Marcella ran after Cooper and Max, hiking up her dress to catch up. "Max!" she called. "Wait!"

Lila jogged out of the building, approaching her carriage. If they were gonna catch up to that boy, they were gonna need something faster than a pair of legs. She hopped onto the front of it and turned it on, hearing a loud roar from the vehicle. "Hello to you too, Alice." She said, petting the side of the carriage. She then pulled up next to the doctor girl. "Hop in. We've got to catch him." She said with a coy grin.

Max ignored them and kept walking toward his house. He didn't want to talk to anyone just wanted to leave.

Home....

It was the only other place she could go...even if she didn't wish to. Twas a long walk from the school to home, her family's private estate in the Noble District of the city, especially in the cold air of autumn and by the time she had reached the front marble steps, she fell upon them, her eyes still bloodshot and stinging red, streaks of her mascara that had been wet with tears, bleeding down her cheeks like viscous drops of black blood. Black...that is how her heart felt, cold and dead, no longer alive having been murdered by that awful...awful truth. Maxwell was a Metalheart, which meant only one thing. His parents, shameful of him they would disown him, no love to ever be given to that sweet young lad anymore...only contempt and disdain for his social order. Even more Daniella cried for him, more than she did for herself. Surely if Max's parents were going to forsake him, then so would the rest of the upper class...including her family.

She would never see him again, never see his bright, wonderful smile, never hear his confident, charming laughter...and never be able to tell him how much she cared for him, how much he meant to her.

There was a creak at the door above her, catching her attention yet she didn't care to see who it was. If anything, it was either one of the maids coming to check on her. She lifted her head from the cold marble to look, but all it was, was the wind catching the door left open by accident. She tried to pull herself together, mournful and lamenting as she made her way into the house.

Her parents hadn't arrived home yet, and most of the maids were probably out shopping for the grand celebration they were going to have that night...in honor of Daniella being chosen as a singer, yet...what joy would there be in a celebration...without him?

Cooper hopped in the carriage with Lila. "He's probably heading home; we should follow him. I don't think his parents are going to let him in." She could only imagine how Max must feel, so alone and dejected, but she wanted him to know that she would stand by him through this.

Marcella leapt onto the carriage, wobbling slightly before managing to balance out. She tensed as the clatter of machinery rang in her ears. Never before had she ridden a mechanical carriages. Usually it was the steady ride of a horse drawn carriage, but she had no complaints against the change.
"Daniella's home is on the way to Maxwell's, is it not?" Marcella asked. "You two check on the poor boy. I'll make sure Daniella hasn't done anything...drastic." As worried as Marcella was about Maxwell, she was just as concerned about the singer running off.

Lila grinned. It was good to be giving a ride to people who weren't her mother. "You may want to hold onto something. And if you pee on my seats, I will end you." She said, and with no further warnings, she sped down the road, swerving and turning turns wildly. After about three minutes, the carriage came to a stop. She slid open a small window which aloud her to see and speak to her passengers. "Er...where exactly do they live?" She asked, embarrassed for not asking this before.

@Framing A Moose "They live on Bronze Way, do you know where that is?" Cooper said, saying a silent prayer for Lila's future passengers. Thankfully, they were already headed in more or less the right direction.

"Accidenti," Marcella swore softly as the carriage swerved wildly down the road. Her face was pale as she gripped onto her seat for dear life. "Daniella's is the big one with the large oak in the front. Can't miss it. Max's is a few doors down, I believe," she added, her grip loosening as the carriage neared their destination.

"Ah, yes, Bronze Way. Boulevard of billionaires." She said with a smile. She was exaggerating a bit, but the rich did tend to live there, so it was fine. The carriage continued moving. After a while, the carriage came to a sudden stop, sudden enough to throw her passengers around a bit. It wouldn't do much though, seeing as the inside was padded. At worst, they'd get a bruise or two. She slid the wooden sliding window open. "Here we are!" She said.

Slightly dizzy from the crazy ride, Cooper leapt out of the car and looked around for Max. She wasn't sure if he had gotten there yet or not, but she guessed that they had beaten him back judging by how fast they were going. "We should wait for him here. Either he's inside and will come out soon, or he'll be walking down the street to here soon."

