Nyx immediately moved towards Larek and Tala, looking about them, ready to defend if need be. Throughout this whole thing, she had an arrow knocked, ready to bring her bow up in case any constructs appeared.

"Let's just do this, so we can get Tala home to rest" she said, with concern.

"Very well" Jammy rose smoothly, moving across the room in a quick stride, as she gathered some soothing incenses, retuning to Orna

Prudence smiled as she shut the door behind them and said "why wouldn't I? You're family, after all" she showed them a living area, saying "make yourselfs at home, I'll just go get Railing"

Sasha looked around te place, admiring the craftsmanship of some of the furniture. She ran her hand over a table, sinply to feel the smooth wood. "Eailings gotten good at making these things"

"I just cooked, and sometimes waitressed. I danced when there was no choice, I didn't offer any comforts like that" hermia said

The five dracons went downstairs and looked around. After encountering a lone construct here and there, they finally reached their goal. Vespion examined the pages, making sure none were missing.

"Alright. We have what we came for, Tran. Shall we depart?"

Larek looked around. "Surely, there is more treasure here? I mean, Nyx and I didn't come here just to get some old papers."

Vespion sighed. "Those construct gems are worth a fair deal of money to mages, even if they are chipped or broken. Collect those and it should net you a good sum."

"Ooh. That looks nice, and I can smell it from here. A little bit. It isn't lit yet, I know" Orna said to Jammy.

"Yeah. I didn't know he was a carpenter" Kos replied. If he had been told, he didn't remember. The house was indeed kept clean, and Kos suspected that either Prudence truly lived up to her name when it came to housekeeping, or that Railing helped her out. Or both.

"Oh. Well, maybe you helped your family relax that way?" Veax wondered.

Nyx more preferred the adventure, and didn't mind if they got anything out of it or not. Still, she would also prefer to get something more out of this then papers. She sighed softly at Vespion's suggestion at collecting the gems. It seemed a waste of coming here.

"The whole point of being an adventurer is to explore things that haven't been explored for ages. To maybe discover something that could...change, even slightly, how we look at something. If it was money for me, I never would have become an adventurer"

Jammy smiled, "The mark of a good candle or incense is how it smells when it isn't lit" She said, as she lit them, "These have a good balance with scent, not too weak and not too strong"

"My father's father was a carpenter. He taught my father, because he had an opinion that males should know how to build things. Tran was more interested in it, but I guess Railing wanted something to fall back on beside's Adventuring" Sasha replied with a shrug, as Prudence returned with Railing.

"Its always easier with family. I did whatever I could" Hermia said

"Nyx is right. Come on! Shouldn't we take a look around some more?"

Vespion sighed. "You are still young, Larek. I can forgive your risk taking, though I would advise against it. Money is no good if you aren't around to enjoy it." Then, he considered whether or not Larek would listen. "Hmm. I can see that you will go ahead no matter what I do, so I might as well stay with you. I am sure you will need a healer. For what it is worth, I appreciate your and Nyx's ability to speak your minds."

"Well, let's light them up and start, then!" Orna said, excited, practically jumping for joy. Then, she realized something. "Wow, I'm fired up, aren't I? Maybe it's a mood swing, but meditation is about relaxing, not getting all worked up."

"Well, I never knew that, Sasha" Kos told her. He went to greet Railing, offering his hand to shake it. "Hi there! It's been a while since we met, Railing. Thank you for inviting us in. I hope we aren't bothering you."

Nyx frowned slightly. Feeling that she hadn't been heard properly, but not particularly caring for now. She wanted some adventuring memories that weren't filled with the undead. Of course, that first adventure had been pretty life changing, she thought, and smiled as she looked to Larek.

"Great! Let's go"

Jammy smiled as she finished lighting the candles, looking over to Orna. "Meditation doesn't have to be about relaxing or calming. It can be about just feeling what you're feeling. And right now, you have a lot to be joyful about"

"Family is never a bother" Railing said, shaking Kos's hand, and then hugging Sasha. Prudence had dartwd out the room again, and returned with water and some snack type foods.

"It isn't just about money, you know" Larek explained to Vespion as they headed down the stairs.

"Indeed, young one. Many of these items are precious and powerful. They are to be used and preserved, not spent on gods-knows-what."

"I mean, Nyx and I are here for the experience of it. And before you say anything, it isn't thrill-seeking!"

Vespion let out a "hmph" but kept silent. Soon, they reached a room filled with dozens of gems and several inactive constructs, which seemed to have been left unfinished after all these centuries. "Well, I'm surprised this place hasn't been looted bare by now" Larek commented.

"Most adventurers who tried to get this far were probably stopped by that door from earlier, or were killed" Vespion explained. "Tran, if you want anything, feel free to take some as well. You have my permission. This IS technically still the property of my order, but I will allow you to take it as your own."

"That is true, but I think calmness is what I need for now. I'm gonna be in for a lot of mood swings and the like before this egg is laid. Tran's gonna have a lot to put up with, I'm sure" Orna replied.

