Appearance
Standing at the taller-end of height of 6' 2", Edward, commonly known as Ted, holds a Dark-Brown shade of hair, ruffled in a sort of untouched style that isn't very unique. His hair isn't fine, and definitely quite thick in length, reaching the back of his neck. More towards the body of the man, he doesn't exactly look that muscular or big-boned like other Band-Players that generally hit the big screens and high-record labels. His arms are quite thin, though not scrawny. It's the typical sort of Non-Sporty individual that is being represented, by his appearance, which isn't too much of a problem. Going to his face, there's a short black stubble that sits around his mouth and upon his chin, with a dark-emerald shade of eyes above. The rest of the general features of his body are relatively average, no notable differences that make him a special-individual amongst the flock.
In the terms of fashion, it's relatively the same on and off stage. Usually, for night-performances, and going out at darker times, there's the use of Jackets [Much like in the image] worn. It may not be completely stylish, or expensive, but it suits him rather well. For daytime performances and outings, even when staying indoors, some sort of Chequered, long-sleeve button shirt, usually with rolled up sleeves, with any sort of plain-colour under-shirt is likely to be the sort of Fashion anyone who plans on knowing him will have to get used to. He isn't much about fashion, like some other groups out there in the World of Music, and just generally wears what he thinks suits him for a day. General Trainers, or Canvas Shoes, and non-tight jeans are worn below. Sometimes, especially during certain performances, a Pokiok Soft Shell Cap is occasionally an addition to whatever clothes he's wearing.
Personality
Ted isn't the worst of people; neither is he the best. Not much of a Open character, he's usually just that person who's used to hanging around at the back of a group, occasionally being brought into certain conversations. You know, the sort of person who just is there, sometimes feels like they shouldn't but is anyway? Ted's social-life usually consists of talking to people who makes contact with himself first, or whoever he's been told to talk to. You couldn't see him as a sort of Leader-Perspective, though he can introduce some decent ideas when needed. Overall, he's the typical sort of guy who hangs around the group. He's not the confident Let-It-All-Out sort of individual, yet he isn't also the I-Hate-Everyone-And-I'm-Super-Shy sort either. Somewhere in the middle, generally being the sort of person he is.
A more detailed way of describing what sort of person he was would be slightly more specific. Ted's friendly when he needs to be. Manners can sometimes be a priority, but the normal-casual attitude is the way it's normally presented. He generally doesn't flip out at anything minor, meaning the idea of Over-reacting is not a common phrase when describing his opinions. At least he tries to not be biased, though sometimes can be. Ted's also quite respective of both privacy and others. His passion for Music hasn't exactly left him set on one genre, meaning he's reasonably respectful towards everyone's talents. He doesn't parade himself around as a sort of god, show off when practising or performing, nor does he simply portray himself as a showman. Ted isn't the sort of icon you can look upon and think 'Hey, that guys going mental on stage! Just look at that body-movement!' If that was ever said one-day, he'd be amazed at what he was actually doing in the Spotlight. Same can be said for his vocalisation. He's pretty decent, though not a complete beauty when it comes to the voice. As long as it is good enough for the song, then it's good enough for him and everyone else. Long-Story Short, Ted is sort of your average British Man, but with an instrument and Musical Talent.

Extra Information
Norman's involvement in the Band started out as occasionally filling in for small backing parts in the earliest of the band's songs. He eventually began to gain more respect from the Local fans, and was asked to be included more often. As he doesn't want to contribute for full-time playing, due to his interest in watching them more than performing, has made him been known as a Half-Member. He still is known for his involvement, though he doesn't always make an appearance. On more recent notes, Lucinda told of using him more if they continue to make their independent tracks. On a side note, Lucinda and Jeremy have indeed been in a relationship for quite some time, having their ups and downs as it progressed.
The Band also used to have a Lead-Singer, who didn't play any Instruments, before Jeremy, who had deceased from a Vehicle Accident three years prior to the current times. No one likes to bring his name up often, and keep their respects to themselves. Jeremy replaced him after a tough interval, being the next-best Vocalist.
Current Song-List
[This is their list of songs before the Roleplay Start-Date. I might update it overtime, but I've given them all fictional names based off of real songs, as you can guess. These would be the only Studio Recorded songs, not one's they would've only performed, like covers. The band have not yet released an album, only one Independent-Single.]
- Symphony Distorting - The only Song released on recording as a Single.
- Gone up in Flames
- Untitled - Not yet performed, but has been recorded without a given title. Only part of their set-list to include just half of the band, which is Lucinda and Ted as a Drum and Bass Jam.

