Incident: He got into a fight with a teacher at his school when he was not given the top score in the class on an examination. Erik accused the teacher of being envious of his obvious brilliance and deliberately working against him. The teacher was rather elderly and suffered some fairly severe damage in the attack.

Appearance:

Erik has a somewhat muscular frame gained more for aesthetic value than any particular desire for strength or goal. He is extremely meticulous in personal grooming and is always clean shaven. His is rather handsome and has green eyes. He has medium length brown hair with its style taken from the most recent men's fashion magazine as such his hair style tends to change rather often. He wears exclusively long sleeved clothing, as he has a 3 inch crescent shaped scar on the top of his forearm sustained from a childhood injury. While the scar has faded with time and is not particularly noticeable, Erik has a difficult time dealing with the "flaw" on his body.

Personality: Erik starts off being very personable and friendly to the new people he meets, but the more you get to know him the more obvious his arrogance and self centered nature tend to come through. He is also somewhat manipulative as he attempts to use people to his own benefit. That being said there is no genuine malice in his actions, he simply does what is best for him and does not particularly care about how his actions affect others. Summarized into a few traits, he is charming, arrogant, self-centered, and struggles with true empathy.

Likes: Praise, being in the limelight, sweet foods, and journaling (when asked he enjoys saying that many successful people across history have done the same).

Dislikes: Criticism, being upstaged, perceived disrespect of anything, and not fond of sour things.

bio: Erik's parents divorced when he was about the age of three. He lived with his mother most of the time usually seeing his father for one weekend every month, though his father attempted to see him more often. His mother praised Erik constantly for in her eyes he could do no wrong. The pattern continued into his developmental years, adolescence, and early teenage years always being told how special he was. Any obstacles in his path were either dealt with quickly by his mother or he was taken away from them. However, his mother began using narcotics and his father seized the opportunity to regain custody of Erik. Erik for his part has always vehemently denied any wrongdoing on the part of his mother and continually got into fights with his father about not being supportive enough of him or caring enough about him. All in all, Erik had several behavioral issues at home with his father and when the latest incident happened at school with his teacher, his father worked out a deal that sent Erik to the Group Home thinking it would be best for him. His mother continually contacts Erik with promises to regain custody and to get him out of the Group Home. Erik believes her.

Extra: Initially well liked among the staff as he attempted to charm them, but has begun to grate on their nerves constantly asking to see the "main boss" of the Group Home and acting more arrogant towards them. He has had some excessive outbursts. Erik always tries to befriend any new people that come through the home to use for his own purposes.

Illness
Addiction to hydromorphone (Dilaudid)

Incident
Mitchell went to hospital with false complaints of terrible pain from old burn wounds. When the nurse refused to give him the drug he wanted (as they had suspected addiction after he’d come in several times with seemingly self-inflicted or false ailments), he attacked her. Her injuries were superficial, but she was left shaken and visibly scarred from fingernails raking down her face and neck. He went to trial and it was agreed upon that because this was his first offence, he would be sent to a group home across the border rather than a detention centre.

Appearance
Mitchell is much like his picture: monochromatic in every sense. His hair is jet black; eyes are a dead grey, with near-permanent dark circles beneath them; even his skin has taken on a greyish hue. He stands at a dizzying 6’6” and weighs a bony, underweight and definitely unhealthy 139lbs (this weight issue has been one of many problems prioritized at the group home). His limbs are long and bony, clearly thinner than they should be. It looks as if he was once muscled, but has since atrophied. If he were to remove his shirt, one would see most of the bones of his torso, as well as some assorted scars. The skin on the insides of his arms and on the backs of his legs is thin, leaving his darkened veins clearly visible. This skin bears old bruises and countless needle track marks, giving it a sick, perforated texture. Mitchell’s legs, lower torso and back bear deep, discoloured burn scars.
Mitchell tends to wear dark (and monochromatic) clothing, almost always long-sleeved shirts and long pants to cover his track marks and scars. He also has a tattoo of the word “Renegade” written in large script across his upper shoulder blades, and a smaller one with the name "Aaron" over his heart.

