Hearing that Red Strike could finish the fight, Miles gave a quick nod and headed back to the HQ quickly, remembering the route there since he's been in this part of the city, he called for a pick up and met with the air transportation, which got him back to HQ faster. As he made it back, he looked around trying to find Tia with his vision so to meet with her and talk.

Miles saw the Tech guy outside with the head medic hugging and saw Ro'Kun was back already through teleportation. Miles was a bit annoyed seeing that he could've made it back faster through that sort of travel but shrugged and stopped where he was. A smirk came upon his face, realizing where Tia was and headed her way when he called for her down the highway Yo Tia!

Rey "Glitch"

Taken by sudden surprise at the quick movement Evergreen made to hug against him, Rey just stood there for a moment listening and hearing the cocking and clicking of guns being aimed, Glitch waved his fingers to the men to stand down. I mean, the guy didn't want to be accidentally shot during this mushy moment....he don't get these much. Rey took his arms and gently embraced her, using his hands to caress her back

There....there? he wasn't used to being in this position of comforting someone so....he was going to wing it. I know this is a.....difficult and controversial situation to handle. But it's sad to say it's in man's nature now to be so cruel. I don't blame for what you did as we are both just a Doc and tech genius who were dragged into this line of work by people who fear us. he said.

Maybe we could talk about this and see if we can come to an understanding...unless you would like to come back to my lab and I can try and cheer you up.....not that I'm trying to take advantage of you and taking this opportunity to get into your pants....I already had a mishap happen to me before- um....is there anything you'd liked to do? something that could take your mind off this for a while? Rey was trying to get back on Evergreen's good side. She was really the only one he's spent most of his leisure time with...someone he could actually call.....friend.

""Whoa whoa whoa whoa!" he said aloud, turning and speeding up the stairs and flipping over Shiver to stop in front of her in the next room, holding a finger in front of her face. "Waaaiiiit a second. How are you alive? Are you ok? You need to lie down?" he pointed behind him with his thumb. "I can get you some water or something. That was fucking acid!" He waved his hands about, completely lost as to all that happened in HQ after she had been teleported away."

Shiver stopped and looked at Ro'kun. She really looked at him and she smiled. She was finally seeing something. Shiver was slightly shorter than he was and he was acting so worried that it was comical. Naaa he doesn't, he can't...I think he likes me a little bit. Shiver said, "Evergreen fixed it. Ro'kun shut up." While he was stunned she leaned into him and kissed him. After a moment she turned and walked further into the HQ a blush and a smile on her face.

"It's been an aweful day. Evergreen and I got into it. She was saving the villains and I had to stop her. It got a little out of hand. I admit I could have handled it better but ....ugh."

The battle was over and as any good soldier Jess was happy to have made it through alive.

Then as she secures Pixie and her two prisoners for transport she becomes briefly aware of a disturbance in the magnetic field around her followed by a sharp pain in her chest.

She looks down puzzled at the site of her sudden pain and is forced to realize that there is a bullet lodged in her right lung.

~Need to address the meaning of bulletproof~ Is what she's thinking as her vast reserves of strength fade quickly away.

She doesn't fall as much as sink to her knees then coughs up foamy blood.

~Bad marks for letting down your guard~ She hears her handler say as she struggles against coughing again

"Lady, lady are you okay?" begs the TK girl as she stares at the girl she'd so hoped could help her stay alive.

Evergreen held onto Rey as she fought to control the horrible memories that threatened to crush her spirit once more. The cold of Stalingrad, the smell of the hospitals around the battle of the Somme, Leipzig, Gettysburg and stretching back into the dim history of memory; they were names forever etched into her heart.

"They say time heals all wounds; they have no idea of how wrong they are." she whispers into her friend's chest.

Then she looks up at Rey staring into his eyes her own green eyes haunted by her past. She begins to say something but closes her lips cutting off any chance of escape.

She let's go, let's her emotions disappear into the Earth Light, the source knowing that her mind and spirit are beyond the power of the healing energy of life. She must heal herself, find a way as she has so many times past to heal a broken heart.

He backed up a step as she really looked at him, and he flushed a bit at her stare. "Evergreen fixed it. Ro'kun shut up." "Well, cool then I gues-mmmmm" he lost his words when she suddenly kissed him, and after she passed him by he blinked, stunned even more. He lifted a finger to say something, but then lowered it. A hot girl had just kissed him. Smoke began pouring out of his ears, and he promptly fell on his ass. He hadn't expected that at all. "My one true love is food!" he yelled at her and shook his fist, but couldn't deny that the kiss felt nice.