Likes/Advantages
Ted does like a few things in particular, more than others. These would include the Alternative Rock Genre, especially of the Older duo of Louis and Thom, experimenting with the different areas of Music and the ability to simply blend completely different styles into a new, improved style, whilst maintaining their own aspects of their current style. On a more general style, he's particularly fond of Cats, because why not, out-of-the-house meals and simply knowing that there are also other Musicians like himself, and getting to know them if possible.
For the advantages of the young-adult, Ted's Bass playing skills are quite high. Using Finger-Bass as his style of playing for most of the songs he's done small covers for, as well as the current list of songs Problematic State have done so far, though plans for faster songs may require a switch to Pick-Bass. Ted's Bass seems rather stylish for both the man and Band, being one of the more expensive instruments in the Band. Having had it for quite some time, the feel of the Fretboard and shape has grown upon him, making it difficult for him to consider buying a new one. It was definitely difficult for him to buy, being in a Middle-Class family, and brings some charisma to the performances, especially at night with the LEDs mounted into the Fretboard. His playing speed can be quite fast, and definitely excels in some of the more unique styles of playing. Being in the Alternative Rock band, he's able to use this variety whenever pleased, though mistakes can sometimes be noticed.
Dislikes/Disadvantages
The first thing you can say that Ted likes is called the Fame-Attitude. This is when an individual comes rather too fond of their recognition, meaning they start to present themselves differently and change as a whole person to impress those at all costs. It's more of an irritating personality that just gets deep down inside and drives everything to the point of insanity. Also, he's not exactly a big fan of those who generally point out flaws. In fairness, no one really likes those sort of personalities. When it comes to general dislikes, Ted isn't exactly a big fan of Coffee, if that can be considered a notable dislike, and many of the troubles that are generally going on throughout his Career's progress.
One very big disadvantage is his job. He doesn't exactly work anywhere else, besides the band, and generally has a lot of free time. Without non-busy friends, he can end up spending quite a bit of time alone. It's something he's used to, and sometimes can be considered invasive if someone tries to Invade the lifestyle he's used to. He does sometimes combat this by doing extra work for local people occasionally, which gives him a semi-stable wage to keep him going. One other disadvantage would be the amount he can sometimes focus on their progression. He is concerned about growing too large, which could either make life a living hell, or he could ruin his life by falling under stress and messing up most of the things the band were to perform.
Background
Scottish-Born, located in the town of Livingston, under his father Scott and his mother Helen, Edward grew up with a generic Middle-Class family. He went to Primary and Junior school in the Local area, reaching the age of 11 and the end of his 6th Year in the Curriculum. Eventually, during the Summer Holidays of that very same year, Edward and his Parents had decided to move far southern, into the central-south of England. After the general family shenanigans relating to the moving, and the settling nearby to the Capital, the next 5 Years of Secondary School became the first steps towards the path of the Music industry. As his mother and father worked a lot to ensure the trio, Edward being a single child, had enough to accommodate and ensure leisure was still available whilst living a standard life. And from this, Edward met five people.
It was during his first year that he met Jeremy and Lucinda. The three of them formed an early friendship, mainly spending time between the three of themselves rather than owning a large group of temporary acquaintances. During that same year, the 7th Year in Education, Edward, now starting to be called Ted, started to become interested in Music. There were opportunities, of course, at his school for Music lessons. Here, he chose himself paid private Bass Guitar lessons, after looking into the different String instruments that were up for offer. During the 8th total Year in Education, the second in the Secondary School, Ted met Norman after having him move into the same Street. The two made quick, yet at first quite awkward, friends, both occasionally using their new-found instrumental talents to mess around together making simple beats and tunes. After some time, Norman was introduced to Jeremy and Lucinda, who in return were introduced to Matthew Davis. Matthew, Jeremy, Lucinda and Ted all formed their own little School/Outside Student Band, originally titled Chequered Hearts. Matthew was to take the Vocals, Jeremy on Electric Guitar, Lucinda would pick up the drumsticks and Ted would act as the Bassist. It was more of a hobby and more for a laugh rather than a serious note, but during their final months of education, a parent of a member of the audience from one of their School concerts approached them, complimenting their covers and nodding that they could use these talents for their own satisfaction, as well as hopefully many others. That was what sparked the idea of making this a career. And so, the final school year came to a close, with Ted walking out with a good number of Qualifications. Excelling most in Music, as a BTEC and GCSE, Biology and English, he was prepared to start his life onwards.
Ted did then do a Year of Sixth form following the next academic year. He chose a Music and English A-Level course, hoping to snatch some good grades. As he grew up, he took a small part-time job to earn a small amount of money, eventually reaching the age of leaving the house. Ted moved into a moderate-apartment complex, one where the rooms where quite large, known as the Lounge. It was known as this because a good few performers looking for jobs and opportunities would generally come here, knowing the tradition of new Musicians to use this location in hopes to find success in their dreams. Here, he took the room 3F, the sixth room on the third floor. From here on, this is where Ted has lived up to this point. Once his time in Sixth form was over, and he had bagged himself good qualifications yet again, he sat down and began to talk to his fellow friends. They began to talk about making something out of their music talents, especially relating to what the Father had said all those years ago. After a week's discussion, they eventually came to an agreement to start their own Musical Act. After eventually ditching the name of Chequered Hearts, they soon adopted the unique title of Problematic State. Starting to use their money earned from small jobs and local assignments, the five started to invest their money on things for Music. Renting out, eventually buying, a separate room further upstairs, the group then began to construct a small studio for them to practice in. These upper rooms were known for being put to this use, and the Apartment usually assisted in those who invested for these areas. Ted finally then spent a huge majority of his cut on his Bass Guitar, now a signature icon for himself. It was rather expensive, compared to some of the other instruments bought and fixed up by the rest of the Band, but it proved to be interesting. Norman had bought himself Synthesiser gear, wanting to assist the band for small reasons, whilst filling in his own personal hobby and enjoyment for whenever he felt like they didn't need his assistance. Things started out small, as they have been for quite some time, and they signed up for small Pub gigs. Having gotten gear that was good enough for performing, they managed to bag themselves a small name in the local rank-board.
Covers were made, and plans for their own original songs were starting to become a thing. It was right around the production for a never-released song, titled Loophole, that a tragedy occurred. Matthew, being the Lead-Singer of Problematic State, was involved in a Public-Transport Bus crash whilst moving to visit his parents in another town. During the accident, which involved 9 passengers and the driver, 3 people were killed. Among these three was Matthew, which had then left a huge dent in the hearts and minds of the four friends. This impacted both Jeremy's and Ted's lives greatly, the two having come close many times. This was the point where the group began to fall apart slightly, before making a drastic recovery. Jeremy, coincidentally, had ended up with a small-alcoholic addiction during the time of mourning, making the Band be set back slightly, though inspired for lyrics. As time passed, in Months, the group eventually came back together to continue their act, using the inspiration of both their previous troubles to inspire the first few songs they began to write. And from that point, they went back to performing in Pubs, now beginning to target their first larger venue in clubs. The singer was then replaced by now head-showman and Guitarist Jeremy, Ted and Lucinda providing the Backing Vocals. Norman began to also get involved, starting to put his Pianist and Synth-Playing skills to use.

