"I think there's more cause for it in this city" Marx said "other cities have their draws too though"

Laurie shook her head "no, not really. It was what we grew up with, and there weren't exactly many other human children around, so we didn't think it odd, and if there were chances are they were wearing the same as us" she said, shrugging "our mother wore deacon clothes, as did our grandmother and she came from a completely human family. She has always said modesty should be put aside for comfort, but her words were a little, a, different"

Prudence gave a laugh "I Believe her exact words are "I'm damn hot so I'll wear what I want and so what if I show too much skin!" Our grandfather never seemed to mind!"

"Well, Minbenthac does have the reputation of being a nicer city than most in our lands" Orna said.

----------

Kos thought about it. An old human woman in light clothes. He found himself far more amused than disgusted.

"I suppose comfort is important for those least able to cope with the heat. Females and children especially."

Luca nodded. "For what it is worth, I don't like wearing a shirt or shoes either. I'd sweat too much if I used them."

Jammy nodded in agreement "that it does, and nice attracts people, but the other cities have their draws or they wouldn't still be around"

Laurie gave a chuckle, "you wear them outside though, no need to get sunburn." She said, "last time you were worse then the children with an injury"

"Of course. Minbenthac is safe, Naugoa is rich, Hewaniar has those great schools, and Hekaga... well, I have no idea why anyone would want to live there. Really!" Orna explained.

-------------------

"Well, okay, that is true. But if I don't have to wear them, you know I don't" Luca said, smiling. "And yes, thanks again for rubbing on all that ointment after I was burned, dear."

"Well we all find our way in bad situations at one time or another, and I suppose you could say Hikage is full of lost souls" Marx said musingly

"Well, I couldn't leave you to suffer" Laurie said, smiling

Sasha was glad that their skin didn't burn easilyC that would be a pain, having to wear clothes all the time to protect your skin from the sun. "Comfort is important no matter what, if you aren't comfortable you just make yourself stressed all the time and that isn't good"

"Well, when you're all ready, we can get going to the theater. Or wherever the theaters are. Theater district. Yeah." Orna replied.

--------------------

"If I put on sunblock, I can go out into the sun without a shirt and not get burned. At least, run a lower risk of it" Luca explained. "Our children get sunblock rubbed into their skin every day, but we still make sure they don't get too much sun."

"Good idea. Not sure why humans are more vulnerable to sunburn" Kos said.

"Probably because our species is not native to the desert" Luca replied.

Jammy rose to collect the dishes, giving them a quick rinse so they wouldn't be hard to clean when they returned, and glanced about to make sure everything was okay "right hen lets go"

"More likely because our skin is softer" Laurie added, "but yes, we aren't as adaptable. Unless you were born to it,&5 takes a long time to get use Tia change in environment"

Orna took Tran's hand and soon they were on the streets of Minbenthac. They soon found themselves in the well-paved theater district. The city's theaters were shaped like a semicircular bowl with a ceiling covering them on the top. The stages were semicircular as well, and the seats were raised behind each other so no one's views were obscured.

Of course, the theater they settled on wasn't expensive, but it wasn't free. After getting some tickets, they were waiting around for the show to begin.

"So, Tran. This one is called The Fall of Kapra. It's about a male and female who have to survive the fall of their city and fight against the forces which divide them" She told Tran, reading from the guide she had been given.

---------------------

"Well, at least we get a good tan around here" Luca said, smiling.

Kos looked outside. "It is getting a bit late. Shouldn't you be bringing in your children soon?" It was not something he usually thought about, but as a father to be, he had to think about it.

Tran listened as Orna explained the story line, reading from the guide. Tran had never seen a play before, and didn't know if the story line was common or not, "Sounds interesting" He said "How did the city fall?"

Laurie gave a slight shrug, "if we let the children run around, they won't be up all hours of the night. They know the farm, and they know not to go out of sight of the house. Our oldest will make sure they don't get into mischief. Typically, they come in when it starts to get dark. Today they're just getting cleaned up, and that can be fun, not to mention a messy procedure" She said, "They'll be okay"

"The play is kinda ambiguous. It seems like a darkness just swallows it up. Not a shadow, just a "darkness" Orna explained. "Or it could be that this synopsis sucks."

-----------------

"Alright. I won't question your child-raising strategies" Kos replied.

"They'll be fine. If something is wrong, they'd come to me and their mother" Luca explained. "Speaking of which, how are you ladies doing?" he said, speaking to Prudence and Sasha.

"Or they just don't want to give too much away" trn said thoughtfully, shrugging figuring that they would find out soon enough. In anycase, it seemed like a glod play

[Hr]

"Human children are more...energetic, and we have different...opinions on child raising. Our mother was very strong in giving us indeoendance, and not locking us into typical roles. Sometimes our brithers would make clothes, or cook, or look after the younger ones" laurie said, explaining

"Oh um good" sasha said with a smile, finding the child discussion interesting, wondering what else humans did that would be considered odd in a dracon community

(Hr?)

They filed into the theater, taking their seats. The play hadn't started yet. Orna gently ran her left foot over Tran's, gently squeezing the right toe on his right foot with her own, playing around with him out of sight.

----------------

"Well, will you be staying the night?" Luca asked his guests.

"If Sasha wants to, I'm good for that" Kos replied.

(Meant to be a horizontal line break but it didn't happen)

Tran smiled, shifting so he was closer to Orna, in the seats, content right then to be there.

Marx and Jammy joined them

"If you're sure we won't be a problem" Sasha said, not wanting to cause any issues

The lights dimmed as the play slowly began. It was slow to start, with much exposition and dialogue, but about a third of the way in, the action was picking up. There was to be an intermission at around the halfway point.

---------------------

"It's no problem at all. We have to be hospitable to guests, especially family" Luca assured her.

As the play started, Jammy put the information booklet away, focusing on the play. The slow start was informative, but jammy felt like it could have been explained as the story went along-too much information at once could confuse people. And you'd forget it too, most of the time

"Oh well that would be lovely" Sasha said with a smile

Eventually, there was an intermission. Orna gave Tran a hug. "I liked it so far, my love." She hadn't seen a play in a long time, and it made her more than a little sentimental.

-------------------

"Very good. We have some rooms for you to stay in, just up the stairs" Luca explained.

Tran returned Orna's hug with a smile "It has been good so far" He said, wondering if something was wrong, "is everything alright?"

"Thank you" Sasha said, seeming to hesitate, not wanting to just wander around the house.

"I'm alright, thanks love. I-I just suppose that I get choked up at romantic plays" Orna said to Tran.

---------------

"Want me to lead you to the rooms?" Luca asked.

Tran nodded, and gave Orna another hug, wanting to comfort her. "I love you" he said simply, and gave her a smile

"That would be good, thank you" Sasha said, rising and stretching slightly

Prudence stayed where she was, trying to occupy Lysandra, making the girl smile, knowing where she could stay the night if Railing wanted to stay as well.

Soon, the intermission was over and the play was back on. This part was the more exciting part of the story, filled with more action and considerably less romance. Before, the males were bored and the females had been immersed into it. Now, it was just the opposite.

------------------------

"Railing, are you staying too?" Luca asked.