Having already hit the floor on his ass, he suddenly lost all of his energy in his body. Kisses and lack of a big breakfast made him positively weak. Like a dog, he placed his chin on the floor and groaned for a bit, before deciding he needed to make his way into the kitchen. Curiously enough, instead of getting to his feet, he lifted his body up with his arms and walked on his hands to the kitchen, his legs swaying lazily in the air. It was just that kinda day.

Shiver saw the alert on her com and it showed Jess' location and she teleported to her just in time to grab Jess and Pixie and get to medical. The villain got blasted with ice bullets for his trouble. She yelled as soon as she hit Medical and disengaged Pixie from Jess. The gurney came round the corner and she lifted her and put her on it.

"Hurry up! Where's Evergreen?"

Shiver located her on the comlink and teleported to her. "Jess needs you now! She was shot in the chest. I think her lung is collapsed." Wasting no time She grabbed her shoulder and teleported her back to Jess. "You want to save lives? Save hers. Fix her!"

Shiver went back to the pool and just looked at it. She stood by the edge for no apparent reason and closed her eyes and let herself fall into the pool. She floated to the top and wondered how Michael was doing. She hadn't seen him since the doctor woke him up. Getting out of the pool she teleported leaving the water behind her. It was a weird way to dry off but hey if you can do it, why not right? Shiver went back to her rooms but before she opened her door she looked at his. She hesitated and then she knocked.

For Evergreen her reaction was as could be expected of any dedicated doctor as she left Rey's arms.

"Help me get her into surgery, I have to remove the bullet before I can heal her"

Barked Amelia as she touched Jess allowing her power to sweep through the young girl's form and identify anything foreign to her body.

The bullet stood out the most but inside the girl she detected something made of plastic and silicone attached to her heart. In her womb was another similar device but it was a series of smaller devices attached to her spine and at to base of her skull that were shocking.

She had seen such handiwork before an prayed never again to see it but here it was. Of course these implants were smaller and more modern but the placement unmistakably his work. Drifter had been wired and more completely than any of those in the Übermensch project she thought now long dead.

Once Jessica was in the surgical bay Evergreen began to glow exuding an ambient aura of power that would stabilize the girl on her table. The first order of surgery was the removal of the bullet and it went quickly then with a practiced ease she removed all of the sensors having done so before one other children. The ones placed near Jesse's ovaries though caused her to pause as she saw to her horror that both had been damaged in a process of harvesting.

Finished with a task that she had thought long done since the late 1950s Amelia began repairing all the damage done by the bullet and by her removal of the devices. All in all the procedure took almost an hour but once it was done Evergreen looked down at Jess and asked.

"How are you feeling Jessica?"

Jesse found herself waking up to a question from a doctor

Around her was the evidence that she was in an operating room but she felt fine.

"I 'm tiptop Doctor my thanks though I must admit to some confusion for I thought I had been shot" she said answering the previous question

The doctor proved to be even more confusing than your average squint when she confirmed that Jesse had indeed been shot and had the bullet removed. The most confusing part was that all this had happened in the last hour and a half.

Then wrapped in a sheet so as not to shock the sensibility of the staff Jessica flew off to her room to shower and dress.

Rey was watching Evergreen still thinking of having her come back to his lab to....have a moment but pervy things popped into his head for the moment before disappearing. If only I made a time machine, we could prove that theory once and for all. I think you should listen to "Time in a bottle by Jim Croce....wonderful lyrics....I'm sure things would settle mentally for you after listening to that music genius.

When she looked as if she was going to speak, she kept her mouth shut until she left to go handle something else dealing with Drifter. Rey watched Ever leave and waved to the security to head back in as he himself. He would always leave himself open if EVer needed him. He headed back into the HQ to start the tests on his drone.

Tia looked up at him. "No. I can't apologize. I was in the right. I'm her boss. I can't let her think she can pick and choose what rules to follow or that she can walk all over me." She sighed frustrated. "Sometimes being the boss is a lot harder than you might think." Tia hugged him and said, "There are days I would rather just be a normal girl. It would be so much easier....and I hate the paperwork." She chuckled to herself. "Okay my pity party is over. What is next on the agenda?"