[Harper Cole]
Name
Harper Louise Cole
Nickname
Harps, Harpy (by haters)
Gender
Female
Age
23
Nationality
English
Appearance
Harper is slightly shorter than average at 5'3, with bright purple hair and blue eyes. Her natural hair colour is a mousey blonde and her hair has been almost every colour it could be before she settled on purple. It's hard work keeping the colour bright though and Harper has to reapply colour to it every 2-3 weeks. She uses a mixture of purple shampoos and dyes to keep it looking the way it does. Harper is very slim, has been described as petite often. She is one of those people who don't need to worry about their weight or what they eat. She struggles to ever gain weight, instead remaining at the size she is. Harper likes to keep her makeup minimal, but always moisturises and has a good lip gloss.
Her fashion varies depending on what she is doing. In her personal life, she wears a lot of black or dark clothing, but on stage she wears all sorts of bright colours. Most of her clothes are from markets or second hand shops and then Harper has sewn sequins on or altered them to look nicer and more upmarket. Harper prefers dresses and tights over pants of any kind. She usually performs in bare feet, but otherwise wears platform heels or wedges, never stilettos.
Personality
Harper is outgoing, extroverted and this comes across well on stage. She doesn’t really dance but she doesn't think she needs to. She enjoys performing and likes to have fun with fans and members of the audience. She enjoys people and can often be the life of the party. Harper is creative and she gets excited about new ideas and projects. She is comfortable in unfamiliar situations, finding it easy to go with the flow. She can be wild and crazy, spontaneous but also impulsive and unconventional. Harper can be a risk taker or a thrill seeker and she likes to break the rules. She finishes most things she starts, but not always. She tends to shy away from confrontation unless it is in her best interest to argue a point. She doesn't have many friends, but the ones she does have, she considers family. It can be hard to get to know Harper well because she is often not taking life too seriously.

