Watching the girl carefully, he noticed her reaction when mentioning about how he noticed her fighting skills. It seemed that she may not have any interests in fighting at all and not to be viewed only through her fighting. With Miles towering over her and looking down staring, he averted his eyes for a moment It's not necessarily a bad thing. I usually don't say this because I think it's corny but, you're doing this for the greater good. It has purpose...we are...so-called, heroes. trying to cheer her a little.

Miles was watching her blushing when she looked at him asking if he wanted to walk with her. He still needed to explore and well, it would be a bit pleasant to explore with company. But...what was wrong with this girl, her face was constantly red....is she just nervous, was Miles a little intimidating, hmm...she could be having a crush on him but he wasn't going to look too deep on the matter and just oblige to join her Yeah...um I don't mind... letting her pull on his hand.

She was indeed cute, but how old is she? If this was indeed the beginning of a friendship or something closer, he'd need to know but he would ask her later....screw it. Walking with her So uh....if you don't mind me asking...what are your abilities and hero name? And...how old are you? being curious about profile, asking her bluntly.

Red Strike (Ro'Kun)

Ro'Kun waited on his new friends to get dressed, and as he did so he looked around the room. He suddenly jumped when he heard a delighted squeal from the back. It was a girl who had just wandered in with a high protein shake. The handsome young man watched her for a second, then smiled. "Hey!" he called, loud enough for her to (hopefully) hear past her music. "We're throwing a pool party, if you want to come join us. You can just lounge around, you don't have to swim."

He saw another female figure (Naomi) pass through the hallway, and he cried out before she made it out of earshot. "Hey girly!" he cried out with cupped hands. "You hear that! There's gonna be a party in a bit. You wanna join?" He leaped to his feet effortlessly and gave them both a mischievous grin, before hearing his new friend Brian entering the room.
"You ready my man lets go make his happen!"
"We'll see. I'm letting these two fine young ladies decide if they'd be the first to join."

At the sound of a loud voice announcing a pool party, Naomi paused and turned around. She noticed a face she didn't recognize, but recalled being at the battle. Silently, she approached the others and once she was standing before them she asked, "Did we win?" Naomi waited for their response, sighing in relief when she was informed of the battles end. "I can't get my stitches wet, but I guess.....I guess I could join you." Naomi wasn't entirely sure it was a good idea, but after getting off on the wrong foot with a few of her new comrades earlier, she felt the need to try and rectify it. Even if she wasn't friends with them, she could still be amicable, instead of her usual angry attitude. Hey big sis, I'm making nice, Naomi thought to herself wryly, imagining the look on her eldest sister's face if she knew Naomi was actually trying to get along with people.

Kain's story

Kain lays still in his bed dreaming of crazy things as nurses check his vitals and lower his medication. They were going to have to let him wake up to asses the damage.

As the drugs were reduced Kain slowly came to. His mind more shattered than his aching body, filled with thoughts of anger sorrow and despair.
When vision returned to his blurry eyes he found a sweet young blonde nurse looking over him with a hopeful, leading to grateful smile.

Kain was in no position to endure medical staff fuss, but she treated him like a friend not a patient and he soon found her bubbly innocent positivity contagious.

It was only after she had been talking to him for hours, occasionally recording readings from the machines or offering him a dosage of morphine (which he always refused) that Kain realised how horrid he must look.

He had little means of movement or communication but soon his concerns were forgotten as she distracted him with stories and updates of all the others.
Even with his limited movement and expression she could see the frustration her news was bringing, feeling guilty she went against better judgement to give him a treat.

It was only after most people left to join the pool party did the girl break the rules...
She snuck in a soda can. After consuming the drink she gently opened a gap between his bandages and nervously pressed the aluminium to his skin.

It offered an unexplainable relief, greater then water was to thirst or hunger to food. He chewed and swirled it around savouring the taste and texture. It melted into a liquid metal and was absorbed into his skin. It tasted like life itself.

