She pushed the silly thought away and her eyes met with Blake's. The young woman immediately became flustered as she stammered, "S-shouldn't we start getting to our cars?"

Adelfa immediately noticed his hand gone from her shoulder, but didn't say anything. Maybe his arm just got tired. Either way, the moment Adelfa heard about the bridge lifting up, her blood turned to ice. "You think they'd really lift the bridge like that?"

"A surprise?" Adelfa repeated quietly. Of course she didn't know much about the race, let alone that they were going to have some sort of surprise. "My brother? No... I mean yes! He's going to be here, but not racing, not this time."

"Yes, we always have," Akita agreed, taking a seat. Although she spoke confidently, she couldn't be too sure what was going to happen to them and whether or not they could take it down.
