I proclaim that we need one. :D Even if it's "unofficial".

Who else thinks this?

Maybe not a good thing for it to be actually officially designated. They tried that on the oldguild, made people "comrades" who's specific job was to greet new users. People got butthurt over it, majorly butthurt.

But I don't see why we couldn't do one on the side, no rank involved. Set up a couple of group PMs. Or we could just do it like we've been doing, kind of everyone chip in every now and again and just have a chaos of welcomes. It's more friendly that way; I know on the oldguild it often was reduced to a copy/pasted message by one comrade or another. It's so much more personal this way.

What on earth is there to get upset over about a welcoming committee?

Regardless, I think it's a brilliant idea. The more friendliness, the better c:

Oh hey. People had started replying.

*re-watches thread*

Well, in general I was thinking of doing more than just greeting. Things like setting up "Helpers" so really new people could get aid. (AKA those who have never been on a post-by-post website before) Maybe even make a master list of "greeters" for the newbies so they know who to ask basic questions to.

Stuff like that. A little more comprehensive than just saying: "Hello. Welcome." and have that be it.
