I really don't care what year we are doing, just as long as I play as the Netherlands or Brazil (if we are doing 1836 or beyond)/ Federal Republic of Central America (if we are doing 1812).

It seems 1900 and 1836 are the choices, with 1836 in the slight lead. (Me, Dannaroo, and Chairmen Stein vs. The Grey Warden, and a bunch of others).

My first choice was 1910 but at this point I am really quite flexible and a slight majority shift is on 1900.

I'd like to play as Great Britain but I'm sure that'd be hotly contested. I'd also like to play as Canada, though that would only be possible from 1867 onward and that'd be quite a constriction.

I am not quite sure that will work because many of the major players are still around in all five potential starting times.

EDIT: Since you seem to know what you are talking about and I was actually was hoping to PM you about being a second order GM, I was hoping you would take a Great Power, although hopefully more neutral just so there is no complaints about having a GM in an ultra-aggressor nation. Up to you to decline, but that may influence your choice. Generally, I would say shoot higher than Piedmont-Sardinia.

To make it utterly clear, my preferences are, in descending order,

1. Great Britain.
2. Canada.
3. Russia.
4. Sweden-Norway (or just Sweden if 1812 or 1920).

I still think we are making this way more complicated than it should be. We should pick the time period before we give our nation picks, not the other way around. With an exception of a few nations, most game relevant nations are still present in all the timelines.
