The finger that had been pointing at Elysian changed position into a thumbs up.
"Sounds like a plan! I've just got to go put my stuff to my hotel room. We'll meet back here in fifteen minutes!" She said, before spinning around and running away from the spot. On her way, she passed Orion, the boy from earlier. She didn't stop to talk to him, but simply said,
"Hey Ory!" and was off before Orion began speaking. Right before she ran out of their line of sight, she raised her fist and yelled,
"Long live Team Melysia!" and just like that, she disappeared around a corner.
Truth be told, Melaina hadn't actually booked a hotel room, but she had a feeling she could find some room somewhere. So she picked a hotel at random. It was a fairly nice hotel, but the lobby was empty, with the exception of a Hispanic woman, probably in her forties, sitting behind the front desk. Little did Melaina know that the woman did not in fact work at the front desk. She was a maid. You see, the man who usually worked at the front desk had to leave. His wife had just gone into labor, and he didn't have time to find anyone to properly fill in for him, so he asked one of the members of the cleaning staff. He assumed that since everyone was either in the hotel already or were busy with some wild task the God-Making Committee would have them do. But Melaina had no way of knowing this.
She sauntered up to the front desk and rung the little bell on the desk counter, which was usually used to get the desk keepers attention if they were in the back room, but only earned a confused and concerned look from the woman already sitting there.
"Sorry, I just love those. Anyway, do you have any rooms available?" she said perkily. The Hispanic woman's expression remained confused. "Eh, señorita lo siento, pero yo no trabajo aquí." Melaina cocked her head to the side a bit.
"Um...is that a yes?" She replied. "Bueno, yo trabajo en este hotel, pero por lo general estoy limpiando la mierda." Melaina's face got even more confused and a little defeated.
"Um, do you speak English? Englioso?" Melaina asked, guessing the Spanish term for English. "El jefe hizo dame esto. No estoy seguro de qué hacer con él. Aquí." The woman then handed Melaina a book with people's names as well as their room number. The bad news was the place looked full. The good news hit when she was scanning through the names. Her defeated expression left as soon as she saw the name, leaving only a grin and wide eyes in its wake. She didn't even bother looking at the last name.
"Elysia!" She said, sliding the book around to show the desk maid.
"She's my friend! I think I'll take the key to that room!" She tapped the room number next to Elysia's name: 254. The Hispanic woman grunted as she stood up, then pulled a key out of the number's box, leaving only one other key in there. She held it out to Melaina. Melaina grabbed it out of her hands and marched towards the door to the stairwell, pulling the suitcase along with her. The Hispanic woman sighed. "Extraño a la mierda."
It didn't take long for Melaina to find her room, even if the trip up the stairs was difficult. When she did, she entered it, greeted by a fairly nice room. She pulled the suitcase towards a king-sized bed near the center of the room. What she failed to notice was that this was the only bed in the room. She then pulled the suitcase onto the bed and opening it. She continued to go through her clothing, setting out clothes that might be cute for a swan chase.
