Can't speak for everyone, but I only ever do characters that are Japanese, German, French, Brit, American and these days Russian and Chinese. The order of preference is as displayed here, though Japanese and German are of equal weight. I have a clear preference of these nations just because I think they are cooler.

American and British and Aussie, I understand, because most people are English speakers and know the culture. It's Japanese that gets me. And when people say British, they usually mean English. Irish is another overused one.
I would literally kill to see a Israeli or Welsh or Polish character

I usually go, in order, American, Italian, German, [wherever setting of RP is]. Being an american born from Italian and Germans kinda gives me a bias, but Italian has a heavier bias. And then, well, Murica.

Well, well, for the register, I'm Brazilian and can count on the on the fingers of a hand the times I came across characters of my nationality here. That said, I don't do'em, for the reason I think it's kinda cheap. That said, I love tropes, which is why I overuse Japanese (what would you expect of someone who only ever plays anime RPs?), and as a matter of fact, always loved Germany and their culture and history. All the others that come after them are aggregate taste.

I have to admit however, that I know little of the island's internal politics so indeed, whenever I say Brit it's most likely English I'm referring to. Though I know the Welsh mostly by Fate/Stay Night's influence and once had a now inactive acquaintance here who was Manx.

I'm technically Scottish, but I was raised in South Wales, so I guess that makes me a sheep? Got the accent,if that counts.

Oh, a Scottish? I have a RL friend who's a freaking huge fan of William Wallace, to the point of half of the characters he did, when we still had the time to play D&D, being based on him.

Latin America as a whole has a seriously diverse culture, but the Spanish speaking countries have many points in common, while Brazil almost looks like a completely different continent. In fact, internally there's a lot of divisions as well, because Brazil is too big to have a perfectly homogeneous culture; someone who lives on the South looks, dresses and behaves almost nothing like those who live in the North.

Shame that he got fed up with RPing and quit the site. I hate when people do that. One or two bad experiences and they bail out like rats on a sinking ship. It's such a waste of good pals.

Same in Britain. You've got such a divide, you can tell what village someone comes from by their accent. The south is different even in the south. Devon and Brighton may as well be different planets for all their similarities.

@KoL I think Spriggy worded that a bit wrong.

You don't need to make lots of edits, though you might need to rework some stuff so that she has an identifiable weakness. Like a flaw in her weapons, a gap in her combat skill - not something that would render her useless, but something that smarter people would be able to exploit and could turn the tide of battle accordingly.

Erm... like, being an over the top super confident person that as specified on her bio doesn't know to give up?

- Know a few basic martial arts moves, but not being a master of anyone, meaning that she has a way to go in learning them?

- Being very good at sports but still limited by size and weight?

- More importantly being a zero range fighter except for a few gimmicks with wire and the occasional scenery exploitation?

- Like pretty much everyone being seasoned killers with borderline superhuman skills while she's a greenhorn hero wannabe that's a plain down to earth mortal?

- Most of all, how the hell can you take someone who's declared to be "Generally Awesome" seriously? All she does is boast about a few things and you start complaining OOC, when that's exactly the kind of reaction that should happen IC. This is specified on her CS, Itsuko intentionally pisses people off to exploit their rage.

I'll give you one last argument, that's one of the many sources of inspiration for her:

Adlet Mayer of Rokka no Yuusha, if you know his MO, than you know what Itsuko's gimmick is.