With it he found strength, using it to move his body in ways his muscles failed him. After a few more cans and other various metal nick nacks, Kain could somewhat function, if only with slow focus.

Having consumed so much soda and fighting off sleep for so long the lovely blonde named Sarah's trusting nature was easily persuaded by Kain's devilish tongue and she was ready to break even bigger rules. Kain's little pallor tricks had entertained and excited her interests. She was eager to see what else he could do.

The party a perfect distraction, Sarah awkwardly wheeled out a heavy utensil trolley. Slipping out the house she quickly wheeled Kain to the garage. In no time they were inside and Sarah was looking around in awe.
Kain was wearing a jacket over his patient robes and bandages. A poor disguise. He absorbed some more tools in which he used to build himself limb braces. Awkwardly and slowly he manipulated the metal surrounding him until he was seated in the passenger seat of his prized car.

As great as it felt, all was not right. He had never been in the passenger seat before. Maybe it was the drugs in his system or something about his near death experience, perhaps a bit of both plus something more.

Sarah's long lean legs slip into the drivers seat as she ducks under the roof and takes hear seat behind the wheel. A bright eager smile on her pretty little face. Kain was envious and drawn to the playful gaze in her eyes.

"Keys?" She asked taunting and teasingly. Kain manages to smirk back as the car flairs to life. She giggles softly. Looking at Kain's bandaged face Sarah pulls out a pair of aviators and carefully leans over him and places them on his face.
Unamused Kain secretly appreciated the tiny anonymity they provided.

She smiled and then the engined roared as they took off. The wheels screeching as rubber burned drowning out Sarah's own excited screams as the car accelerated far faster then expected.
Despite her position behind the wheel Kain was truly and secretly in control.

This was not just a joy ride, they were not going out to a party or for drinks. Under the cover of night Kain and his new friend went to explore and investigate the scene of carnage.

Pool Party

Jess heard that there was to be a pool party and jetted down to her room going through her third hands free clothing change of the day. This time she shifts into a simple orange bikini and sandals with a matching beach towel that converts nicely into a sarong.

Then once she's prepared heads down to the pool admittedly a bit excited as this is a first for her. And once there she stakes out a lounge chair from which to watch the other meta.

Starved for friendship after being so confined in her former life she's like a bird offered the freedom of the sky after years of being caged. She knows she comes across as Cheeky, Irreverent and Strange but she could describe everyone she meets strange when measured by her former existence.

Wicked heard Michael's heart beating as she lay in the crook of his arm. She closed her eyes and remembered another time, another team and another superhero. She smiled and opened her eyes. Climbing out of bed she grabbed her clothes and started getting dressed. She felt his eyes on her and she turned around. "I should go and check on Tia and the others that were injured." It was getting noisy in the main area of the HQ. Wicked pulled back the curtain a moment and saw what looked like a pool party in it's beginning stages. She grinned and said. "Looks like the others are getting ready to have a pool party." She turned around and climbed back onto the bed and kissed him. "Do you want to join them?"@funnyguy

Tia and Grant had been talking about random things for a couple of hours. They heard the party stirring to life and Tia asked him. "Do you feel like joining them in the pool?" She felt like she and Grant were getting close fast and she didn't want to let go of that. She was enjoying it immensely. @Blop

Naomi rolled up the legs of her sleep pants and sat at the edge of the pool. She placed her feet in the heated water, leaning back on her arms. She did actually wish she could join the fun inside the pool, but she didn't want to wet her bandages and deal with all that. More and more of the team was coming, and Naomi felt relief that everyone was okay. Which was weird, since Naomi didn't think she particularly cared. She did notice that the one guy from this morning was missing. She hoped he wasn't hurt too badly, and debated going to check on him. He seemed like a pain in the ass, but his stunt with the flagpole and that worker was pretty funny. Naomi decided against it though, and stayed silent watching the events of the night unfold. Tomorrow she would ask for more details about the attack, but for now a calm night was a good distraction.