Nearly an hour after the battle, Erin sat in her Suite. She had put her uniform in the closet and now sat on the floor in front of the couch. In her lap was a half-eaten gallon-tub of cookie-dough ice cream, which she ate with a spoon. She didn't care about the calories that went into her body, since her metabolism was insanely fast.

Erin could feel her body groan with every move. The massive amount of volts she'd absorbed today had left every muscle in her body aching and sore. She decided to go to the hot tub and soak the aches away. She changed into her bathing suit, but grabbed her utility belt, since she planned to make a pit stop. She arrived at Glitch's lab and stepped inside. "You think you can help me with something?" She asked, completely ignoring the fact that she wore a belt of weapons with her bikini.

She removed her collapsing-staff from the belt and then set it on the table in front of him. She then produced the Taser from her hip as well. "You're smart, right? If you used that massive-frickin brain of yours, do you think we might be able to combined my staff and my Taser into one tool?"

Doctor

After she'd finished her work on Jessica and had released her Amelia remembered Rey bringing up the song, Time in a bottle and it took her back to the 1970s. She'd never met Jim Croce because like many poets he'd died so young.

Croce wrote the lyrics after his wife Ingrid told him she was pregnant with his son, Adrian and they say sang it to her on a cold December day in 1970.

It was a simple song that dealt with mortality and how there never seemed to be enough and for most a poignant subject but for Evergreen it held a different meaning. For her time was a reminder of her curse and it's limit confined to the short lives of those she loved.

So many people dead and so many dying that it broke her heart. A city in shambles after an earthquake and the Somoza government was squandering resources meant to help the worst rumor of all that the President was selling the plasma in the blood banks to fatten his bank account.

She was dressed as a Benedictine sister as she walked the critical wards of the crowded hospital. She couldn't heal people completely as it would draw attention to her that she feared more than anything.

Rey "Glitch"

It's been a little over an hour since Rey got back to working on the prototype drone. He already had the scripts ready but the physical make up on the drone was task of it's own. Having to put together an alloy to make the drone durable was not easy. welding and testing the metal, he wanted it to be light but could withstand a good amount of damage.

His chime went off when his system pulled up an approaching individual and looked at the monitor to see who it was. It was the face of the new girl, Pixie. When she walked him, Rey turned to welcome her Well hey there Comic con-whoa! Rey looked her up and down as she was wearing what appeared to be a utility belt with a bikini. oh...my googolplex....what is she wearing...it's sexy teenyboppers....gadget edition....is she setting me up...she should know tech and gadgets are my turn-ons...ok ok don't look directly at her.

When she was explaining what she needed, Rey was looking away, looking awkward like he was trying not to look at her in a sexual harassment type of way. Yeah uhh...I think I can help you....with that hehe....um so...you just need a shock baton huh...let me see what I can do- what are you wearing?

Jess had only taken moments to dress in more appropriate wear for wandering the facility after she'd inspected herself for evidence of her recent failure. So as she floated to the outside pool area she took stock of what she had found.

Gone were the little peepers that the squints back at Lively island had put in her body and for the first time in her life her magnetic aura felt pure.

~Is that why I feel like I could go super sonic?~ She thought as she found a spot by the pool to stretch out her favorite beach towel.
~I feel clean, what did that ginger squint do to me?~

So many thoughts flew through her mind that it was surprising when she remembered the TK girl.

Tapping her commband she said
"Drifter to command please advise the condition of an unidentified Meta Female that was in my custody when I was wounded?"

The subject is presently in Pelican Bay Super Max Meta containment came back her answer

Jessica uncharacteristically thanked the grunt who helped her then put on some music (Oui by In grid) a kind of french modern Tango that she found relaxing.

She then began to dance to the music her feet suspended on thin air. She was by no means a spectacular dancer but her conditioning and youth forgave any lack of skill as she rocked her body provocatively.

Ro'Kun made his way into the kitchen, then pushed off the floor and landed atop the floor on his feet gracefully. He washed his hands since they had floor dust on them, and then set about on the kitchen, taking his 8 sausages, 2 cups of juice, 3 cheeseburgers, and fries of course, to the lounge. Don't ask how he balanced it all.