Personality
Addiction has soured Mitchell’s personality into a dark and twisted version of what it once was. He has two moods: Miserable, and high. Since his forced withdrawal, his mood has shifted to miserable and angry. He is irritable and nasty, and constantly uncomfortable. He has somewhat of a twitch and trouble breathing on occasion, and has become depressed and paranoid; some days he feels as if the whole world is out to get him. He has a tendency to react angrily or even violently when provoked. He also has no self-respect and hates himself every single day for what he’s turned himself into and what he’s done. Deep down, he used to be kind and soft-spoken; these traits rarely surface nowadays, but the home has hopes of bringing him back to this state.

Mitchell was born half a set of twins in Vancouver, BC to parents who weren’t all that fond of having children. From a young age the boys were more or less pushed aside; if they got in the way, they were met with sharp words or blunt instruments. Vancouver, being the most expensive place in Canada, wasn’t all too fond of his family either. They lived in a small, badly-upkept apartment complex in a bad part of town. Therefore, it was no surprise to anyone when, when the boys were sixteen, the complex burned down in an electrical fire. Mitchell had been trapped under a burning roof beam and rescued by firefighters, though not in time to prevent the severe burns and lung injuries from the smoke and fire. He was hospitalized for several weeks and given intravenous Dilaudid for the pain.

Mitchell's twin brother and only friend, Aaron, did not survive.

This was where his addiction began, with a mixture of chronic pain and crushing grief. Whenever the nurses decided his pain was great enough to warrant a dose of Dilaudid, he felt as if he were the only person in the world. Everything was good, everything was happy, and everything was right with the world. He forgot his grief, his pain, everything. He felt like he could do anything, like he was as light as air. It came to a point where, even after his pain had been declared mild enough to stop using Dilaudid, he felt as if the lingering pain was too much to go without it.

He began doctor shopping, at one time building up five prescriptions at a time, and using them all much faster than he should have. Shortly after his addiction became all-encompassing (roughly three months after his release) a falling-out with his parents prompted him to move out. At this point, he was almost seventeen and eligible to work, old enough to fake his name on an apartment application and live alone, escaping the home that felt too empty without his twin to comfort him. However, he had an increasingly harder time holding down a job and keeping up on rent, having spent almost all of his money on bribes or forged prescriptions, and missing many shifts in the midst of a total wipe-out high. His mental state began failing, becoming irritable, bitter and depressed. He even went so far as to turning to… less reputable work for much-needed drug money. He was evicted from his apartment and, desperate, took to hopping ERs with false pain. The rest, now, is history.

Extra
When Mitchell arrived at the group home, he was immediately placed into a “Humane Withdrawal” program to get him off the drugs ASAP (as he was dangerously on the verge of death or near-death at the time of his admission). This included intentionally quitting cold-turkey, under close supervision of a medical team including a doctor, therapist and addiction-specialized nutritionalist. He’s been placed on a cocktail of vitamins/medications (the vitamins for health and medications for blood pressure and respiration) and a strict diet and exercise plan. So far, he hates every fucking second of it and has already lashed out at doctors and nurses, although not quite to the point of violence. He is irritable and jumpy, constantly feeling like absolute shit and tries to avoid everybody. He’s rapidly becoming the centre’s resident dark cloud.

Misc
Mitchell knows ASL, as his twin brother was born deaf. This isn't a well-known fact to any beyond his therapist, as the most he'll ever use is the occasional gesture when he can't put his thoughts together into words. Using it somewhat saddens him, as it brings back memories of his brother.
It is one of many things people wouldn't expect from the grumpy drug addict; people can be so judgemental.

Length of stay:Madeline has been at the group home for 2 weeks. She has at least 5 and a half months left.

Illness: Obsessive compulsive disorder

Incident: One night her parents were having an argument, as they often did, she ran into their room and attempted to stop them. Her father not realizing she was there, went to hit her mother and when Madeline got in the way, hit her instead. Madeline seemed to snap and started to hit her father until he overpowered her. She spent the rest of that night in the bathroom scrubbing at her hands until they were raw. At school the next day when her best friend asked her about the bruise on her face and her hands, she started to scream at her in the middle of class and then ran out of the room. She went to the bathroom and started to wash and scrub her hands until they started to bleed. A teacher happened to walk in before she did too much damage and called her parents. Her parents told her that they wanted her to see a councilor but she refused. She spent an awkward night with her parents and the next day, her parents told her that she needed to get help for her many issues and decided to send her to a group home to work on these problems as a last resort.

Appearance: She is about 5'6 and 135 lbs. She has reddish hair and brown eyes. She has a slight build and looks like a doll. She is not well developed yet and most see her as being younger than her real age. She has more of a swimmers build but without the defined muscle tone although she is strong.

