Dante Sphinx - 17 - M
Occupation: Dante seems like a total slacker without an honest job, but his money is coming from somewhere. He takes on his own dodgey jobs if it means a fat paycheck... though not all his clientele are human, and not all of them are happy working with Dante.
Personality: Dante has a major attitude problem. He's sarcastic, a complete jerk, a bully and a borderline narcissist. His arrogance knows no bounds, but he's not necessarily outright rude unless provoked - he loves purring out backhanded compliments and pushing the limits of social expectations, often giving his victims the unnerving sensation that there is something cruel hidden behind his sickly sweet interactions with them.
There's something about Dante that just screams 'I hate happiness'. If he sees a couple having a good time, or doing as they are told, or living calm and uneventful lives, it's almost enough to make him vomit. Perhaps that's what drew him to this girl in his class in the first place - her tendency to behave well, do good, achieve... well, Dante simply has to ruin it, or give a good shot at corrupting her.
Dante is greedy, inappropriately flirtatious, sometimes slothful and can go from zero to douche in record-breaking time. He is relatively motivated by money and power, so long as it doesn’t burst conflict with his personal self-identity bubble.
Still, every so often there seems to be a glint of humanity among the madness. It's hard to imagine what sort of life carved a person like Dante. But it seems his grumpy old withered heart is capable of some kind of compassion - while he'd never show it in public, Dante has a huge soft spot for his dog Daemon. That dog is the only thing Dante has shown any warmth to.
But don't catch him doing it. He'll make you regret it.
