@Errant Son Previously, I have played an assassin who may have been borderline what you dislike. A very, very skillful knife juggler, but it was more fantasy based. But that doesn't matter outside of it being slightly relevant. Besides, assassin types typically don't join a Man-At-Arms mercenary group.

@Pirouette Well, we're not quite mercenaries, more like a more standing version of a militia.

And I'm inclined to agree that assassins wouldn't join except that this is my 2nd run of this RP and we had an assassin who did exactly that beforehand, hence why I asked people to not make such characters.

Hm. Sounds it is more of that particular player's issue rather than the concept of the assassin, but I get your point.

@Pirouette Call me an asshole but I found that people who play assassins typically also have the same issue of wanting to be like Ezio Auditore.

Nothing wrong with assassins per say (I loved AC, and I love assassins) but when I try to get a somewhat realistic RP, something is just immersion breaking about a guy who can pull 3 swords from his ass crack and throw knifes like they're darts.

I could maybe write up an assassin character that fits your world and hopefully you'd be fine with it? As I'd never 'summon' swords like that. But I won't because that's what I'm not interested in right now. I think I have something better in mind, anyway.

@Pirouette well, anyone can write anything. Someone can make a cook-turned-assassin and while that idea sounds incredibly funny and ridiculous, if it's really well written a writer can make anything sensical, no? :) So technically any character would be allowed. It's just that I kinda want to avoid situations where I have to tell people ''no'' simply because their character is a copy of Ezio Auditore.

I actually don't know how to get my character out of the situation I wrote her into. Whoops.
If she stands up, he cuts her side. If she lays there, he's gonna push her off.

I already feel like mine was pushing the boundaries of your tolerance for assassin-type characters a little bit.

I mean, an acrobat/caravan guard/soldier, even I thought it might be a bit much

@Twisted Fate if we're being honest - yes. But I allowed him cause he was an acrobat and not an assassin. It makes a difference to me.

Also your characters fighting style is really ineffective if he were in a real life medieval battlefield.

From what I'm picturing for Jahan, I think I'm going to have him focus more on diplomacy and being someone who can talk his way out of trouble. I feel like it fits his character a bit more and takes away from his completely ineffectual fighting style

@Twisted Fate I've no doubt that he'd be tutored to fight in more army based combat anyway.

@TheFake coincidentally I have that same picture saved for any characters I might want in the future. I like her so you can post as soon as you want. If you need a pointer as for what to do, well, you can make a short intro of her being in the camp, perhaps show a bit of what she can do. A man fell from his horse or something, be creative