Personality: She tends to be withdrawn and quiet and hates to be in the limelight. She is sometimes snarky when she is cornered and tends to anger quickly. She holds a grudge until the end of time. She is often alone but longs to be close to others although fears it at the same time.

Likes: Music, Order, Control, Rain, writing in her journal.

Dislikes: Chaos, rudeness, lack of control, stupidity.

Sexuality: Straight but is bi curious and can appreciate the female form. Has never had a boyfriend.

Bio: Madeline was the only child of two workaholics. Her parents had gotten married during college but only because her mom had gotten pregnant. While they did love her, they didn't show her much affection. Her parents were always arguing and what little time they did have for her were spent either in criticism of her behavior or aloof interest. Madeline was always an odd girl and she was nervous about most things. As a young child she had several imaginary friends and would blame them for her obsessive incidents such as rearranging things at peoples houses they visited or throwing away things that did not match out of her parents closet. She was obsessive about things matching, things being turned the proper way and finishing a sentence. These were just a few of her quirks that drove her friends crazy. She tended to not have many friends and with her erratic behavior was slowly alienating the ones she did have. She was slowly becoming more and more antisocial and depressed.

Extra: Being at the group home was both a relief and hell or Madeline. She was happy to get away from her parents and their arguing and criticism, but hated not having control over most things. She was not too good at reading others and so far had not allowed herself to get close to anyone at the home. She tried to remain apart from the others whenever she could unless forced to interact. Although she had already been in some of the rooms of the others and made some minor rearrangements until the staff made her stop.

Teres has been incorrectly diagnosed with Dissociative identity disorder (previously known as multiple personality disorder).

Incident:
The last few days had been such an unbelievable blur, a maelstrom of shouting, crying, pleading and confusion. Lots of confusion. Teres went to class just like she always did, sure it was her birthday too, but it didn't mean she was allowed the day off school. It was actually a pretty good day (Maths class with that dickhead Mr Garbutt sucked, but then it always does) and by the time the end of the day came she was eager to get home and start to get ready for her party - it was supposed to have been an amazing night. Just as she was leaving the main school building she suddenly realised she didn't have her coat, or rather more importantly she didn't have her phone which she'd left in the pocket of her coat in her last class. Fortunately for her the coat and phone had been exactly where she left them and she'd sighed a deep sigh of relief and had picked them up. As she started to leave she suddenly noticed how few people there were when moments ago there had been so many. As she started to ponder this fact she remembers feeling a little dizzy almost as a firm hand had swiftly patted her shoulder. Starting to turn around was the last thing she remembered before waking up in the hospital handcuffed to the bed with a stern faced police officer baring over her.
Turns out she had attacked a teacher in class before going on some kind of rampage grinning like a lunatic and assaulting some girl she didn't even know. So that was that. Well, that was the beginning of a long and frustrating chain of events beginning with her police interrogation, passing through her expulsion from the school, whizzing right by all of her friends avoiding her and ignoring her calls and texts, before finally landing somewhere around being diagnosed with Dissociative identity disorder and getting sent to some group home in California. Of course she'd tried to explain that it wasn't her, that she hadn't done anything and that she'd simply collapsed somewhere at school and it was all just a huge misunderstanding. 'Symptoms', is what the doctors had called these explanations, the police happy to listen to their 'expert opinions' (plus the countless supposed eye witnesses didn't exactly help). But there you had it, she was officially crazy. Now she has to stay for two whole months surrounded by the real crazy people and doctors who would want to poke and prod and 'treat' this supposed disorder.

Well jokes on them, or so she thought. She'd only have to stay there for two months, grin and bear it and she'd be allowed back to her old life and she'd be able to explain to her friends what had really happened and everything would go back to normal...

Stunningly piercing eyes, a warm friendly smile, flowing mahogany hair - these are just a few of the things her friends may have said about her before the incident. Teres had been frequently told that she was a little tall for a girl, coming in at about 6ft and being naturally quite thin and lithe - she used to be little conscientious about her height, but that was before she got older and 'filled out' to put it one way. Her height and lengthy legs now being more of a point of confidence she carried herself well, confident and happy.
Now she has dark bags under her eyes and seems to have lost the spring in her step. It's quite astonishing really how much mental change can effect ones appearance, though it's evident in her current state that Teres is both sleep deprived and suffering a number of side effects from the new course of meds currently running through her system.

