[OOC] Kalos Bound!

So this is our OOC for our Ash x Misty RP.

I don't think we'll need o use a CS but maybe if we wanted to keep track of the pokemon and maybe the money/items, I'd be open to that. But I'm fine either way really.

Now I'll get started on an introduction. I probably won't want to include locations in the anime, but if you want to, I'm not opposed, I just won't be very well versed in their locations/tone/etc. I'm going to assume Misty and Ash have been to the other regions on their own or with other companions but I'll leave any of that background up to you.

Should they start in Shalor City? I figure maybe they'd catch a boat there? Or if you wanted, we could say they caught a blimp/balloon/plane (not sure which works with pokemon these days) to Cyllage or Dendemille? What do you think?

I'm definitely fine with keeping up with Pokemon and items!

As for anime only locations, I'm cool with leaving them out, to be honest. Kalos's anime only locations aren't that great in my opinion anyway, so I think that'd be not worth it in the long run. I'll probably have Ash's background be similar to pre-Kalos when it comes to traveling to Hoenn/Sinnoh/Unova, but I'll try to explain that well IC.

Starting in Shalor is fine! Seems like one of the easiest places to start, too!

Alright, I trust your judgement. I hear people are a fan of the current female companion so I may actually give this season a try. And okay, Shalor it is then! Did you have a Gym in mind Ash would be after/have a spot open for?

I don't actually have a gym in mind yet unless we pull a Black/White 2 and pick a city that didn't have a gym leader in canon like Roxie and the swimming dude from Humilau. I'm willing to go for any gym however.

I'm glad the new girl is being welcomed by fans. I could not stand May to be honest and that was the nail in the coffin which made me give up on the series as it continued. And from what I saw of Dawn, I don't think I'd like her much either...

BW2 feels like eons ago haha. I do recall one or two generations did have leaders move up to the Elite Four while introducing a new leader. Maybe HGSS did that in their remake? I'll have to go read up on it though. But I think the less complicated the better, I guess it depends on the pokemon Ash wants to train or focus on, but then again as a gym leader, didn't Giovanni have a variety rather than a type specification? I assume it could be up to the leader to decide if their gym has a theme or not.

Dawn's a pretty good step up from May since she has a much more nuanced character and doesn't take as long to go through character development. But the less I say about how they ruined Iris, the better, tbh.

I think you're right! I'm pretty sure that Giovanni and Blue both didn't have type specialization in the games, and i'm pretty sure Giovanni didn't have a type specialization in the anime either. So I may just go that route with Ash, I think.

Sorry about the delay! I'm getting you a post tonight. I had a medical emergency over the weekend and an interview I was preparing for which was today. School started yesterday and I'm getting antsy to graduate so there's a lot of factors. But I should be able to pop online during my 2 classes so that's a plus! Anyway, how've you been?

I'm alright, I just finished up the last of the meds this morning actually. I'm glad you're doing well though, hopefully the weather where you are is also nice since I know some parts are kind of crazy.