Omega a.k.a Michael Watts

Michael laid on his back in bed with his hands meeting behind his head comfortably. He just watched as Wicked dressed herself. He'd honestly admit that he was going to miss her without those clothes.

When she mentioned the injured, Michael couldn't help but slightly wince. He was still bothered with how things went down in the city, so much that he barely noticed the commotion. Perhaps it was because someone kept his mind off of pretty much everything for the last hour.

"A pool party?" Michael was both surprised and impressed. He didn't think something like that would be allowed. Maybe superheroes aren't as lame as I thought... "I think we all need a party... Oh and I finally have someone to drink with!" He chuckled as he got out of bed and used his telekinesis to makensure a pair of floral patterned swim trunks fly into his grasp. "What are you gonna wear?" He said as he slipped his trunks on and began tying the draw string.

Sound Wave

It was right after James finished working out that he heard about the pool party and his interests peaked. A pool party were things that he did a lot when he was in school and it would be a good way to get to know his teammates better. He quickly hurried to his living quarters to get out of his costume and put on his swim trunks. He was glad that he packed them when he came to the base and once he was ready he rushed to the pool and came as the party was getting started.

"Am I late for the party? It's time to have some fun and rock some tunes!" he shouted and set down his portable Ipod speakers and blasted a song. He hoped that his teammates would like the song choice and joined in on the laugh.

Red Strike (Ro'Kun)

He gave Naomi a cheerful, even playful smile and a nod. "We'd love to have you." Minutes later, carried literal bucket loads of food towards the pool area, amazed and happy that word had spread so quickly through the HQ. Ro'Kun hadn't even been here before and he was already starting shit. He carried the food to the tables and set it all up. It was ramshackle and mixed, but it was free food. Who could resist? Suddenly he couldn't believe his ears, but Rick Astley's "Never gonna give you up" began plahying on this new guys ipod and Ro'Kun couldn't suppress an extremely amused grin. "Dear God." He even gave a thumbs up to the guy.

He turned, and stretched. He wore red swim trunks and nothing else. His thick, shoulder length black hair clung to his neck and his toned, (even a bit muscled) physique displayed for all to see. He grunted, and then stretched, one foot out and the other leg bent as his sifu taught him. Up, down, up, down, and switch to the other side. He wondered where his buddy Brian was. The young man then popped up from his stretches, and looked around at the people here.

He gave a wave and a wink to the girl wearing the sarong, before focusing his dark eyes on the pool and literally front flipping into the water. Luckily, the enormous splash was made on the opposite end of the pool from Naomi. He had hit the water with such force and grace that the young man literally whipped across the bottom of the pool and resurfaced upon the otherside, right by Naomi's legs. He parted his dark hair away from his vision, and greeted her. "Hey there." he said casually, slipping his muscled arms up on the rocky edge as his feet dangled beneath him. He had a clear view of Jess too and waved at her once more. "You guys liking it out here? The choice of music is something else, I'll give it that."

Kain's story

Although Kain had fought his incapacitating injuries and given himself movement, he couldn't defy the pain. Especially since some of those limbs weren't ready to move and that motion only opposed his recovery. Sarah could see it. Hard to notice in his near mummified state but she knew. That left Kain wondering, Why..?

.... His thought was sharply broken as he noticed Sarah reach for the cassette player. Panic! Kain swung his straight stiff arm at hers as he groaned loudly. The sudden unexpected touch startled her more then anything.

"Sorry I won't touch it!" She quickly exclaims, looking around a little bit confused. She didn't push the matter just simply looked upon his arm with sympathy and concern.
Behind the glasses Kain's eyes were welded shut in pain, tears streaked freely from them and hidden memories seized his vulnerability and played in his fragile mind.

He cried in silent pain, he cried in sorrowful memories and for chances nearly lost. He cried for the families crying and the people who couldn't cry. He cried for every reason he stopped himself crying over the past few years.