Personality:
Teres is, or rather was a very carefree but focused girl. She seemed to have a relaxed and easygoing nature that others just liked and were naturally attracted to (for the most part anyway). She hardly argued with her friends or caused problems with anyone in authority, generally being liked by everyone who knew her. To her closest friends she was a little more open, joking and sometimes even rebellious in nature, but she always knew where to draw the line or cut her losses and apologise for whatever it was that she had done. It's not that she didn't have strong views or opinions, it was just that she never seemed to strongly feel the need to make others share in those views, always preferring to either just get along or avoid those individuals she clashed badly with. When she was younger she had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, always reading a history book or some magazine about some country across the globe - as she matured and grew into her late teens she developed more 'varied' interests, occasionally drinking or even smoking with her friends - though never anything too wild or out of control, she always knew when to say no or make up an excuse to leave.

Teres was born during a terrible storm, the hospital even losing power as thunder cracked overhead and the wind raged fiercely. Unaware to her, her mother died giving birth to her leaving her father heartbroken and as he saw it 'alone'. He struck a bargain, the details of which are known only to him and the foul creature whom answered his pleas. Teres lived what she had always thought was a perfectly normal life, never seeming to notice how sometimes very rarely a person or two seemed to be terrified of her, or never really thinking about why it was that all cats seemed to hate her with a passion. Her family was pretty much an average well to do household (demonic pacts aside), Teres growing up as what her mother proudly had boasted a wonderful little girl. She excelled at school and had lots of friends, even continuing to do so at High school as she continued to get older.

Her teenage years were a little rougher, though compared to most of her friends she was really quite tame and did little to get into any real trouble. "Such a beautiful young woman" had beamed her mother across the dinner table on the morning of her eighteenth birthday, neither of them noticing her father's brief frown as they ate their breakfasts in happy bliss of the events that would unfold later that day.

Since then things have actually been pretty awful at home, her parents yelling and screaming at each other. She'd never seen her dad so angry as he had been then, never seen her mother more upset. It was almost like they believed it wasn't her fault, but still constantly fought about it. Of course she had no idea of the real reason behind her father's black mood.

Hopefully things will go back to normal after she gets back from California.

She has dark obsidian hair with a pair of golden eyes. She stands at an average 5'6" with her hair traveling all the way down to her waist. Sarah usually keeps her hair pulled back by two clips back at home, but here she rarely cares to take care of the sickeningly straight locks, only putting it up to impress any newcomers.

Personality:
Normally: She does everything she can to keep herself nice and happy. She can sometimes be rather clumsy and usually is indecisive about what she wants from other people.
At the Home: Everything is going to shit, so she acts like it too. She loves to make people squirm and will do anything to have a good time. She also loves to flirt and shows off her assets when she can.

Her illness didn't actually start exposing itself until she got to her second year of high school. During her freshman year, she wasn't popular, but she had a huge amount of friends. They thought Sarah didn't have enough opinions of her own, that she just followed along with everyone's decisions like a lost puppy. Friendless and feeling incredibly alone, she decided to take revenge on the people who had wronged her and gained a liking for giving people discomfort.

Her junior year of high school, she decided to start all over again and be friendly. She got a new small group of friends and it was fun from day to day, but she would get random extreme mood swings that made her closed off from her friends. No one knows what set her off during the incident, but it was nothing good.

She has been at the Home the longest out of all the other kids and she loves to flaunt it. Sarah does her best to act like a little angel around the other nurses, but sometimes gets set off by newcomers.

People with Anorexia Nervosa are likely to refuse eating certain foods, diet even though they're thin, and are often stressed when others refer to mealtime or eating. It usually occurs in victims of sexual violence, or survivors of traumatic experiences.

Incident
Calla had passed out again, it was the third time that week. Her mother rushed her to the hospital and when the nurse went to put in her IV as per usual, Calla snapped awake and started to panic. She begged the nurse not to do it, and when more nurses filed in to sedate her she grabbed the IV from one of them and stabbed it into their arm. Being as weak as she was, she was swiftly sedated afterwards, and when she woke up they told her she was going to a 'group home'.

