Also there is nothing about the Pater being particularly sneaky, certainly not silent, so with the benefit of knowing how Higan is listening is he also unaware of any sound in this completely empty forest?

That's not suitable information to warrant having the ability, not to mention it's in completely the wrong section. Nothing can move completely silently without some sort of magic, nothing of that sort is mentioned in the sheet, therefore it is not silent while moving.

If you want a character to have an ability (moving silently being a pretty useful ability and certainly not something that should be mentioned off the cuff in an inappropriate area with no explanation) it should be clearly labelled in the abilities section. The only exception is things that are considered innate, such as the fact that your character can feel, or hear or other things of non-supernatural capacity.

That being said, it's up to Pollen's digression I guess if that's enough to warrant Higan being unable to hear the creature.

Higan can't see it, nor can he hear anything.

You'll note that I said he could hear it earlier (based on the trick you PMed me), and the capabilities of the electric vision have already been established. Even if I were to lean towards Higan's senses being 'better' than Pater's stealth, he still wouldn't pick up anything on audio or visual in the current situation.

@Doc Doctor maybe it'd be best to just tell him at this point? Melon's going to figure it out eventually, and I don't see much point in dragging this on a few more posts.

To be honest, I'm getting the feeling the Pater has just fled the Arena, which I should point out means I've won. I've humoured this pointless and incredibly boring (both for me and any outsider reading the fight) fight for this long, but my willingness to continue is fading fast.

If he knew what was going on, do you think Higan would end up being taken off guard at any point in the distant future, as is Slimy's default style? Look at how things played out when meta info was available, and look at the way Higan is running in circles without it. It's like the difference between night and day.

You can if you want to, but I think we both know that it would result in a deus ex machina for Higan.
Regardless, I'm fine with it. I've stopped putting much effort into the battle at this point, so if you think it's time to bring things to an end, even an end I don't like, I'll roll with it. In my mind, this stopped being a real roleplay a good while ago.

And the fight wasn't boring before? Every other action was punctuated by an entire argument over the smallest, most obvious details. Wore my skin thin awful fast, an impressive psychological technique I must admit. Once or twice when there was a flow, it was enjoyable. On the whole though, this whole fight has been like pulling teeth.

At least I've been attempting to breath life into the fight, your character is so uninteresting it actually hurts. It doesn't think, rationalise, or do anything of note what-so-ever other than fail at taking on the weakest Mech in the republic's army.

The logical fallacy is actually so painful it hurts. So you're saying that back when Higan had his Mech fully sighted and the Pater wasn't using a shred of cover he was able to track it but now his Mech is blinded and the Pater is hiding in a corner he can't? Well no shit Sherlock. However if you look fucking carefully he's still using every method as before, because cautious defensive fighting is my preferred play-style. If Pollen had provided me sufficient information back then I would have still easily found your creature despite this condescending obfuscation because your tactics suck.

If you've been wasting my time this far you're actually just a dick and I refuse to fight you from this point on. If you wanted to flee without your character falling because you were getting wrecked that was fine, you had every opportunity to do so, but pointlessly leading me on with no intention of fighting is just pathetic, especially as you know full well I'm trying to wrap up my fights so I can get the fuck out of this toxic environment.

As if the Republic even means anything. I can make up worlds too. Slimy's profile mentions that its species has ended innumerable civilisations and has always existed. Can you guess how, and whether or not, the octillions of resulting horrors have continued to thrive? Technically I don't even need to give Higan's world the dignity of a chance to combat a gradual invasion. But, all that does not matter in the least. It's just a pissing contest. Literally anyone can simply draw up a stickman and say, "This fucker is all powerful, end of story."

Cautious style my ass. Slimy has no other means to get Higan aside from waiting him out. It's easy to point an accusing little finger from within the safety of an impregnable iron hull fitted with bunker busters. I tried being nice and using skill, but in the end you simply have a character that mine can't beat by traditional means. That was to be expected, but I wanted to give it a try. Nope, the mech totally no-sold Slimy. Well, now yours can't beat mine because it has countered Hogan's unstoppable armor with its unstoppable stalking.

I can play the same cards as you. I got the same deck.

So, when I start pissing too, you cry foul. When I start complaining OOC, you pitch a fit. Poor me, suffering so when someone gives me a taste of my own medicine. Go eat a monkey.

Pretty sure you were the one calling in judge decisions left right and centre when things weren't going your way, pretty sure I calmly explained to you physics 101 to explain how a dodge wouldn't work. You've thrown your toys out the pram throughout this fight as it somehow slowly dawned on you that my warning right at the beginning before we even agreed on a fight was obviously correct, your character was outmatched, and evidently you were as well.

Your OOC game is so weak it's actually laughable, go look at the Divinity v Dazsos fight and learn some debating techniques so I feel like it would actually be a challenge ripping apart your logic fallacies. Now, if you've decided to quit the fight because you can't win please state as much, so I know not to waste my time on you any further, such has been alluded to and I'd like confirmation before I unsubscribe from this fight and burn it, because wasting someone's time just isn't cricket, and you have most certainly been a waste of my time.

You wanted a judge in the first place, and frankly, I don't blame you for it. You do indeed pose much more of a threat OOC than IC, which must be why that's where you spend most of your time. Must have picked up that habit after learning that fight writing actually requires one to know how to write.

They say if you want to write well, you need to read a lot. I myself enjoy horror and fantasy. I see that you prefer Politics For Dummies.



If my OOC game is weak, I'm fine with that. I like keeping in-character in-character, rather than needing to resort to the time honored tradition of charging outside, climbing into my minivan, and then driving cross country to ram through the wall of my opponent's room to claim victory by default.

Seeing as you'd much rather counter my weak arguments by simply saying you easily can and then totally not doing so, I'll gladly humor you and agree to disagree with no more being said.

Perhaps our styles are incompatible. Perhaps I fail by not paying enough attention to detail.
Perhaps I just plain suck (which by extension means everyone I've ever beaten sucks worse, and by seeing where I lie on the seasonal rankings one may make a rough approximation of just how many players you think suck by proxy...)

At least I can claim that most of my wins don't require a judge and a jury, and I'm glad to not be in your shoes regarding that.
