An eerie silence hung around the ruins of an underground civilization. A civilization that once lived many centuries ago. A civilization that now lay in ruins, the buildings eroded from the damp air and constant water flow that had built up during the long years of abandonment. Moss and fungus grew upon the stone and the ancient bodies of metal that had lay there for so long.

Clank... Clank.. The sound of something metallic rang out, echoing around the deep cave, breaking the silence. A human figure rose from the ground, covered in moss and fungus that grew during it's slumber. It became clear that the figure possessed four arms. It wasn't human at all. The clawed hands plucked the growths from it's body, flinging them onto the cold, dark floor. It looked around at the ruins. It was dark, but light seemed to trickle through the cave's entrance, causing a faint glow on the broken city. "Such filth." It, which could be established as a 'he' due to his voice, sighed as it continued to walk around the ruins.

He took note of his surroundings. It was the remains of a failed civilization. Someone had failed to keep it alive. But here he was. Alive. He was the only one who had succeeded at living through the failure. Thus it is only logical to assume that he had such an authority over how things should live. He was living, they were dead. It was all so simple to understand. But how did they fail? And how could he learn from their failure? This would come to him with time and information gathering. But what he did know, was that people must be ruled over to prevent failure.

For now, he needed an assistant. One cannot do grand schemes alone.

As he strolled, he foot kicked something on the path. A loud Clang! rang out as it collided with what appeared to be another metallic being. It seemed quite tall, resembling a female. What was a female? Who knows. It's arms gleaming dimly, revealing blades that replaced what could've been hands. "You will do." He said blankly as he crouched down. He placed a finger on the metal body's chest area, a spark rushed from his finger, zapping it like static. Somehow he knew of this. How to activate another being like himself. The magic spark was immediately absorbed into the chest of the metal body. He could feel it's soul core reactivating. He stood back, watching the body, waiting for movement.

Darkness, it seemed like the entirety of her being was darkness, then there was like. It was as if she was being ripped violently from a long sleep. The world came into view as Ketta was brought back to life by the Animata standing before her. Flashes of violence tore through her mind, and she was instantly ready to fight standing up and bringing her blades to bare as she was ready to strike Ardon, she stood there for a long moment before realizing that she was not in any danger and that Ardon has brought her to life, he had pulled her from the darkness she had been in. She tried her best to remember her purpose, and knew instantly it was battle but could not remember why, or what had happened before she had just been awoken by this being Ardon. “Who are you? Why did you wake me?” She looked around at the ruins and inwardly became distraught at her lack of knowledge at what was happening or where she was. “What are we doing here? Who am I?” She didn’t even know her own name.

The world was new to her, and she was being born again, though with knowing things she had no memory of having been learned or programmed. Once more she took in her surroundings slowly lowering her arms, it was a civilization, or used to be. It had fallen and overtime become nothing, but rubble. A tinge of familiarity ran through her, but no memories came with it as she looked down towards her arms, they weren’t arms though, they were swords. Strange, she thought to herself. “I am truly a machine of war, but who am I?” She asked aloud looking once more to Ardon. “What is my purpose?”

The Animata merely watched his new 'companion' rise from their slumber, he did not flinch at all when she brought up her arms to attack, as if he knew that she wouldn't do anything to him. Her questions were numerous, yet easy to answer, "Calm yourself, child." He commanded with a smooth, metallic voice. "I am Ardon. And I have awaken you from your slumber to serve me. As a machine of war, you will obey me, for I have allowed you to survive. His voice staying authoritative as he spoke. He paused for a moment, to let it all sink in, but to also think of a name for his new subordinate. Ardon was merely a name that just popped into mind when he spoke.

"Your name is Ketta, and your purpose is to follow me. Guard me. As I make the world anew. To save those who cannot survive on their own like we have. His vision of 'saving' was rather.. skewed. He turned away, beginning to walk toward the opening in the cave, curious as to what is beyond the trickling light. "Come Ketta, we must begin our mission." He ordered firmly. He was very confident for someone who had no knowledge of anything in this world, but he will soon find out everything.

It had taken them a stretch or two to make it to the end of the cave, their metallic bodies being greeted by the afternoon sun and a soft breeze that pushed about the desert sand. Ardon could feel energy surge through him as the rays beat down on him. Something approached them. A humanoid figure. It soon came into view, to reveal another. A pair of humans. They looked at the metal beings with some shock and awe. "W-who are you?" The man asked, stuttering before the tall inhuman pair. "Silence fleshling! I will be the one asking questions." Ardon bellowed as he stepped forward, towering over the man. "Who is your master? Why are you here?" He questioned back.

Before the man could open his mouth, his companion, a woman, threw out something from her hand. A fire...ball? Before the attack hit Ardon, it dissipated harmlessly, the magical energy flowing into his core. His gaze moved to her attacker. "Ketta. End her." He ordered. Survival 101. Don't attack the person in command.