Appearance
Calla was once a very pretty girl, but after her father was taken away and she stopped eating and grew pale and thin. Her teeth have been yellowing ever since she stopped consuming a normal amount of food, but she does her best to whiten them. She usually wears clothes that are far too baggy, and the remnants of her curvy figure are long gone. She stands at 5'4 and most of the muscle mass from her healthy days have wasted away, leaving her arms and legs lanky and frail. Her pale brown eyes have sunk just a little, and they don't retain their usual brightness. Her once long and shiny ombré hair has grown dull and lost all of its volume, though she tries to keep it well done by brushing it daily (a lot of it falls out) and doing fancy braids with it.

Personality
Calla was once an athletic and carefree girl. She was the queen of the school, and although she still hangs out with the popular kids at lunch, she knows they talk about her behind her back. She has never come to terms with the fact that her father was a bad man, and his arrest still haunts her to this day. Ever since he left she stopped eating and gets slightly stressed every time there is a mention of food. She's very introverted, and refuses to talk to anyone about personal subjects. She doesn't even like telling people her date of birth, because she's afraid they'll use it against her like the cop used her testimony against her dad. Other than that, she spends her time being concerned about her weight and appearance.

Last night Daddy came into my room again, but this time I thought it was a stranger. When I tried to scream Daddy put his hand over my mouth and slid into my bed. He whispered into my ear how much he loved me, and he started to touch me. I've never felt more loved! Today at dinner Daddy squeezed my leg, and gave me a loving look. I think Mommy noticed because she frowned, but she didn't say anything and I was too happy to care. I hope Daddy comes to visit again!'

As a child, Calla grew up almost normally. Her father had a good job, and her mother stayed at home to take care of her. It wasn't until she turned the ripe old age of five that her father started to show her his own special version of love. He regularly crept into her room, and touched her in places she didn't know were inappropriate until he was satisfied enough to leave. She got used to his visits, and whenever her mom asked her if anything was going on she told her everything was normal and that daddy loved her a lot. It wasn't until she was eight that her mother finally called the police.

'Dear Diary,
I think mommy is getting mad at daddy. Today a police officer with a big yellow badge came to our doorstep, and asked me questions about daddy. I told him that daddy loved me very very much and that everything was alright. I didn't know why this officer was here and it confused me. Then the officer took daddy, and put him in the car. I screamed and beat against the window, but the officer pulled me back and left with daddy. I'm scared, and daddy isn't here to comfort me tonight. Mommy tried to hug me but I wouldn't let her.'

Her father stayed one night at the police department, and then came back home. Of course Calla was overjoyed, but that night her father didn't come to comfort her and love her. Instead he left the house, after a brief scuffle in the kitchen with Calla's mom. All Calla remembered was a lot of yelling, but her door was closed and she couldn't understand it. In the morning her mom had a bruise on her shoulder, it was hidden by her shirt but when she moved the entire inky splotch would reveal itself. Calla didn't understand it, and her mom wouldn't discuss it. By the age of fourteen Calla stopped getting visits from her dad, and her mom would only get more and more purple bruises. By then Calla was old enough to know what they meant, but she wouldn't admit it to herself. She would never admit that her dad was being abusive to her mom.

When the police came the second time, they searched the house. What they found was shocking-dozens of pictures of little girls all undressed and curled up on the floor crying. They questioned Calla and her mother, but again Calla refused to admit that her father had done anything wrong. Her years of abuse had conditioned her brain to think none of it was wrong. Eventually, when they had shown her the pictures of the girls at least a dozen times, she told them her father had loved her physically. Apparently that's all they needed, he was put on trial and plenty of girls (even her mother) testified against him.

After that debacle, Calla found an outlet for her emotional stress and pressure. Her weight. She stopped eating, and after she had dropped a few pounds she realized that worry about her figure made her forget everything else. So she started to diet, but stopped all the sports she was a part of. Her energy was waning and she couldn't waste it all on sports or she would pass out. So she stuck to being a couch potato, that ate next to nothing and spent her day on the television. She stayed that way up until her incident with the nurses, then she was put away to the group home.

Personality: both how they act normally or at their own home if those two are different. How he acts normally is rather strange speaking to himself or when speaking to other people he will speak with his puppet and speak to him as if he was a real person. At times he likes to speak riddles mostly to himself but at times to other people. He likes to make up his own little world that he could play in imaging this world he could explore in.

Because of this he was isolated form his peers and only hung out with his imaginary friends, When he started to go into high school he tried to make friend but was made fun of by his peers making him depressed. At the age of 14 he cut both his wrists and was sent to the place where he is now with his dog hand puppet that lets him cope with his life.