Inspiration
Jemima - A female solo artist who caused scandal when she broke away from girl group Glitter because she didn't think she was being true to her own musical style.
Olivia Smythe - another female solo artist who hasn't quite made it big, from Harper's home town.
Likes/Advantages
Harper would consider herself an alternative artist. She doesn't really fit into the pop genre or rock. Her voice is quite unique, the kind that when you hear it on the radio, you know who the artist is straight away. Harper likes spending time at the beach, it's where she writes most of her music. She is teaching herself guitar and piano, so she can make more music organically. Harper prefers winter to summer and she likes going for walks in the rain. She also likes caffeine because it keeps her going when she is on an all-nighter writing. Harper enjoys working with other artists, especially in different genres because she is always learning.
Dislikes/Disadvantages
Harper doesn't like people who only care about themselves, or their possessions. She also doesn't like people who are only in it for the fame. Harper is afraid that she will never be remembered for doing anything important in life. This is what lead her to want to sing in the first place. She likes the thought that music will live on forever. Harper sometimes suffers from writer's block with her music and she can get very frustrated. Harper also has a dislike for salad, because, let's face it, life is too short to eat salad.
Background
Harper was born in a town of southern coast England. Her family consisted of three children and Harper was the middle child. When Harper was 4, her father left the family to move to America and start a new life without them. Harper's mother struggled as a single parent for a few years, before meeting someone new, who she eventually married. Harper's step father already had two children of his own, so Harper gained two more older siblings, a stepbrother and stepsister. Harper went to a local primary school and started attending a local grammar school.
At age 14, her parents decided they wanted to move overseas, to New Zealand. Harper didn't have any choice but to go with them. Her two older step-siblings stayed in England with their mother, but Harper and her brother and sister, moved with their mother and stepfather to the South Island of New Zealand. Harper finished high school in New Zealand, and then at age 18 moved back to England. She moved in with her stepsister and began working in a pub, waitressing and working behind the bar. Every week the pub would have a karaoke night, which Harper enjoyed taking part in. She eventually began writing songs and saved up some money to pay for some studio time.
One day at the pub, she made friends with a new co-worker. After chatting for a while, they realise they both want to make music. They decide to get together and form Moon Under Water.

Jackson Carter
Gender
Male
Age
24
Nationality(bit long with some explanation XD)
Country of origin: Denmark, however he was born to American Parents and moved to America at 2
Possesses a legal 'citizenship' in England where he has lived since he was 15.
Appearance
Tall and relatively well-built Jackson stands at 180cm (approximately 5'11"). Jackson's hair is a dark brown and relatively short with a fringe-like part that reaches his chin (Refer to picture; it's hard to explain). He possesses almond eyes with chocolate brown irises. His skin in a light golden colour from his time living in Florida. His chin has a small bit of stubble that creeps up his face and around his lip, however, he shaves it before it becomes too long.
When it comes to fashion Jackson isn't too fussed either on or off-stage. He prefers to where whatever makes him comfortable. This generally means he's wearing a short sleeve shirt and a pair of denim jeans, usually on the skinnier side yet not quite tight, and a pair of converse. He also wears an iron ring on the ring finger of his right hand. He will often wear a few snap bands up his arm or some random item of such. Generally his clothing choices are of more darker or natural tones and black is often a feature colour-wise,
Personality
Unlike his musical partner Jackson is more introverted and reserved. He isn't a huge fan of big parties and prefers to stay home and strum at his guitar or such. Although he is reserved he isn't exactly shy. He's not a bucketload of confidence but he has no problem approaching or talking to strangers. On occasions he can almost enjoy big crowds however they are only in certain circumstances. Jackson is very thoughtful of his actions and is careful to analyse the results and consequences instead of spontaneously plunging into an action headfirst.
Jackson is quite open minded and likes to hear from both sides of the story before coming to a judgement. He cares deeply for his friends and family and is very trusting. He is quite mature and responsible and doesn't often push the boundaries.
On stage, however, Jackson comes completely out of his shell. He enjoys the stage and performing and, when it comes to that time if it ever happens, he enjoys performing for large crowds and has troubles staying in one place when he's performing for them.

Background
Jackson was born to an American couple in Denmark as their first child of 3. His father, Michael, had acquired a job in Denmark only months before Jackson's birth which promised to be beneficial to his career so, with no plans to stay for too long, Michael and his wife, Pauline, who was 5 months pregnant at the time, moved overseas.
Jackson holds no memory of Denmark despite what he had been told or seen on recordings. His parents ran true on their promise and moved back to Florida, America when Jackson was 2, just before his mother fell pregnant with yet another child.
Throughout his childhood nothing too noteworthy arised. He was quite average student in school and wavered between interest with his group of friends until his 13th. His mother brought him an electric guitar and it quickly grew on Jackson. He would spend a his spare moments playing it.
At 15 his father's job dragged the family overseas to London. Leaving his life behind was tough on Jackson so that marked the point when he started songwriting. He still own a collection of his songs in a small black box, very few of them have been shown to anyone though.
When Jackson's 19th year was approaching his family moved back to America, however, Jackson had grown to love England and stayed behind. He started a teaching degree but fees were looming over him and his slowly lost interest so he bounced from job to job until he ended up at a pub where he met Harper Cole.

