Current That uni feeling when homework doesn't feel like homework anymore because you actually *like* what you're studying =D

Bio

Heyo!

Errm... there's not really much to say about me tbh, I'm preeeety boring.

I'm an 18 year old student from the UK (ergo, timezone is gmt) who can mostly be found crying about uni hanging around the casual section and terrorising the kind folks over there with my... let's say rusty writing skills. As it turns out, writing nothing but scientific essays for a year takes a toll on your creativity -_- who would've guessed?

(Not me. Hence my current predicament)

Anyway, guess that's all for now, see ya!

There’s always been something a little… strange about the small welsh seaside town of Rawyn. Whether it be the way spectral looking travellers sometimes disappear as seamlessly as they appeared, the strange sounds coming from the walls of the community centre, or the fact that no one dares go near the lighthouse at the end of the beach, it’s undeniable that something is not quite right. For the most part, the locals have learned to ignore it, perhaps even playing into it to attract tourists - after all, the only thing better than a castle is a haunted castle - but the strange occurrences around town and the townsfolk’s flirtations with the supernatural have never been dangerous. They’ve never hurt anyone.

That is, until today.

When a young girl goes missing on her way home from school, people are up in arms. The official line is that she ran away of her own volition, but anyone who knows anything knows that that’s not the case at all.

You, dear reader, know that that’s not the case at all.

Maybe you’re a member of the local witch’s coven, or perhaps one of the many ‘ghost busters’ who’ve set up shop in town to take advantage of Rawyn’s many goings-on, or maybe you’re just an average joe who wouldn’t be able to see a ghost if one came and yelled ‘boo!’ in your ear. Whoever you are, whatever your motivation, you want to find out more.

And, perhaps, you will.

Overview

Hello there! So, I've had this idea kicking around for a while now, or at least, the setting. Essentially, if you hadn't already gathered, this rp takes place in the present day, in the town of Rawyn, a completely made-up place in North Wales, where magic and ghosts are real, at least, to a certain extent. Your characters will essentially be exploring the secrets of both the town and the supernatural forces at play, and, hopefully, solving the central mystery.

Tonally, this rp will probably get pretty dark, although more in the 'Neil Gaiman, weird shit going on' kind of way as opposed to the 'George RR Martin, killing and torturing people' kind of way, and will be based off a mixture of primarily mystery and exploration, but with a little action and slice of life peppered in for good measure. I'm aiming to get a medium-large group, although this could work with a smaller group as well, we'll just have to see what we get =)

@Metronome Tentatively interested in this if you're still up for it - although I'm a little concerned about tone. This seems like it has the potential to get very dark, but it could also go in the complete opposite direction and be more light hearted slice of life kinda thing, and I was wondering which way you would want it to skew?
@Belle Haha, fair enough :P A good song's a good song regardless of the source material :)
@Legion02 agreed! I love me a morally complex villain,it seems like she's bound to make things interesting :D I really like how she's not just motivated by plain greed like a lot of antagonists in environment-themed works. Although she really does need a good talking to though, although tbf she's no worse than most politicians as far as the environment's concerned -_-

So now that I have cried my eyes out to "This is Me" from The Greatest Showman (seriously if you haven't heard it LOOK IT UP NOW trust me you will NOT regret it! this song has helped me climb out from the deepest pits of depression and even though I fall back in from time to time this song gives me power to fight again!)

I've heard very mixed things about that film, either it's the best thing people have seen or the worst. I think I might watch it though - I adored Dear Evan Hanson, (it did make me ugly cry for two hours straight lol) and it's by the same guy, so I guess I'll probably like it
Interested =)

Interacting With:@RisenSun

It was the sun that woke Sam up, the pink sunrise rushing in with the sound of the ocean swell through the open window above his desk. Blearily, he sat up and stretched, back and neck cracking audibly as he slowly peeled his eyes open, the clear emerald ocean just visible from his position slumped over in his chair. Dimly, he realised that he must have fallen asleep reading last night. The offending party - a printed copy of a particularly interesting article about field measurements of cetaceans published in Marine Mammal Science, stared up at him from the cluttered desk. Still not quite awake, he tucked it away back in his ‘to read’ pile, before locating his phone from where it was tucked underneath a stack of hastily scrawled notes and checking the time.

His blood ran cold.

He was going to be late.

Or at least, too late to make a proper fry up for breakfast. Cereal it was. He extricated himself from his chair, before grabbing a change of clothes and a towel and heading toward the shower block to wash away the night.

Fifteen minutes later, and Sam was just about ready for the day as he made the short journey to the mess hall, taking in a lungful sea air. He opened the door, to find several people already there. He filled the kettle and set it to boil, before getting himself a bowl of Shreddies, combing a hand through his still-damp hair as he did so. From the looks of things, the request list was up, and Naomi was standing in front of it, looking pensive whilst Beau was nearby. It was nice having an intern around, and with her passion, Sam was sure she’d do well when (or with this place, it was probably a question of if) she left the island and pursued a career.

At that moment, the kettle clicked, steam pouring from the spout and a rumbling sound indicating the water was boiled. Sam poured himself a cup of tea, adding milk and two sugars, before fishing out the teabag and putting it in the bin. He yawned, before picking up his shreddies, and heading over toward where Beau was.

“Mornin’” he said, conscious of the way his grogginess exaggerated his fading welsh accent, “What’re you two up to today? Not letting Naomi boss you round too much are you Beau?” he grinned jokingly, and sat down at a table, tucking into his breakfast, eager to get started with the day as quickly as possible.

Woo! Will start working on my post tomorrow :)
