It's not my decision. Just an idea. Shoot me an email if it's something you'd like to do and just let me know who all wants in. We should communicate about it via email rather than here.
Hey Guys,

This is Shon. I haven't popped in or been watching much, but I wanted to see how things were going so I went and give an idea of what I'm doing now. First, FireCracker, doesn't leaving yourself add to the problem? If you want Apocalyptica to get back into its bulky self you need to contribute and help build it up, not use its suffering as a reason to leave. That just puts another nail in the coffin.

Anyway, shortly after I left I received a couple projects. I am doing some work as a Concept Artist for a science fiction web series that, due to a confidentiality agreement, I cannot name. When it posts the first episodes I'll give you a heads up though. Meanwhile, you all probably know I work part-time for a college. I recently got a second part-time job as a Public Relations Consultant and Gallery Manager in one of the first and largest marijuana retailers set to open in Vancouver, Washington. I'm among the upper management, sitting with the owners and investors who I should note have more wealth than I've ever seen in my life, and we're really doing something interesting. I have been setting up and participating in interviews with local press, NPR, and the Wall Street Journal. I've also connected to thirteen skilled artists in my area who are showing for our opening, or will soon after. Anyway, I've been working these crazy hours as we prepare the store and launch ourselves into the limelight. It's busy, it's new, but it's crazy fun. The company is called New Vansterdam, you're welcome to check it out on Facebook (our website is under construction). I've always wanted to run a gallery and this opportunity came as a surprise for me. I'll be sure to post links to photos of the opening if y'all are interested.

Apocalyptica Related: I see the activity hasn't change much. Well, if this isn't meant for RPG I would ask that those of y'all still interested compile what we have and contact me. Prometheus had an idea last year to shift this into a linear story and I think he had a good point. In my work I've met a few successful fine artists and comic book artists (my jealousy is with them), and would love to tempt them with a polished story like this. Between a few of us we could turn this back and forth RP into an understandable prose, co-authored prose. From there, the possibilities are really interesting. Just let me know!

I'll try to pop on in a few weeks. Be well all of you and don't forget, you're welcome to email me!

What I mean is, doing 'everything we can' would mean there should be a minimum of four entries right now, which is plenty to have a vote.

Your point is solid in terms of investment, mdk. The only catch is that if the contest kept up numbers solely from manager-submissions you wouldn't really be fixing a whole lot. There are two contests. So, even if one manager wrote a short fiction and two others did a flash, the best result would be two pairs competing directly (I'm counting that single submission received). Again, that's the ideal. With such a close knit managing crew you'd also prevent them from voting since writing style would probably be as clear as signing your name. Your idea might work if there was some visual marker for how many people had submitted, hopefully inspiring others to join the bandwagon, but even with managers providing updates as they do now there clearly isn't much of a positive result. The WOTM struggling is not the fault of the managers. We have a New Guild, new structure, and even our returning population has changed in how it views the community. Even the best manager would need time to adapt and I'd say that is probably next step for the WOTM -- adaptation. Personally, I'd prefer them to do the responsible thing and focus their attentions on ways to revitalize and restructure this idea without overcomplicating it. Doing that's a lot harder with the stress of keeping something sinking afloat. So, I guess I'm saying let's cut them some slack. Let's do our part by talking with our RP communities about this too in order to rally some interest.
Hey guys, thank you for having me, but I'm afraid I'll be pulling out. I adore this roleplay for its creative twist on Elder Scrolls and was loving where we were, so thank you for the fun! Please feel free to do with Shamoun as you please. I know I wasn't able to flesh him out too much so early into things, but if you see an opportunity do not hesitate. Again, thank you!
Added a little to the doc, Zombie.

@Ink: Nice post, did you work something out with Fallen or someone to meet up with? Sounds like y'all will be playing a good ol' game of catch up :P.

The Forum has been going through a few issues, however, Mahz seems to have resolved them. Hopefully that's the end of the screwiness.
To start, I consider gaming a guilty pleasure. What I personally enjoy in it all is the potential we as people have for creation. I make images and write stories because I love the idea of building a world that everyone can throw their part into. I would very much like to enter the gaming industry simply to be a part of that process. That definitely affects how I experience E3.

This year I feel this awkward balance. I've only watched the XBox presentation from yesterday morning and an assortment of trailers since. In terms of games, I am very happy to see each company exploring new, large ideas. Some of the developers seem extremely apologetic and careful, I take it due to the controversy with Xbox One, but the artists and creators all seemed sincerely jazzed up. I really prefer that energy over that of the business-minded reps who just introduce a product without love, like peddling some drug to an addict. I will admit I was a bit annoyed by those aforementioned developers, but really, the trailers for Zelda and Assassin's Creed seriously overshadowed whatever annoyance I felt at the time.

I am re-opening Artist's Loft. Shortly after creating this thread I was approached with a few paying commissions from a very unexpected source. Anyway, I've set up a more manageable system for accepting paid commissions and am ready to give this some love!

Oh yeah! I also updated the OP with new information about paid commissions. I'll be offering both and adding cool benefits to those down for paying for the work -- an offer I extend y'all as Guild-mates.
I know we've gathered this is more than a personal issue already, but I just wanted to chime in with how extremely annoying this is. I constantly skip over checking a forum because of the 'lack of updates' and it puts way more burden on the Subscriptions than they're meant for. Most importantly, an issue like this is probably a kick in the gut for Interest Checks as they've yet to gather subscriptions and aren't getting those brief moments of limelight on the front page.

Anyway, just my two cents... in terms of issues, this one is surprisingly high for me.

So I should just introduce my character in Chico, maybe he can have a shop, and then one you can come by to get a gun looked at or fixed and then end up employing him because of his gunsmithing abilities?

Read over the last few IC posts based in Chico and see if there's an opportunity to make your fit. A few things have happened that you could easily rope yourself into without the need for a haphazard store visit. Check'em out and see what comes to mind.