Appearance
A true Leo, Mia emits confidence and power. Her walk is that of royalty: head held high and back straight with perfect posture. Mia looks good and she knows it, always found with a giant smile that threatens to split her face - however, whether its of pure joy, or faked, depends on the individual that its directed to. With a curvy hourglass figure, Mia loves maintaining her figure by daily walks and/or exercise. Mia is of relatively short stature: 5 foot 4, or 1.65 meters in height, Mia doesn't let her height stop her from being confrontational nor being controlled by others if need be.
With creamy skin, rosy cheeks and hints of freckles dusting her forehead, nose and upper arms, Mia has barely any blemishes on her body. She has a scar on her left elbow and knee, one that she received during her childhood after tripping. Her eyebrows are one that catches the attention of many: rather than being thin or delicately shaped, Mia's are thick and full, framing her almond shaped eyes beautifully. Her eyes are of a hazel shade, often shifting between browns, greens and specks of yellow depending on the lighting of the room, her eyes always spark with mischief. Her lips are of a pale pink shade, always curled into a grin.
Her hair is usually kept long and untamed, thick and somewhat frizzy. Primarily a chestnut brown colour, Mia's hair also has hints of reds when looked under certain lighting – mainly from experimenting with various shades of reds and blonde highlights from years prior, but most of the colour is faded, if not already gone. Her hair is layered and long, reaching past her chest in messy waves, giving her a low-maintenance look.
Whilst performing, Mia loves going all out with her clothes: bling, flashy and pretty. She often uses her performance as an excuse to get dressed up and wear dresses, skirts and the likes. As long as she looks pretty in it, Mia will wear it. It boosts her ego whenever she is complimented on her outfit, which often encourages her to do it more often, leading to a full cycle. Casually, however, Mia's motto is simply cheap and comfortable. If she doesn't have anyone she needs to impress, Mia dresses down and wears the bare minimum when it comes to styling and fashion. Her make-up also varies with the situation: if she's performing, it's a lot more glamorous, often with a hint of red lipstick to give her a sultry look but on a normal day, some simple eyeliner and lip balm is more than enough to keep the girl sated with her appearance.

Personality
✦ Confident ✦ Proud ✦ Passionate ✦ Sensitive ✦
As mentioned earlier, Mia is the perfect description of a Leo woman. She exudes confidence and is often aggressive when she's confronted. She doesn't believe herself to be a leader, but doesn't mind taking the position should no one take the job. She's headstrong and opinionated, her words often blunt and to the point. She rarely finds the need to lie, her poker-face needing to be worked on, so if you want the hard truth, Mia is the person to go to.
One way to perfectly describe Mia is that when she feels, she feels deep. Her emotions are easy to read, to the point that she can be compared to an open book - so its not hard for people to take advantage of her open nature to manipulate her. While it may be easy to manipulate her, once Mia finds out you can be sure that there will be hell to pay, a trait she's inherited from her father. Also, since her emotions are a big part of her, Mia is very sensitive. Harsh words can often lead to her feeling cornered, leading to her lashing out and acting aggressively in return. It doesn't happen very often, but once she's past the breaking point, she can end up hurting someone innocent even if they weren't her intended target.
Mia loves getting attention from loved ones. While she won't go out of her way to demand attention in the wrong way - never rebelling or acting out of place - Mia loves being appreciated for her talents or just simply complimented from the heart. If ignored, Mia can act out and may even become confrontational.
Her ego is huge. She hates taking orders and will not take to them very well. She's independent, damnit! Mia, while loves pleasing her friends and family, will not like being told what to do. But if worded correctly Mia will easily dance if told to do so. It's a trait that many take advantage of while manipulating her.

Background
Born on a warm sunny summer's day in Sussex, Camilla was always considered the sun in her family's eyes: radiant and bright. Ever since she was a child, she always commanded attention - a trait that she still has today. Most of the attention came when she was either performing or anything that involved Camilla's growing creative side. It was often encouraged anyway, and Camilla was placed into many guitar lessons and art classes to encourage that side of her, which she never complained about. She was always a daddy's girl, and would often follow her father around wherever he went. So it was a blow to four year old Camilla when she was told that her father had passed away in an unfortunate car accident. Her mother struggled to take care of her, her salary not enough to sustain her along with a growing child so they had to move from their family home to save expenses. Now, Camilla stayed with her mother and her grandparents until life could return back to normal.
Which it didn't. Instead, not even a year later her mother remarried a single father and moved with him to London. At first, Camilla and James never got along. The two were both too attention-seeking and hated it when the other took their parent's attention away from them. This sibling rivalry even reached to their secondary education, the two often butting heads at every lesson and competition available to prove that they were better than the other. It was around that time that Camilla and James participated in the school's talent show, both as a musical act where they both eventually lost to another performance. During that time, the step-siblings understood the other's strengths and weaknesses, and with their combined love for music, they started a music channel on YouTube.
At first, it was simple cover music from other popular artists. They would post anything that could get them the attention from the community. They even posted a couple of their own original music - those getting a lot more hits than the covers - and by the time Camilla (now known as Mia) and James (known as Jesse) were nineteen, they were finally recognised by the community as a good duet. For the next four years, their YouTube channel grew as more and more people began listening to the step-sibling's - now officially termed as Violet Lanes, as that was their YouTube username at the time - music more often.
Soon enough, the duet became a band with their newest addition into their little family. Being Jesse's childhood friend, Dexter "Dex" Scott officially joined the duet (now a band) as a bass guitarist, allowing Mia to focus more on the vocals and lyrics. Since then, they were able to release two singles and are now currently preparing for their first album release.

