Safa was getting ready to go to school. It was their last week before the summer would start and after summer, or actually in the last week she would start packing and move to her new dorm room in New York. She was really excited but also scared, she for sure would miss her best friend.
She looked at one of the many pictures from her and Kate, her best friend, that was sticking behind her mirror. She took one picture and smiled, it was one from Kate hugging her all of a sudden. It was a nice picture. She placed it back and applied her last tiny bit of mascara. Once done, she looked at the pictures one more time, a few were cut in heart shape. Her brothers had teased her with it, she had always hid her actual growing feelings for her best friend.. It could totally ruin their friendship, and that she didn't want!
She was the class president and helped around with the school paper, but this week she would have to get that all done and give someone else her spot. She heard a familiar car and looked out of the window, she opened it and waved. ''Coming!'' she said to Kate and then grabbed her vest and bad and ran down stairs. She putted on her shoes in a hurry and her mom came from the kitchen with a apple and a little box that had some grapes. ''You are not going to survive New York if you keep day dreaming'' she said. ''I will survive New York because I know you will fill my phone with alarms for when to eat and if needed pack three boxes with food for me'' Safa said.
''I am a way to good mom'' her mother said and Safa gave her a kiss on the cheek. ''Bye mom!'' she said and ran out of the door, she jumped of the little stairs outside her front door and waved happy. ''Hey girl~!'' Safa said and got in the car next to Kate. ''Last week huh? How will we ever survive it?!'' she said and gave her best friend a hug.