He cried for his sister.

Sarah removed her phone from her pocket and put it on the consol between them. While only faint, soft music filled the silence between them as they drove under the starry night sky. Deftones; Change (in the house of flies)

A smile crept across his face. At least she had good taste in music.
They were nearly at their destination.

Within just a few moments of each other Wicked and Omega showed up at the pool party and Tia and Grant arrived a few minutes later. Wicked pulled Omega to the lounge chairs towards one end of the pool and Tia purposely took to the other end began talking to Grant and some of the others. Tia gave Wicked a look that said plenty of what she felt but she didn't want to make a scene. Wicked chose to ignore her and turned back to Omega and laughed at something he said.

Naomi rolled her eyes at the guy who was showing off. When he resurfaced near her she resisted the urge to kick him in the face. Instead she just nodded at his greeting and shrugged her shoulders. "It's my first pool party, so I have nothing to compare it to, but it seems nice." Naomi told the guy. "And certainly not my preferred choice of music, but then again I don't like much music."

Naomi noticed that four more people joined the party, one was Tia and the two guys she had met earlier that day. But the other woman was a new face. Questions for another day, Naomi thought to herself.

INERTIA A.K.A. Tia Clark

Tia left and went to check the fax machines and she left Grant by the pool. Finding only estimated damages for the last battle she skipped to the last page and it was the military recalling Grant back. Her heart dropped but they needed him for a secret mission. "Just great." She mumbled to herself.

Something told her to go check on Kain. She had learned a long time ago to listen to her instincts. Tia crossed the driveway to the medical building and when she went inside there was some chaos already going on. The doctor came up and said, "Kain is gone! I don't know how but he is gone!" "What? how is that possible? The man could only barely move!" She left medical and went straight to the garage. Kain's car was missing. "What the hell is going on around here?"

She got back to the poolside and gave Grant the fax and sat down. "Guys! We have a problem. Kain has disappeared in his car. We need to find him." Tia turned to Grant and said "Be safe but hurry they are already waiting for you." She kissed him on the cheek and he left.

WILD GIRL

Jess eyes the source of her musical hell wondering if the system is made to hardened specifications able to resist a near strike EMP event but defers in the interest team bonding.

Her sarong wrap reveals her simple bikini bottoms showing an almost staged fashion. Then she steps behind the diving board checking her safety zones before exploding forward in three long springing steps to stop at the rear board an perform a double tuck back flip onto the tip of the diving board.

Jessica barely weighing 48 kilo uses every gram of weight and erg of energy imparted by rotation to shove the flexible platform almost to touch the water. Then shifting energy vectors and allowing the diving board to transfer it back into her body rides the kinetic wave into a controlled parabolic arc up to nine meters above the water in four front flips fully extended before knifing into the water's surface. (Translation : Show off!)

Jess surfaced proud that she had only used her magnetic control to stabilize the metal supports of the board everything else the result of countless hours of training in Aerial gymnastics. And it was while treading water she wondered if they had a good trampoline for her to practice on.

Oh how she loved any reason to slip free the Fetters of gravity be it by use of magnetic or kinetic energy so long as she could feel like she was flying

After hearing him ask the question she let his hand go and stopped walking and said "well my super hero name is kinda funny or to me it is at least. It's lil badass." She said with a little laugh. And my power well, I can create armor and limbs out of bone and muscle. And I can also creat blades and claws anywhere on my body" she said as a grey tail that looked like it belonged to a cat appeared behind her and started swaying and grey cat-like ears sprouted out of her head.

And with a *meow* she did a little pose with her hands half closed little cat claws came out of her second knuckles so it looked like she had cat paws. "I know they look real" she said feeling her ears which looked really convincing. "And not to freak you out or anything but... there actually bone and muscle." She admitted as she stopped playing with her new ears. @King Tai

Omega a.k.a Michael Watts

Omega found the pool party to be pretty decent, but he just couldn't get used to the song that was currently playing.