In terms of style, Edmund typically wears This during concerts and such. When it gets warmer, he can often be seen with the same outfit sans coat.
Personality
If one were to use one word to describe Ed, it’d be “chill”. Edmund rarely gets worked up about anything, taking things as they come and dealing with them in stride. He’s often considered a good friend, only a phone call away. He befriends people easily and is easy talk to. He tends to be naive and overly trusting, which has led to his band getting screwed over financially more than once.

Background
Born to a lower-middle-class family in Glasgow, Edmund lived a fairly unremarkable early life. He met band members Hessling and Langey in middle school. When in their sophomore year of highschool, they covered punk songs in the grungiest way possible. The band was a literal garage band, and was admittedly shitty.
After graduating, they hired new band members and changed their style. They became significantly better and began attracting moderate attention. They recorded one single, “Anthem of Suburbia”, which received heavy radio play by the College Stations in the Glasgow area. They played several smaller gigs, but after getting screwed out of pay twice, the hired Edmund’s uncle, Oliver Card, as a manager. Card managed to book them a show at a large festival in Southern England, where’ve they since decided to stay for awhile. They’ve been playing smaller shows in dingy bars and sleazy clubs , as well as on university campus’s.
Character Inspiration
I really, really like ska. It only felt right to me to base my character off of bands like Sublime, Catch-22, Streetlight Manifesto, Goldfinger, and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. I actually had a playlist of such bands playing as I wrote out the character sheet.

Don’t tell me I can’t reach for the moon; I’ll reach for the stars instead.
Name
Cecilia Claire Boehm
Nickname
Goes by Claire, rather than Cecilia. Is known as Cici/CC to her sisters (Cerise and Celeste)
Gender
Female
Age
19
Nationality
English (French parents)
Appearance
A freckled face makes Claire look younger than she is. Her dark brown hair is cut in blunt bangs, though the rest hangs to her shoulder blades. She’s about 5’6” tall and feels that she’s “too” tall; ballet flats are the staple of her shoe closet. Her body type is fairly average, maybe a little on the thin side. Makeup wise, she favors a very natural look, though she often uses a lot of foundation to conceal her freckles. Often she will curl her hair, which is naturally straight.
In terms of fashion, her normal style includes flowing clothes with lots of ruffles and lace. Her favorite color palette is white, pink, and brown. Normally she favors skirts and dresses, but will also wear dress pants, depending on the day.
Personality
Eternally an optimist, Claire refuses to look at the dark side of things. She knows that her music career is a stretch, but is convinced that with enough heart and enough effort her whole group will be able to make it big.
She is fiercely loyal to her sisters and her friends and will do anything for them. She devotes as much time as she possibly can to the group, to the point where she’s considering dropping out of university to focus on the group full-time.
She does have an overactive imagination and this can distract her and set her to chasing harebrained dreams… like maybe her music career. But since she’s committed, she’s along for the ride.

