‘May You Never Yield, May You Never Fail.’

Its a name that has always been associated with bravery, heroics, and serving for the greater good. Men and women, from those possessing the mightiest of powers, to even the most humble and skilled. All have come and gone over the many years, seeking the kind of glory that only comes with joining such an elite team.

That team? The Avengers.

~ First page of the Avengers Academy pamphlet

Created as a response to the growing panic over countless threats like Hydra, mutants and by association The Brotherhood, and many others. Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, or SHIELD for short. Created what was then called The Avengers Initiative. Led by the recently unfrozen World War II hero Captain America, the team has been a symbol of hope in all the madness in the world. Providing not just defense for serious dangers against the world, but aid to those in need as well.

Many have come and gone from the ranks of The Avengers, either voluntarily or from unfortunate circumstances. The two biggest constants of the team though have been Steve Rogers and Tony Stark, respectably Captain America and Iron Man. However even with his peek physical skills Steve finally decided to slow down. Shocking the world when he announced he was stepping down effective immediately as leader of The Avengers. What shocked everyone even more was what Steve Rogers had decided to do with his newfound free time.

Even as a man from the past, Steve always wanted to look ahead. The next new recruits that would lead The Avengers into the next century and beyond. To that end he brought up an idea to Nick Fury that would eventually lead to the creation of Avengers Academy. A private academy that would bring in great young heroes to be. Teach them everything important, and train them in handling their powers and combat scenarios.

The Academy would be a prime target for enemies though. So Nick Fury had it be commissioned to be on the top of a specially made helicarrier. Which ensured a perfectly safe environment that keeps outside distractions to a minimum. The academy however features many amenities for staff and students alike. Not only a state of the art training area that doubles as an athletic arena for basketball, football, soccer, baseball, and even ice hockey. A pair of Olympic sized swimming pools. Plus there is a student lounge filled with video games, pool and air hockey tables, and some of the most comfy couches you will ever rest your rear end on.

While some of the teachers and faculty staff consist of either paid normal teachers or medical personal. A majority of the staff either hails from SHIELD or are former Avengers in their own right. Hank Pym, formerly the original Ant-Man, runs the science labs and program at Avengers Academy as an example.

This year promises to be Avengers Academy’s most interesting year yet, as students are arriving in from around the world to either continue studies or are new. None are aware yet of the crazy year ahead.

Rules/world guidelines:

- The school is high school/college aged stuff, 14 year olds going up to 21 year olds.

- There is a dress code for classes and training but its fairly loose. Going on shirts, polos, button ups, even hoodies, each with the Avengers Academy logo on it and a flag on the left sleeve representing the student’s country of origin. Outside of classes students can wear whatever they want barring anything considered offensive. When it comes to costumes students can bring in their own (typically not as high quality as it can be) or a small team of seamstresses can measure you out for one after your first year of classes.

- The two dorms on campus are divided by gender, with two to a room. Usually paired randomly though if the students agree to it, are allowed to switch rooms to stay with friends.

- Since the basis for this was inspired by the ios Avengers Academy game I am going to allow for the usage of canon characters. Though I'm only keeping it to Young Avenger members, after that its more aiming for OCs. When it comes to canon characters changing backstory is fine and other small details. But keep what makes them who they are intact. For OCs please don't just rip off another Marvel or DC hero. I will accept legacy characters (son/daughter of two Marvel heroes) but they will be judged harder, canon hero profile sheets too, compared to OC sheets.

On the character sheet are two separate sections, the first is a basic set up, the second is a sheet that Avengers Academy supervisors and teachers have filled out on your character. Initial observation report being the first impressions the staff had on your character. Training regimen/expertise is what kind of specific classes the student has been put into, and if any a natural skill they have that will be utilized in field. Potential outlook is the general feeling among the staff about the student’s future as an Avenger. Finally base case scenario and worst case scenario aren’t basically becomes an Avenger or doesn’t, but looks at how they would function as an Avenger given their strength and flaws. What their role on a team would be essentially.

Also I'd like to point out that, again, I PM'd you for opinions on what powers I should go for. I'd like your feedback.

Doesn't matter that much, but I more or less was going on another RP as a sort of inspiration and that was what @Lord Wraith's had for that RP's character sheets.

roleplayerguild.com/topics/92696-the-u..

It won't hurt my feelings if you'd rather comic based images. Especially if you plan on using an established Young Avenger or legacy character.

@DrewVonAwesomeWell more that I tend to draw my own characters most of the time since it's hard to find something that really fits what I have in mind. ^^; That and I'm not really a fan of using photos for a few reasons really.

