Beastly post to start off with page 21. I like the interaction between Tauga and Keriss the most. This twisted form of friendship they share is quite fascinating to read about.

@Dawnscroll Logos x Donald Trump alliance confirmed?

I just hope this time things don't go like last time Logos delivered a stone to a head of state.

@Muttonhawk

I swear nothing in this universe breathes and can operate near perfectly with little light. Oh well.

Btw guys, just a heads-up, there'll probably be an official partial hiatus from around March 01 til June 01 (later depending on when people's exams finish).

What does an official partial hiatus mean? Like, we stop, but just kinda?

I think what he's trying to say is that people's exams are coming up, including him, and that things might be halted for the time being as Life decides to fuck us in the ass.

That, and rather than a complete stop where we just stop writing and posting entirely, it stops only big sweeping plotlines like the Realta invasion or the Amartia vs the world thing we have going now that would drag a lot of other Gods into it. Smaller plotlines that build lore or what expand the world aren't stopped, but massive plotlines are.

I could write Vestec creating a new race, or the Rovaick building up the Inquisition and expanding slowly, relatively closed of plotlines, but I can't have Vestec starting another Horde war or the Inquisition suddenly purging heretics everywhere it finds them as it marches on the war path, because that'd draw a bunch of Gods attention, and a lot of people might not be able to be involved (even if their gods would be) due to college.

Make sense?

Also those of us that haven't can finally get around to making a bunch of creation sheets.

Just caught up a bit on the IC.

Chiral Phi is showing the true power of Big Data.

And the Xerxes co. is finding a good workaround to Teknall's curse. I am impressed with the guerrilla warfare solution.

It never really died, but no one else stepped up to write something for it after Slough.

SO.

Who wants to be the next contestant on Feature God weekly?

@Lauder Until a few months back, we would select one god in our cast to be the subject of feature posts that show a little way in which they've impacted the world. It started as feature 'week', but not everyone had time for a feature post a week, especially when big plotlines got rolling, so it turned into a feature indeterminate-amount-of-time. The posts were mostly little scenes that didn't follow onto anything or forwarded plots much. They were just a bit of fun.

Being that I made the hain race, my feature posts were just little short stories of how a particular hain community has been affected by a god's actions or influences. I even made a super special post header that's since been coopted for the Yorum storyline.

Say Toun was named as the Featured God.

The idea would be for everyone to write one post from the perspective of something he's created. Hain, White Giants, Slave Hain, etc etc. After enough time has passed or everyone participating has written their post a new featured God will be selected and the cycle will begin again.

And the Xerxes co. Tauga is finding a good workaround to Teknall's curse single-handedly, like the wonderful and competent general she is. I am very impressed with the guerrilla warfare solution.

I've recently had an idea for a kind of story-independent group thing we could do that might be easier, if a little more reliant on numbers. Introducing...

Termite's Secret Santa Arcane Prophesy Raffle!

A thought I've had for a while is that it's hard for prophesies to exist in a roleplay because we don't actually know what's going to happen. That said, all of us do actually (probably?) have plans for our own characters in the future. So we can, in fact, write prophesies, so long as they're for our own characters.

Obviously nobody wants the future development of their or other characters to be spoiled (shhhhh @Poog the Pig our conversations don't count). What makes a prophesy click, though, is that nobody knows exactly who or what it's about.

So if prophesies are cryptic enough (by which I mean really, really fucking incomprehensibly cryptic), and they're not posted by the author of the characters/events they relate to, they can exist without anyone but the author knowing who the hell the hint applies to.

That's the secret Santa part of it- A couple of people all write the words of their own prophesy, each one gets another prophesy anonymously, writes a two-paragraph scene for it (did someone meet Fate in a dream? did a shaman suddenly cry out and speak in tongues? were there words written in the ash of last night's fire?), and submits that (possibly also anonymously). They're all bunched up in a single post. Nobody knows who wrote which scene or which prophesy, but each has a grain of truth.

This was literally a shower thought (my hair hasn't even dried yet), but any opinions?

ed:

Chiral Phi is an independent avatar of Jvan. She has no power of her own, but manipulates mortals into doing her will through beneficial guidance, and calculating their actions. She does not actually care for their wellbeing.
Truth

I see
A boy from the village.
He walks
On the shore
And in the flotsam
Finds an abacus
That burns with blue flames.
Now the boy is a man
And he uses the abacus.
He is a scholar
And he is rich.
Every day he uses the abacus.
Now he is old
And his back is hunched
Over the tool.
He tries to put it down
But his fingers have seized up
With blue flame
And he cannot let go.
The old man burns in the fire
Still holding the abacus.
Prophesy

In hindsight that looks too obvious, and, shit, it probably is. But long before CP existed, say back when everyone was visiting the Oath of Stilldeath, this would have made very little sense. There are hints there (abacus? mathematics? Jvan maybe?), but also false leads (The colour of Jvan's magic is carmine, not blue).

Shower thoughts are best thoughts and I love the idea of making cryptic as all fuck prophesies. It's just-
