You live again somewhere else in the continuity of existence. Ad Infinitum.
The hindus are pretty on the mark, except for their ascribing of morality to the system with that karma bullshit. It's more like you kinda just get born again somewhere else. Crossing lives is pretty much impossible because of how many possible things you can be born as. You don't really 'ascend'- you just occassionally get lucky with what you get born as.
Every other past life I recall has been pretty horrible for me.
eing a human in the most powerful country on this planet with comparitively minor developmental problems is actually a pretty nice life compared to what i'm used to.
Once I was some tentacled thing farming underwater for a real dickhead of a warlord. Trust me, you don't want to work for it. Shunted fuckarm of a individual that warlord was and still is I bet. Didn't even do its job, I ended up getting speared by something above the water out of nowhere and got the fun joy of having all my brains sliced off my head.
Another time I was a sorta gerbil-like creature. I say sorta since I was actually quite massive and had to smell my way around everything. However, that life was a truly mortifying and horrible experience. I don't even want to describe it as a human now.
Than I got to be in the war caste for a highly industrial species of hexapods. I was burned to death by napalm. That life was a okay one I suppose, there was lots of free time and commadry to be had when not rigorously training or getting beaten with a metal rod for missing practice targets (strict mother fuckers there).
Now on this planet and somewhat aware again after 19 fucking years, I do ask:
Why do otherkin keep getting all these past lives where they get to be all these powerful things like dragons or princesses? Is it just that the other people aware of reincarnation are too embarrassed to discuss how their past lives went just because they didn't get to live in some fancy palace or be some giant monster that ate people?
And anyone got their own past lives to share?