Extra Information
Celeste: Is four years younger than anyone else. Has self-confidence issues, to the point where she’s selectively mute (only ever talking to her sisters and bandmates, and even then only when it’s absolutely necessary; never talking onstage and certainly never singing.) She’s included in most of the group’s recordings, but she is not a “full” member of the band.
Cerise: Believes that as the lead voice of the band, she should be the public face/ “leader”. Not to mention because she’s the oldest by a year. Works at a pub, when she’s not writing songs.
Viridian and Vivian: A pair of twins that intentionally try to confuse their fans with their appearances. Still sometimes uploading videos as their old violin duet, “VVirtuoso”. Are currently juggling attempts to go to university with their music careers.
Alicia: Became a bit of an internet star for solo guitar/vocal covers of pop songs. Still does solo uploads on a regular basis.
Likes/Advantages
Claire, having been classically trained on piano since she was four, has a good musical ear and is well-versed in music theory. She’s been in choir since elementary school, as well. She’s pretty good at multitasking, both in rehearsal and on stage, able to sing, play piano, and still hear if anyone isn’t playing their part exactly right. For this reason she is the conductor and the “leader” of the group, despite not being lead singer.
Dislikes/Disadvantages
Claire can be a little scatterbrained and distant, and she’s not the best at planning things for the group to do. She’s not great at sticking to scheduled upload times or even rehearsal times; too often there’ll be a last-minute text going out rescheduling that day’s rehearsal. She can often get distracted by… well, virtually anything.
Also there is the matter of the group’s chosen style not being one that’s very highly demanded, a decision that Claire doubts a lot of the time. She feels like this must be the reason the group hasn’t been picked up by a recording studio
Background
Claire was born into a very musical family; her mother and father were a brilliant four-hands piano duet that had won national notoriety. As a result the kids were pushed into music, specifically piano, at an early age. Cerise, Claire’s two-years-older sister, did not particularly enjoy it. She began taking voice lessons after butting heads with her parents until she was eight; this decision appeased them somewhat. Celeste didn’t mind piano, but wanted to try different instruments; she joined a beginning band when she was 6, playing clarinet, and stopped piano lessons when she was eleven in favor of pursuing other woodwinds. Out of the three sisters, Claire was the only one who continued piano lessons through secondary school.
When the girls were 14, 12, and 8, they started a youtube channel. They called themselves “Arpeggio”, a name chosen accidentally. Claire had asked, “Celeste! What should we call our youtube channel?”
Celeste had replied, “I don’t know! Stop bothering me! I’m trying to practice my arpeggios!”
The first couple of videos had featured the girls singing acapella. There were some very negative comments, mostly due to the immaturity of Celeste’s voice, and the girl took them to heart (despite her sisters’ encouragements) and vowed to never sing again.
What first sparked their rise was a video that Cerise had caught accidentally; Claire had been practicing improv on the piano on one end of the room, and Celeste practicing improv on the clarinet on the other end of the room, and they had inadvertently been echoing each other, which, coupled with the acoustics in the room, led to a really cool repeating melody and variations. Comments and ratings on this video were all positive.
With this in mind, the girls turned more to an instrumental approach and gained a modest number of subscribers.
Then, two years after this first video, there was an area talent show. Naturally, the girls entered. At this talent show, there was another group of sisters performing: VVirtuoso, a pair of twins about Claire’s age who played violin, and were moderately famous Youtubers.
The final decision came down to Arpeggio and VVirtuoso; in order to decide it, a “riff-off” was declared. VVirtuoso was declared the winner, but both groups agreed that it had been epic. They both uploaded the video of the riff-off and agreed to work together in the future.
Also after the talent show, they were approached by one of their classmates, Maecie Cardew. A good sort, and the tailor/fitter/makeup artist/wardrobe manager for their school’s drama productions. She was interested in doing their makeup and picking clothing for their videos, which the girls agreed to, though they felt silly about it. Why have a makeup artist for something that wasn’t going to go anywhere?
But the collaboration videos got a lot more attention; a year later they were asked to appear on Britain’s Got Talent as part of the youtube week. In the preliminary rounds, they met one of their local idols, a girl named Alicia Henderson, who unfortunately was eliminated in the preliminaries because she didn’t have enough confidence. Claire, however, had been impressed by the girl’s love of music and her technical abilities.
VVirtuoso and Arpeggio, who were together performing under Arpeggio’s name, made it to the top 16. They had contacted Alicia, and had asked if she wanted to appear in their Top 16 performances. She agreed, albeit nervously, and thus Arpeggio as it is known today was formed.
The girls were eliminated in the final 8, but the exposure they had gotten was enough to drastically boost their recognition on social media. At this time they haven’t been asked to record anything, but they’re sure it’s going to be soon.
In the meantime, they’re just waiting, and attempting to go about their lives.

Appearance
Andre stands at about 6'4", his height usually the first thing people notice. The second thing people notice are his cool, gray eyes. He has short, black hair with tight curls and he usually keeps his hair hidden under a baseball cap or other hat. Andre has an athletic body, his muscles visible. Andre's least favorite feature on him would be the mark above his lip on the left side of his face.
As for clothing style, Andre likes to rock new and trendy clothing. Most of which is very expensive. He likes flashy, unique styles the most, always taking a risk. He likes to wear black and red colors the most on his clothes. He dresses like most rappers and hip-hop artists and feels most comfortable in these clothes. However, it isn't a complete surprise to see Andre in more "school" like looks. He has been known to wear dress shirts and pants while he performs.
Personality
Andre is Mr. Confidence. Confidence, confidence, confidence. He's full of confidence. He knows when he sounds good, looks good, and feels good. Of course he'll have his days where he feels like he doesn't look or sound too good, but that's rare. Andre can be aggressive with his music, always trying to spread his name around some way. He will not stop until he's a legend. Andre is also a bit of a flirt. He'll come off as sweet and kind first glance, but once he feels like a girl has fallen, he'll turn into Romeo. He isn't a womanizer, however, and respects women at all times. If he feels bad vibes of is told to back off, he'll respect the request.

