Adelfa's mother smiled, though it was hard to pick out one emotion. She seemed touched, saddened, and somehow happy as well. "No, we'll pay for her medical bills. I doubt she'll be driving for a while," she said, laying her hand over her daughter's, "but if you know someone who can fix cars we'd appreciate it."

"What?! Pay someone to fix that car?" Adelfa's father interjected, "It'll cost more to fix it than to replace it altogether! Might as well scrap it and get a new one."

"Get her a new one? No, she's getting herself a new car if that's the case! Why not have Simon fix it if price is a problem?"

"Oh no, I'm not letting that idiot come near her car! Over my dead body!"

"I don't think Simon know how to fix cars," Calix agreed with his father.

"Okay, fine, what do you guys say then?" his mother asked in a confrontational tone. Calix hated when she was like this. There was nearly no way to win. He decided to keep his mouth closed. He glanced over to his father who seemed to have came up with a similar plan.
"Huh, I wish it were easy like that in real life," Akita sighed, setting down her pistols.
@Sola Awesome! Glad to have you back too! You can go ahead and move her to the Character Tab! :3

@Everyone This looks great! I'll have the first post up some time tomorrow!

**Edit: I added some rules, they're pretty basic, but good to look at. #5 is extremely important to me. I will add a description of different fighting styles in the first OOC post so everyone can have a good idea of what characters should and should not be able to do. This will allow them to team up differently and tackle different situations with better strategies. So, for a quick example, if a criminal is known to tackle and attack people on the ground, the group should not send a boxer after the criminal as on the ground they are heavily disadvantaged. They should send someone with groundwork like a Judo, BJJ, or wrestling practitioner who can work they way around chokes, throws, and submissions. But that'll all come later in the role-playing. XD
Akita followed along with Blake, killing some of the aliens around the command post. They had to take it down! She continued to help clear and mow down the aliens.
"Right, I get it," Adelfa's mom said, though she wasn't too keen on his blame of Adelfa, even if it was mainly her fault. "I just..." she muttered, eyes tearing up some as she looked at her hurt daughter, "I can't lose her. And it scares me more than anything. I can't lose either of them."

As soon as the first tear fell, her husband was carressing her. He quickly wiped her tears away and pinched her nose, something that seemed to be an action only understood by those two. Calix was happy to see them still close after all of these years, but he couldn't help but feel like he brought on their sorrow.

"At least insurance covers some of this, right?" Calix said in a rather weak attempt to make things better. "And maybe can get someone to fix up the car? I'll help pay for it!"
At Blake's command, Anita ran forward through the aliens, aiming her pistols for the ones Blake missed. She ran towards the second line of cover and hid behind debris.
"No, it's both of your faults," their mother conceded, "Even Adelfa's. What you did was illegal and dangerous."

"Right!" Calix's father agreed, stamping his foot slightly. "We really could call the police and get this whole thing shut down!" And his threat was genuine, though he wasn't sure the police could actually stop the races.

"What was your name again? Blake, right?" the mother asked, looking over the young man. Calix nodded in the background. "Blake," she repeated, "I'm not dumb. I know you and my daughter might not have been exactly dating, but I think you two should spend some time apart."

Their father nodded, some of his anger dissipating. "I don't want my daughter dating anyone who will put her in this kind of danger without even thinking about it!"
The aliens became distracted enough for Akita to run to Blake. She made it, almost getting caught by a few blasts. "We need to push forward!" she shouted over the noise.
Akita unloaded her pistols as Blake ran, giving him cover to run. She had to remain under cover where she was as she reloaded her pistols. Given the chance, she would run across to meet him.
"So both of you could've stopped it, huh?" their father asked, voice filled with rage. His fists were clenched tightly and it looked as if he were about to spring.

Quickly, his wife placed a hand on his shoulder and pulled him to her side. She placed her hands over his. One might see this as an act of affection, an act of graceful control, yet her knuckles grew white with the force she held her husband's hands in.

Calix looked as his two parents in fear. They both were angry, yet only one seemed able to control it. Actually, he wasn't sure if they would contain their anger. "I'm sorry! This was just something she really wanted to do and I couldn't stop her even if I tried!"

"I'm sorry doesn't fix anything, Calix," his mother said harshly, not looking at either of the two.
