why we are currently struggling with a map of Galbar. I think establishing a map of Arcon early on will help us avoid any future issues with creating a map for it.

@BBeast

Remember how Ventus said he'd help fight off the Horde and come with a lynch mob of elementals at the right time? Was that supposed to be somewhere in the huge Grot collab (that I missed out on) or is this still going to happen at some point?

I ask because in a separate collab Ventus is assembling this lynch mob of elementals and getting them ready to deal with the Storm Djinn and then aid Teknall.