Marcella hopped out, wobbling a bit. "Thank you, miss Lila." She gave the driver a shaky smile despite the dizziness. "I'll see you all in a bit." She have Cooper's hand a small squeeze and, with a brief smile, departed towards Daniella's house. She walked quickly and soon arrived at the singer's doorstep. Marcella nervously knocked, her eyes darting around the house nervously.

Lila pulled off her driving goggles, then pulled off her driving gloves. She stuffed both the goggles and the gloves in a small compartment built into the carriage. She then hopped off of the front and looked at Cooper, who's name came surprisingly easy to her. She wasn't sure why, but it did. "So, what's the plan?" She asked, rubbing the back of her head.

"We should wait for him here, and maybe look around just in case." Cooper repeated. She had thought Lila had gotten out of the car before.

Lila gave a small nod in the direction the road went. "Lead the way!" she said with a smile. "You're the one who knows what his house is. I'm just your ride."

Cooper thought for a moment; she had only been here once before, but she was pretty sure she knew which house was Max's. She sarted walking down the sidewalk, looking at house numbers.

@Fubsy

The tears had finally ceased, but still the pain remained without end in her chest. Daniella sighed looking around the empty parlor of her home. Not a soul to be found, not a voice to be heard, only her thoughts to accompany her...her bitter...painful thoughts of Max. Such a lovely place...and yet so barren inside, an exact mirror of her heart. There was no furniture at all, no fluffy couches or chairs, not even a table, just an empty room...and one polished black grand piano. Perhaps that's what she needed, a bit of music, a bit of song to ease her weary nerves and soothe her wounded heart. She sat at the piano, softly her frail, dainty fingers gracing the smooth ivory keys. Usually, she would practice off a sheet, but now...of all times...she felt like playing something...true, something from the heart.

She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, and then...it happened.

Without even thinking her hands moved gracefully across the keys, each note Daniella played filled with every ounce of her musical passion. The melody she composed from her heart resonated throughout the room, but only she would hear it...or so she thought.

As if to punctuate the end of her lovely yet melancholic composition, a knock came at the door. She stopped, her hands slipping away from the piano, and stood. Daniella wasn't expecting to have visitors at this hour; she figured it was either her parents or the maids...but then again...why would they knock? Then...another thought. What if...what if...

She wasted no time then, picking her dress up just a tad, so not to step on it, and briskly pacing over to the door, a soft, genuine smile trying to creep across her lips. The very thought of opening the door to see him before her, to finally have the chance to tell him of her honest feelings, oh such joy it brought to Daniella...but such joy...she wouldn't have sadly as she opened the door to find...not Maxwell...but Marcella.

~"M-Marcella...hello."~ Her voice was still a bit scratchy, evidence alone she had been weeping inconsolably, and if that wasn't enough, her mascara was still ruined and her eyes flecked with sore veins of red. Dammit all...she must've looked a mess in front of the lovely Italian. ~"What are you doing here?"~

Max was now in his room gathering his stuff. He took the devices that he had been secretly making. He only took his clothes and the devices since none of his books or other stuff would he be allowed to take. He then went to leave only to see his father standing in the doorway. His father walked up to him and smack him in the face. "I never want to see your face again, you are a disgrace to me and this family." Max didn't reply he only walked past his father and headed out the front door. His father slammed the front door as soon as Max had left the house. He then walked towards the sidewalk to begin his long walk to wherever he could find a new home.

Cooper heard the front door slam a few houses down from where she was. "Max!" She yelled his name as she ran towards him, practically hug-tackling him as she caught up with him. She pulled away after just a moment or two, and looked at him sympathetically. What could she say that would mean anything?
"I'm so sorry for how difficult other people will make this for you." she finally settled on.

Lila didn't quicken her pace in the slightest when she saw Max. She watched as Cooper ran over to Max. During the hug, she caught up to the two, not having to quicken her pace in the slightest. She silently waited behind the two, seeing no reason to interrupt. She didn't know Max very well, so she'd just ruin the moment.
