Yeah, that's something I don't remember. He originally wanted to be dwarves, as you noted, but has NOT said what he wants to be now.

Dunno.
He was a lizard race of park rangers at first and then turned dwarven kingdom but I don't know what exactly he wants with the forests now.
I think some British parallels were mentioned but aside from that, dunno.

Anyways, this came up in the chat and I would like to mention it here as well.

My idea is that we don't know who or when invented the gunpowder (perhaps there are multiple types and recipes) but the nation which mostly promoted its use was the Golden Horde's orcs. Both through allowing to materials and knowledge spread through their equivalent of the Silk Road and also through seeing orcs fighting with guns.

Does this lore snippet sounds acceptable to you?

It's got a lot of Anglo Saxon influences, with stoic heroism and great appreciation for warfare, honor, and forest beasts. My people drove out the Centaur-like nation to the south and made their glades the places where our clans meet to decide future clan leaders.

Zhodul is more interested in trade, but will fight if the kingdom is threatened.

Guns in the 15th century are not really particularly super effective though, they were out-ranged by the Longbow and outperformed in speed by the Crossbow, they have their uses sure but surely there shouldn't be en masse napoleonic style musket armies.