Kos noticed Prudence's generosity. "Quite the consummate hostess, I see. Thank you!" He waited for Hermia to say her part. This was her brother's house, after all.

Nyx sighed softly. She doubted they would be able to explain to Vesipion the lure, the wonder that adventure could being. For her, it was always the need to explore something new, or something that hadn't been explored and discovered in many many years. That craving for knowledge that had been installed into her since she was a youngster. So she didn't try and explain it to Vespion.

As they entered the room, she looked about. It suddenly seemed reasonable how the constructs could work. Fill the gems with magic, instil upon the construct what they were meant to do, and they did it. Or so she thought. She explored the room happily, studying everything.

Tran shook his head at Vespions comment to him and said "it wouldn't be right. I haven't done anything to earn it, and all I have done here is what was necessary to make up for interrupting your ceremony. It wouldn't feel right just taking them"

"Trans steady. He will take it all in stride, and do what ever he can to make you comfortable and happy" Jammy said "he's easy going, so it will not be hard for him to be up with any mood swings you may have"

Prudence smiled and said "it's only simple curtsey to provide such things to guests, even if you are fanily" she said with a shrug.

Sasha smiled at Prudence, as she sat down besides Railimg and with obvious comfort and ease, took one of his hands in hers. She honestly couldn't think of someone more suited for her brother. Prudence was kind, caring and doting, and patience, all of which Railing needed

"I'm glad you are both so happy." Sasha said brightly, making some small talk before saying "Kos wanted to ask you something, Railing"

[Aristocles]

"Well, that's very noble of you, Tran. Still, maybe a little one? Just as a souvenir?" Vespion suggested, honestly not expecting that level of generosity from him. He didn't think anyone was that generous. Almost no one, in any event.

"You seem to be quite happy, Nyx. I guess these are interesting" Larek said, leaning over to examine a construct. "Vespion? Were these made by magic?"

"The constructs themselves? They were hand-chiseled. It was a laborious process to be sure, but it saved the mages their mana, so they could cast it on other things."

Despite her weakened state, Tala took a look around. It brought her no small amount of pride that her species was capable of such feats in the past, and was more than capable of even greater ones at present.

"Good! Now, how about we just clear our minds and relax?" Orna suggested, her legs crossed.

"Hmm? Oh, right. Railing, It is my understanding that you are something of a warrior. I was wondering if we could practice together" Kos told him, stating it as clearly and straightforwardly as he knew how. He knew that Railing had been held captive for a while, but hoped that he was well enough for practice with him.

Tran seemed to hesitate for a brief moment. It would be nice, to be able to bring something like that back to Orna. He looked about the room, and then shook his head. It wouldn't be right. Taking it, just because he could? "While I would like to, it wouldn't be right" He replied to Vespion.

"They are interesting, and I like knowing how things work. Did the gems control their movements, as well as fuel them?" Nyx asked, looking over her shoulder at the others, laying a hand on one of the constructs, surprised at the smoothness.

Jammy nodded, sitting down comfortably, and letting herself relax, allowing her eyes to close, she had soon slowed her breathing, and seemed peaceful.

Sasha let herself get comfortable, as Railing replied "It is always good to have a different sparing partner, and I must admit, fighting imaginary enemies gets tiring after a time"

[Aristocles]

"Well, Tran, you just do what you want with that." He turned to Nyx. "The gems were the power source and guidance system. In short, the answer is yes, Nyx" Vespion replied.

"How did that work?" Larek asked.

"Long story short, magic" Vespion replied. "In even older times, the mages and clerics of temples like this one would use trap souls to guide these constructs, but such a reprehensible practice was banned even before this temple was built."

Orna did her best to imitate Jammy, and she synchronized her breathing to match that of the other female as she sat on a cushion and closed her eyes.

"Agreed. Well, shall we get down to it? Some training would be good. Is there anything you think I should know about sparring with you?" Kos asked Railing.

Nyx looked over with interest as Vespion told them these facts. She looked back over the constructs. Used in a way that wasn't for something like war, she thought they could be pretty good guards. You only had to look at the fact that the constructs had guarded the temple.

She shrugged, stepping back to the others. "The trapping of souls doesn't sound very pleasant"

Jammy had the experience of years of meditation, instructing others as well as undertaking meditation herself. She opened her eyes, studying Orna, easily maintaining her breathing.

Orna seemed to be doing alright, so Jammy closed her eyes again.

Railing shook his head, "No, nothing." He said, rising "We can spar out back, if you would like"

[Aristocles]

"It is very bad when it is done to a sentient being" Vespion said. "Which is why it is so rarely done, save for dire circumstances."

"Except in Hekaga!" Tala exclaimed.

"Yes, that place really stinks, doesn't it?" Larek mused.