Ro'Kun plopped down on the couch and decided to relax and clear his head. He began to eat his fill, nomming and chomping, and burping. No one was in here so he didn't really care. Plus he probably wouldn't even if someone WAS in here. He downed one of the cups of grape juice, before his cell phone went off. He answered it, and turned the TV on as he did so. "Hello? Yeah hey dude....yeah...Ken, I know I missed classes. I've been kicking ass and getting bitches...seriously I'm a hero...channel...12..."
He turned the TV on to channel 12 just as his best bud from high school asked him to. The TV switched on, and suddenly the news blared. "Downtown there seems to be an unknown creature of immense proportions that has dug its way out from below the city, destroying sky scrapers and wrecked streets. 120 dead, and an unknown amount wounded."

Omega a.k.a. Michael Watts

Omega's eyes slowly opened to the dark room where he had been recovering. It took a few seconds, but his eyes shot open as he remembered the last thing that happened to him.

"The Metas...." Omega said softly placed his hand on his head. Not because it hurt, but due to what he remembered about the attack. "That bitch." He said with venom as he remembered the Meta that left him pretty much helpless while the others had focused their attacks on him. He sat himself up and looked around the room, not recognizing where it was. He could hear soothing voice, but did nothe know who it may have belonged to.

Omega looked at his limbs first, and though it was dark, he was only looking for anything superficial. Everything seems to be in place. He thought before he started moving his legs, arms, and digits. He smiled as he felt as if he had not even gotten pulverized out in the city. He was sure someone got a good kick out of it, which made him chuckle at the thought.

The man, got himself out of bed and started walking, unfazed by what he remembered happening. It was weird. He could regenerate at very fast rate, but he had times where it took a while to fully get over feeling fatigued or dizzy; from head wounds especially. He felt the complete opposite however. It wouldn't be reaching for him to say that he feels better than he was before he went out to deal with Metas.

As he walked across the room, he seemed to be getting closers to the person singing. With an eyebrow raised, he quietly opened the door to exit the room, only to enter what looked like a waiting area for the medical wing. Omega looked around the empty area before his eyes locked onto Dr. Evergreen singing in her office. She appeared to be in her own world, so he decided not bother her with his gratitude for possibly being responsible for his rapid recovery. Instead, he grabbed a pen and paper and wrote:

"Hey Doc, I didn't want to bother you while you were..." Omega looked at the doctor and then back to his paper. "busy in the office. I just wanted to say that I'm grateful for making me feel even better than healthy. You really gotta let me know how you did that. And I promise not to give you a hard time in the future. I'll keep myself extra safe. BTW, you're a great singer..." Omega mentally facepalmed at himself. "-Omega" Omega smiled as he made the short letter float into her room and stealthily on her desk. Leaving the doctor to herself, he exited the medical wing and looked up into the distance as hearly heard a crash coming from the city.

"Well fuck..." He said as he felt he was just about to break his promise to the doctor before she could even get to read it. "Team! We got a giant monster in the city. Omega is enroute." Omega said through comms as he flew through the sky. Just a little faster and... catch! Omega caught a tank with his TK and guided it to a building.

"HEY ASSHOLE! YEAH YOU! FIGHT ME!" The monster didn't seem to hear how, which made Omega scowl a bit. Heven looked down at the soldiers getting out of the dented tank. "Is that all of you?" Omega asked.

Roger! The soldier said before Omega landed next to the tank. He used his TK to sling it up over his head before catching it.

"Watch this." He said as he flew high into the sky before stopping. With a toss using both his super strength and TK, Omega made the trashed tank fly towards the creature as if it was fired from a cannon. The tank his the creature, making it stumble over and cry in pain beforeit set its eyes on Omega. "Now you see me? Good!" Omega said before he started flying west toward the Golden Gate Bridge. "Tia send word to whoever to evacuate that big bridge that always gets destroyed in movies." He ordered on comms.@RumikoOhara@Wick@POOHEAD189

SHIVER AND INERTIA

Shiver had just knocked on Michael's door and she heard the call about the city. She teleported and ducked as she came out blasting at the creature. She didn't know how to describe it. She did know that ice worked with nearly everything. She fired giant ice spears from her hands at him and she brought the temperature down as she teleported around him while dodging the dark matter he seemed to be blasting.

Shiver landed on it and stabbed him with her ice and made it start to freeze his blood. This got a high pitched squeal of pain from it and she felt it grab onto her and she teleported just as she was thrown. It resulted in her coming out of the port at an uncontrolled rate of speed and she flew into a building hitting it hard and landing in a heap on the ground.