"I guess he's playing this song to cater your generation." Omega joked, knowing how old Wicked was. He watched as everyone enjoyed themselves before Tia came up with bad news. I knew this was too good to be true...

Omega looked at the rest of the team and thought about what to do before standing up.

"Inertia!" Omega called as he floated over and across the pool and landed in front of her with his arms crossed. He looked down on her seriously before a smirk appeared on his face. "Kain used his car to leave right? Means it won't be that hard to find him... He's not trying to really hide. I'll go. Let the team relax." He said as he gave her counsel. It was as if he was telling her that he'd do her job for her. He looked at everyone else with a smile. "Party on!" He yelled before walking away from the scene. He gave a wink to Wicked as he departed to his room to change.

After a minute, Michael ran outside in full gear and used his telekinesis to lift himself into the sky. Now where would a cripple superhero drive off to... That's if he's driving... He's headed to somewhere that he can't do much at. He left so it's something he wants to witness in person. Something to see or feel... possibly taste. Seeing that he probably drinks from a tube and is casted from head to toe, he probably wants to see something.... the site of the first explosion. Omega deduced as he flew. Omega found himself to be pretty decent at finding things through deduction rather than with tracking, even though the latter is a lot more efficient. He used this skill from his previous work as a mercenary.

"Now I just have to find his one of a kind car." Omega laughed at how easy this would be... And she wanted to send the whole team? Ha!

Tia looked at Omega like he was from Mars. "Well that solves the problem of who wants to go find him." She stretched out on her lounger and soaked up the music. She looked around and spotted Ro'kun, Naomi, Jess and James. "Are Miles and Izzy coming?" Tia grabbed a drink and laughed. "Wicked? Did you hear Omega when he called you old? I think if I were you that toy would be broken." She raised her beer in toast to it.

WICKED FLAME

Wicked smirked and nodded. She had heard it and she wasn't going to let him get away with it. She calmly went down the hall and into his room and took his things in a box and put them in the driveway outside and blasted them so they all went up in flames. "Dumbass shouldn't call me names." She went back to the party and grabbed a beer and high fived Tia.

Kain's story

It was no wonder she was a nurse, Sarah was just a natural healer. Not like a meta healer or anything but her mere presence and company was up-lifting. Kain wasn't sure if it was just her gentle nature, caring smile or infective positive manor but her presence certainly helped cure the anguish and distraught in his mind. As for his body... Well she had an ailment for that pain too.

The car had pulled up as close to the rubble and chaos from the earlier days carnage as the roads would allow. While emergency services had evacuated the area, it was still pure havoc. So much damaged cars building debris and rubble everywhere. Kain didn't even know what he was looking for.

As he slowly gathered some nearby metal and began forming it into a supportive exoskeleton, Sarah pulled out some cigaret papers and a small pouch of something leafy and green.
" Your in pain right. It's alright then, purely medicinal. As your nurse I insist! " she says while giving him a wide sweet smile and holding out a joint.

Instinctively Kain was ready to reject her offer and shut her down, since setting himself on the path of helping others he had been avoiding any and all drugs. Going so far to be an advocate against them. They had lead him to a life he wasn't proud of and he never wanted to go back there again.
But somehow with Sarah offering, Kain felt as though nothing could go wrong, and he was truly willing to take anything now to ease some of the pain from his injuries. He almost wished to still be hooked up to those damn machines back at base. Anything to take the edge off.

And so that's how they spent their night. Digging deeper into the depths of disaster, talking, laughing and getting extremely fucked up and high as they endlessly sorted through, cleaned and fixed up the chaos around them, hoping to stumble across a clue. It wasn't long till their purpose was forgotten and they were simply exploring, enjoying each other's company.

Resting in a half dilapidated building they soon fell asleep.
Knowing it so, Kain secured them in the hidden safety of a metal bubble.
