"There's no risk of you starting a war by just being here" Ophion clarified. "If you ever became a problem, the king would send soldiers to deal with you, or the great temple would dispatch some paladins to do the same. As for those malcontent necromancers who think anything of you, please don't feed into their fantasies of power by paying them any attention. Half of them are overambitious and the other half have some sort of emotional issues."

"Probably family stuff" Aurescia explained. "Maybe these people you say are following you aren't really a problem at all. Or maybe they're just overexcited fools who view you as a means to an end, as if you were some sort of genie who could grant them wishes in exchange for favors or tribute or- or whatever it is they think they can offer you in exchange for whatever it is they think you can do for them. And then there's the lovesick female necromancers who-"

He shrugs. "I'll just have to trust you on that. But....do you think it would be possible for you to help me register my Parton? I know I'm a warlock of sorts, but it's important to me, and him. He's not a god per say, but he's as powerful as one. Would that count, if I present myself like a minor cleric or something?"

"Did you mean 'patron' or 'parton'?" Aurescia inquired.

Ophion took out a piece of parchment and a pen to jot down some notes about what he was about to ask. "We do allow lesser deities to be followed in temples, and if he isn't a dangerous entity, he should pass muster at the great temple. That said, it would help if you could explain a bit more about this... 'parton' of yours."

"I follow Death itself. He is my Patron. And he isn't that dangerous, he just ensures that all beings meet their end as intended. He's equal to a god of fate or destiny." He smiles. "He knows all things about the afterlife, the dead and undead, and he sees them as his children. The disobedient are punished after their final death, a fate worse then any hell. He obliterates them. All things must be in balance, in death and in life."

"Death is not an entity. It's simply the absence of life. As for beings calling themselves 'death', well, take your pick. Gods knows there are countless melodramatic beings each claiming to hold absolute dominion over life, death, and the afterlife" Ophion explained. "Truly, life and death are but a tiny part of the universe. Minuscule, even. You may have noticed that most of the universe was never alive to begin with and therefore can never die."

He thinks about it for a moment. "I guess the best way to describe him would be to say he is a source of pure necrotic power that grew strong enough to gain sentience. He's as old as the universe itself, always present, waiting to ensure that all life ends as it is meant to. The undead, or post living as he calls them, are simply his children. He hates Souleaters, as the soul is destroyed, but he understands their hunger, as he feels it himself."