It took her a minute to gather herself and she ported back onto it's neck. "Omega? Could you find something we could tie it up with? What about the electical cables? That should juice him up a bit."

"Ro'kun keep him busy." She said as the creature kept trying to hit the red speed demon.

"No problem Omega." Tia said while dialing the chief of police on her cell phone. She had gone downstairs when Miles had said he wanted to train. "Naomi and I are on our way (NPC)." Tia showed up with Naomi who teleported them to the scene. Tia blasted at the creature and it screamed but started shooting at her and Ro'kun.

Tia noticed that Shiver was in harms way but knew she wouldn't let that stop her. "Shiver? Do we have a plan yet?"

"Yes, I thought we might tie it up with the electrical cables and see if that gets him off his high horse." Tia looked at her as the creature kept trying to reach Shiver and was only barely missing as she kept causing him pain.

"Did it occur to you yet that you will be electrocuted too?" Shiver chuckled. "Well you just brought that to my attention, so if you want to you can be the one shooting ice into his blood stream. I'm tough, I'll port out when Omega gets it all set up."

"Ok but let me know if you want me to trade spots." Tia said as she blasted one of the creature's claws off. Tia Froze the creature. "Hurry I am not sure how long it will hold him!"

Erin looked quizzically, setting her tub of ice cream on the table as well. "What so you mean?" She asked, but then stopped. "Oh you mean the belt. Well i was gonna go to the hot tubs after I came to you, and I obviously couldnt carry my ice cream and my weapons at the same time, duh." She said with a laugh, the whole logic of it making complete sense in her mind.

"A shock baton sounds good, but I'd like to keep the length of my staff." She said. "So I can have, like, this much range." She spread her arms to their full length to emphasize the length of her staff. "But you're the smart one, so I trust your judgement."

Red Strike (Ro'Kun)

The creature was huge and reptilian, towering above all but the tallest buildings and ripping them apart with its gigantic limbs. The last thing it expected was to be was attacked by super powered 'insects' after it had been asleep for 10,000 years. Its tail was the size of a train, and it whipped it back and forth in annoyance and pain as it was hit and stabbed with Ice.

Red Strike had lost himself in thought as he finished his meal, before he saw his friends on the television screen fighting the beast not moments later. "How the fuck do I get there?" he asked himself, before heading outside and leaping up to the top of the HQ. Thankfully, he had a good view of the city from here and a giant monster wasn't hard to spot. He stretched briefly, and then leaped in great bounds towards the city before making it right atop a building next to the creature.

"Ro'kun keep him busy." he heard Shiver ask him. He gave her a salute, and as it was focused on Tia, Ro'kun revved up the biggest blast he'd ever conjured with fire. It began as a small swirl in his hands, before getting large and larger and more fierce, before he had a literal firestorm above his head. A giant swirling ball of fiery power. "Hey loser." he said, and the creature barely glanced at him, before it saw the huge firestorm at the ready. "Catch."
He blasted it at the monster, taking the blow full in the head and causing it to crash into a nearby skyscraper. It didn't demolish the building, but wrecked its side pretty good before it found its balance again. Its face was scorched, and it roared in anger. Its next blow nearly hit Ro'kun. It hit his building though, sending him flying into another building, crashing through a window and landing amid a bunch of scared civilians.
"Oh my god, are you alright?" one woman asked him.
"Yeeeeeaaaaaa I'm just fine." he said bashfully, then launched himself out of the window again and kicked the monster straight on the nose, sending it stumbling backwards and roaring again.

It was difficult to describe how wonderful she felt but it didn't change the fact that she felt whole for the first time in her memory. It had to be the removal of the peepers that she'd had to compensate for in her personal field like people with a damaged leg did when they walked.

Then while she lay back in the sun Jess began to make plans for a holiday. She was certain that Tia would say no to such a flight of fancy dismissing it as unnecessary or bad timing but Jessica could care less what her overseer thought on the subject. How could the hyperactive blonde even begin to understand what it felt like to be so stunted in personal growth that she didn't even know which sex she preferred.

When others were growing up they had peers to associate with of there own age. When others were in their early teens they experimented with kissing and tested the limits of their morals sexualy. But while people her age thought of how far they were willing to go or if they would remain virgins till marriage Jess had been involved in a training program that was now so ingrained it was involuntary.