Likes/Advantages
Being a rapper as well as singer, Andre loves to hear rap and R&B. If he knows the song, he'll sing along. Andre can be seen singing more than rapping, liking R&B more than anything. Aside from music, Andre likes to stay active. Being tall, he excels at basketball and football. If Andre stayed in school and kept playing sports, he had a good chance at going pro. Andre loves California Bay Area teams, and will follow his hometown teams all the time (San Francisco Giants, 49ers, and Golden State Warriors).
Dislikes/Disadvantages
Andre is afraid of rejection and death. With rejection, he can become depressed and unproductive when major things are rejected (i.e., record label signings, music collaborations, himself with a girl, etc.). Andre can't stand the harsh reality of being rejected, so sometimes he'll avoid encounters to save himself a rejection. This has led to him missing out on things. With death, he can't stand to hear or see loved ones go. Andre can't handle deaths after the loss of his father and brother, so death isn't something Andre is too fond of. Criticism is a tough topic for Andre. He can understand some constructive criticism, if it's said in a nice and relaxed way. Other than that, he takes it personally. Andre is also prone to fight people. This has landed him in jail a few times.
Background
Andre hasn't had the best childhood. He was born into a very poor family in Fairfield, California that struggled to put food on the table. Andre grew up knowing the struggle, having to steal to survive and fight also. He looked up to his father, the man working three jobs to try and provide for his family. At around twelve years old, Andre heard his older brother rapping with friends after school. This immediately grasped Andre's attention and he rapped with his brother.
Andre and his brother, Alexander, were a well-known rap duo in the area. The two were the strongest bond ever, no one ever able to separate him. Sadly that changed when Alexander joined a gang in the pursuit of the rap game and money. Alexander neglected his family, disappointing his father and mother as well as hurting Andre's feelings. Andre decided to go solo, not really getting anywhere. At around 15 years old, Andre gave up rapping and focused on school. He seemed to have a set life with his 3.5 GPA and he was getting scholarships, too. This would no longer continue after a family crisis.
Andre returned to school one day to see his father held at gunpoint and robbed. His father complied and everything, even giving up the family necklaces he'd pass down to Andre and Alexander. Andre watched in fear as he saw his father being mugged. When he saw them finish, he thought it was all over. He was sadly mistaken. His father was then jumped, beaten down and left for dead. The group that robbed him escalated everything and killed Andre's father right in front of him. The murderers would then speed off in a car. Andre approached his father and tried to help, only to realize he was no longer with him. Andre was heartbroken, mad at the world, and lost. When Alexander learned about his father, he set out for revenge.
Andre followed his brother to find the killers. The two left late at night to track down the killers. Alexander knew who the guys were. They were members of a rival gang. As Alexander pulled up to the house the killers were at, he gave Andre one command: "Stay put and don't leave." Andre did not listen and got out the car in case his brother needed help. Alexander fought the group of 3, somewhat handling himself. The fight would turn sour as Alexander was stabbed. Andre yelled for help, alerting the killers and forcing them to leave. A bystander would call for help, an ambulance arriving shortly. As Alexander arrived at the hospital, he'd lost a massive amount of blood. Doctors worked hard to try and save him, but Alexander would die of blood loss.
Andre couldn't take this anymore. He became quiet, unproductive, and violent. His mother couldn't take the pain of losing a son and husband and the combined new attitude of Andre sent her over the edge. Andre's mother sent him to a new school and tried to get him out of his new found ways. This move was successful. As Andre was in his senior year of high school, 2 years after the loss of his brother and father, Andre began to make music again. He found music to be a stress reliever. Andre also discovered his voice, a new weapon added to his musical skills. Andre would master rap and R&B after graduating.
After high school, Andre was faced with a heartbreaking decision. Would he go to college and pursue a basketball career? Or would he go with his dreams and be a musician. After a long time thinking, Andre decided to follow his dreams. Surprisingly to Andre as well as his mother, Andre made somewhat of a name for himself. He met someone to manage him, Nick Lane. Mr. Lane was the same age as Andre and could connect more. Andre now performs in small venues in an attempt to make it big.

Lewd. Rude. Attitude.
Rae has a loud mouth and knows how to have a good time. She doesn't have much thought about other people's feelings or opinions but only if you get on her bad side. If you're her friend she will be the first to swing to stick up for you, and be at your door with your favorite food and drink when you're feeling bad. Having her reputation in the music industry has given her some pretty interesting press, but she tries to encourage her fans and followers to follow your dreams and do what your heart desires.

Background
Born and raised on the southside of Chicago, Rae had an urban and lower class upraising. Her father was a mechanic and her mother worked as a waitress at one of the bars in town. She is the only daughter and the youngest of three. Despite a few hurdles for the family a long the way- they ultimately gave their children well rounded lives, giving them a fair chance at education, work, and fun. Whilst spending a summer working as a dish washer, Rae decided to go up during one of the karaoke nights and take some stress off and began singing. It wasn't the best, but it was good enough for some of the drunk patrons to clap and even cheer. Not one of Rae's brightest moments.
However, it did spark a bit of interest in the young woman to get interested in the music business. She had made plenty of friends in high school that made mix tapes and had small (granted poorly made) recording studios in their homes. Every few weekends she'd get invited to feature on a track or two as a singer or hook for a song that someone else was doing. It was a pretty good gig; and got to make good friends and enjoy some other aspects of that life while she was doing it.
It was during one summer a year or two ago that Rae featured on a track uploaded to Youtube that went viral and started off Rae's career with a bang. She began branching off from her old group and began producing her own sound, and putting it out there for the web. It wasn't until recently that she decided to start seeing if the real world would have a love for her as well as the niche of online fans she had formed.
Character Inspiration
My character is a mix of some old school hip hop powerful women and some silly and funny rap. I wanted someone who is going to put out love songs and passionate hits about things but then also puts out songs you can just jam out into the car too with your friends.