Orna closed her eyes, letting her thoughts flow freely. Her mother often meditated, but Aerta was a mage so it was different. Aerta often let her soul travel the astral plane to obtain knowledge or to view distant events. Orna couldn't do that, but she could enjoy the relaxation meditation could bring.

"Alright! Let's give it a shot!" Kos exclaimed, eager to begin. "Lead the way."

Nyx sometimes wondered how people could do such things to others. She sighed softly, and thought o n Railing, kidnapped and held captive. While he had made a full recovery, t still worried her that they might have been too late to save him.

She shook her head of those thoughts, and looked about once more, "Well. Maybe one day that place won't be so bad"

Jammy sat for a time, meditating still, enjoying it, before stretching, opening her eyes. Meditation always made her feel good, almost as if she letting out any bad feelings and energies.

She stayed silent, not wising to disturb Orna.

Railing nodded, and led the way out the back. it wasn't a large area, but neither was it small.

Sasha followed

[Aristocles]

"Well, er..." Larek didn't know how to explain the city of Hekaga.

"That's an optimistic thought. Let's keep it at that, Nyx" Vespion said of that city.

"It's not as bad as it was twenty years ago, even if that's not saying very much" Tala added, reaching down to pull a little splinter out of her right foot.

Orna eventually opened her eyes, feeling much calmer and more relaxed. She was still sitting cross-legged, her toes and heel spurs touching each other, claw to claw.

"Yeah, that's better. Did you know my mother does this to focus her magic? She says it helps female mages but does very little for males." Orna wasn't sure why she decided to bring it up, but then she thought about who did the most the meditation at her home, and it was her mother.

Kos stretched out his arms and hands. "I suppose you want to practice swordplay first, Railing?" he asked.

Nyx nodded, deciding that was enough for now. After a time, she said "Well then, should we continue, or go?" She asked, looking over to Tran, who was studying the gems, but didn't touch anything.

Jammy thought for a few minutes, before shrugging "Perhaps it has to do with our make up. Or rather, Males tend not to let their emotions be...free" She said, "Meditation does tend to be more effective for females"

Railing nodded, "Do you use blunt swords when training?" He asked, and rolled his shoulders, almost absently.

[Aristocles]

"Unless you want to see anything, we should go" Vespion replied.

"I'm willing to do whatever you want, Nyx" Larek added.

"I know this was my idea, but I'm willing to follow you on this, Nyx" Tala replied. "I hope you had a good time here, considering the circumstances."

"That's an understatement" Orna replied, chuckling. "Although Larek, Caex, and Veax are unusually open with their emotions for males, my father and other brothers sure aren't." Orna thought about it for a moment. "Hm. When Tran gets back, maybe the three of us can do something?"

"Either a wooden sword or a blunt one" Kos confirmed.

Up to her? Nyx didn't want to be the one to say yes or no, whether to continue the exploration or not. Was there any point to continuing, when there wasn't anything much else to look out? She didn't know.

But as long as there was even a slight chance that they could discover something...she wanted to continue.

"I'd like to continue"

"Sometimes I think the way we turn out is based on how we were raised" jammy said, stretching for a moment, she nodded "I would like that" she said in response to Orna's question

Railimg nodded, and went over to a small storage container, taking out a couple of blunt swords. Railing found that wooden ones broke too easily, and often had blunt ones on hand. He held one out to Kos

"Alright. Let's keep looking. Just keep close" Vespion told them.

"Maybe we can find something useful" Larek suggested. "Maybe a new weapon or something?"

Tala nodded but kept quiet.

"Yeah. Maybe we can get Tran to relax a bit more. I try to keep him relaxed myself, and he is naturally pretty calm, from what I can figure. Still, I don't think he's really let himself go for a long time..." Orna gave a smile. "...Apart from when the two of us are intimate, that is."

----------------------

Kos accepted the sword and walked over to the other side, standing parallel to Railing. "Are you ready to begin?" he asked. "Just say the word and we can start."

Nyx nkdded, once more having her bow my her side, an arrow knocked and ready. She also had her throwing knives in easy reach, just in case. Aware that Tala might still be tired, Nyx looked about as the continued, wary and ready to defend her.

"Tran is quite calm, normally. He doesn't like to recieve care but rather give it" Jammy said "I suppose he is a nurturer-a handy trait in farming I would guess" she mused

Railing nodded "ready" he said, moving to stand in a ready position, sword up in one hand

(Sorry for the delay!)

Vespion led them down a level. When they found nothing, he led them down another flight of stairs, then he stopped upon seeing another stairwell down.

"This can't be right. The plans for the temple never specified a sub-basement. From what I saw, we should be on the lowest level."

"Maybe this was built off the books?" Tala suggested. "Perhaps that staircase leading down was hidden at one time?"

"Either way, I don't know what is down there" Vespion explained.

"Very true, but even he needs some care every now and then, and who better to give it to him than his wife and mother?" she asked.

Kos moved to strike first, moving slowly as to get a gauge of Railing's skill.