...Also the fact that it'd be kind of difficult to find a photo of the thing I had in mind anyways since people tend to only have two arms. XD

@knighthawkYeah, um, I'm actually very uncomfortable with using photos for character appearance unless it's for... Like, a crossover or something where I'm playing someone from something live action. ^^;

Full name:
Mortimer Tolansky
Alias/Codename:
Toad
Age:
18
Country of origin:
U.S.A. New York (NY)
Basic appearance:
7'6", 4'6" from heel to hip and 3' from hip to head wearing size 20 shoes. [Not the world record so shouldn't bring too much attention to himself on a global scale.] 8'6" on tip-toes. 334 Lbs in a lean swimmers build Used to have long hair but cut it after signing up.
Skills:

Powers:
*Secretes psychoactive poison from his pores that causes psychedelic reactions. The secretion has the consistency of tacky resin similar to gymnast chalk which he can use this to cling to solid objects.
*His legs muscle were twice as dense as everyone else's as are his bones from the pelvis down resulting in strength three times a normal person or equal to one professional athlete, all without working out. In the last year "___" has put him on a killer workout session to make up for lost time so now his leg strength is equal to ten men. He can leap ten feet horizontally without assistance, land from a fall of one hundred feet before injury and leg lift 4000 lbs.
*Superhuman flexibility and spine capable if contortionist movements.
*His lungs can expand and compress large quantities of air that can be expelled with enough force to knock a fully grown human off their feet or hold enough air for him to stay underwater for a half hour.
*Superhuman taste, perhaps more of a negative trait than he would hope for, but it means he could easily track someone by licking where they might have touched. Mostly he uses it to taste test 'product' to make sure it isn't tampered with.
Costume:

His costume consists of two parts: Part one is a full body ribbed scuba suit mean to wick away any and all secretions from his pores to a storage container on the small of his back that feeds to a pair of pumps on the palms of his gloves so that he can summon up handfuls of his psychoactive resin. On top of this he wears a bulletproof outfit of various camouflaged patterns depending on the deployed environment with reflective eyepieces to prevent optical hypnosis.
Brief bio:

(For official use only)
Initial observation report:
Great potential, lacks motivation
Training regimen/expertise:
Excessive physical training and social skills development
Potential outlook:
Highly potential if mental and emotional hangups can be overcome.
Best case scenario:
Aquatic Strike force or espionage operative.
Worst case scenario:
Terrorist infiltration unit for next group of brotherhood of evil mutants wannabes

Yeah let me add that in, forgot...

Edit: Done, under costumes.

Also, the Students/Living quarters is just a list of accepted characters, done up as who is staying with who. M being male students and W being female students naturally.

Full name: William Maximoff-Shade (Unrelated to canon son of Scarlet witch)
Alias/Codename: Cybernetic
Age: 19
Country of origin: "Eastern Europe" Sokovia
Basic appearance: 5'6 of varying mass. His overall appearance doesn't change, keeping his lean build and boyish looks. Keeps his hair short.
Costume: Having control over technology and nanites, a metallic suit is the only way to go. Composed of the nanites that make up his blood stream, the suit is a living part of himself and serves mostly to conceal his identity, provide his flight capabilities and act as a suitable material for him to create his weaponry using his Technopathy. And to some extent, it's a small statement of his idolisation to Stark.
Skills:

Powers:

Brief bio:

(For official use only)
Initial observation report:
Subject shows lack of magical ability, but is adept at technopathy, continually hacks into own files to change recorded data. I think I 'improve' on it, you guys don't record down enough of my awesomeness
Training regimen/expertise:
-Obedience protocol training (A.k.a Detention, you guys need to stop using such fancy terms
-Lab work I get to blow up stuff?
-Robotics class It's the age of the machines!
-Partying 101
-Finding Nick's other eye 102
-Curing Baldness
-Seeing if you can survive jumping off the hellicarrier

Potential outlook:
High potential if- Got that right
Best case scenario:
Technical infiltration unit or taking control of the hellicarrier"
Worst case scenario:
Shut down protocol if any signs of threat to organisation They catch me before I take control of the hellicarrier

FunFacts:
-He likes to pretend he's a robot, but any memory of him being an Android has been erased from his memory and from his files
-The word 'Android' still sets him off
-He may or may not have a Tony stark poster in his room...and an Ironman action figure
-He can understand binary better than actual speaking sometimes.
-Monster trucks, don't mention them...ever.

Just leaving this here for the time being. Planning for the son of Wanda and Vision so just letting it be known first ^^

...don't remember doing that...

Anyway, @DrewVonAwesome, what's your stance on a generally "psychic" character. I know this sounds like a lot, but what I have planned currently is a half-alien character with peak human condition, genius intelligence, telepathy, psychokinesis, ionokinesis, and psionic constructs (the last three kinda blend together). I plan on playing up the "brilliant but lazy" archetype; he's a powerful kid with a lot of potential, but can't bring himself to be motivated about heroism, or give a damn about saving the world. He's only even at the academy because his human mother wanted him to attend.

Sounds like someone that Will would get along with. Just a wondering question, does telepathy apply to an android? Or frankly the other superhumans around in the school with some sort of non human aspect or non-organic thought maker....I am no good with words.

Maybe, maybe not. If its brain/thoughts are organic, then he probably can use telepathy on it. A machine doesn't have a psychic presence, because its "brain" is a computer.

Hmmm... Initial idea isn't really working out, and it looks like my backup wouldn't be a good idea... Part of me is tempted to just go "fuck it" and make a full-on kawaii desu uguu magical girl despite how much of a pariah that would make me. XD But hmmm, let's see if I can't get something else to work first.
