Umm...if I am correct about this and I could be wrong. Chimera would have felt the vibrations in the air shift when the shoe was thrown. I mean after all that's what her weapon form uses anyway.

@TechspertUmm.... this is a race. You usually don't try to take out the competition

@DarkwolfX37 who did she know who should was throwing at? Also even with her partners directions she's blindfolded she wouldn't be able to see where to throw the shoe. Did she put the end spoon with the egg in her mouth?

She didn't. She just threw in the directions her partner told her. I put the target for the convenience of the other rpers, and to keep consistency with David's directions.
She knew where to throw because of David's directions. You know how people will use a clock to represent directions relative to a person? Like when someone says "watch your six" it means "behind you," because you're considered the center of the clock? So David saying -"Kari, your first opponent is at two thirty three point five, moving at a slow rate that changes at approximately a tenth of a minute per second relative to you."- means that the target was at a 75+ degree angle to the right from where Kari was facing, and the rate of change was to show the change in position from where she's facing as time passed. She knew the direction of the goal, so him not specifying that it was a negative rate of change (as in, the "minutes" were going backwards in time) didn't affect her because she assumed her target was moving towards the goal.
She put the spoon with the side holding the egg sideways in her mouth. Since spoons are bent the egg is still technically in/on the spoon, while actually being held in place by her teeth structure.

@DarkwolfX37 your characters just met David. So even with thoseveral specific directions she isn't likely to understand him unless she had used those kind of directions before. Which is unlikely unless she grow up in a military family. Even if she understood his directions she is blindfolded. She isn't going to know which direction is which. To her 6 o'clock is going to be more like 5 o'clock.

@KatherinWinter

It was said weeks ago that they were childhood frenemies, which is why they mess with each other without remorse on the way to class. Kari understands the clock directions because it's relative to her, not relative to David. "Forward" is noon, 12:00. You can give directions to a blind person this way and lead them; people just use a clock because it's easier to visualize than "273° clockwise."

@Techspert I know blind people use it. The military uses it. Even regular people use it to some extent. So I'm fine with it. What I'm not fine with is her knowing exactly where to throw the show. Even those who are use to the system alot are off alittle.

Obviously she wouldn't be a perfect shot, but keep in mind that bodies are large and they're all relatively close to each other. So, because David can see, he can give very precise instructions, and because her targets are large, she just has to throw in the generally accurate direction.

I will say my thoughts about the shoe thing... I don't think it would actually reach chimera and loki where they are now. because first of all, This is a soul eater world so I don't think the obstacles are close together or fairly small in any way. so they are probably a good length apart now, even if that's not the case. Second They are on the balance beam, so in any throw that wont cause their own egg to fall off of the spoon, it wouldn't be able to go over chimera's head or past her legs somehow and land on the beam (let alone stay there for more than a second), and throwing directly at them would also be a harder to hit because chimera is going side ways so a lot thinner target.

Thoughts on what I brought up? if I hear a reasonable explanation how it could happen in their current position then I will change what I think.

We don't actually have the size of the field and little to infer the distance between characters from. As for the balance beam, she wasn't aiming above or below, if I'm understanding you correctly. People as a general rule are pretty close to the same size from the side and from in front, but either way, the shoe either hit her or it didn't, and it's an issue that we don't really have a way to establish whether it did or not without bias influencing the decision.

@Techspert
People normally aren't close to the same unless they are one of the more lazy kinds, if you measure someone from edge of their shoulder to the other edge, then measure one side, there is normally a fairy notable difference that can matter a lot but otherwise.

The post makes it sound like the action was already completed, not in the process of, that the shoe had already landed on the beam in Chimera's path, who is going slowly by the way, right at the spot she was already stepping to. which from reading posts, this throw was made from the starting point.

I would simply leave it to Demonic angel's decision since it's her character, but things are just confusing me which is why pretty much the only reason I'm speaking about it, thanks to the post and angle of the throw.

By "where they were going to step" I meant as in where their body is going to be once they take the step, not what they're going to step on.
