In any event I'm finding more and more that I don't have as much free time as I'd thought. Regrettably I'll be withdrawing my application.
Alright, fair enough. To me that seems a bit contradictory with the explanations given in Fate Complete Material for what Magic Foundations and Formula are, but maybe that's just my limited interpretation of it. It seems to me that if you're to engrave a Magical Foundation in a land's academia and religion, it presumes and requires knowledge of it.

I had thought that magic became weaker with more magi that because in a literal sense the magic was spread thinner, like a pie being cut into smaller and smaller pieces; rather than there being an inherent loss of value just for witnessing it.

Good to know this is how it is. I'll get back on making my master character.
GuyYouWishYouDidntKnow said See, magecraft is all about mystery. The more people who know about it, whether they're normal people, other magi, or even you, the weaker magecraft gets. Most magi actually don't really use magecraft save for a couple times in their whole life, because just using it in front of yourself weakens it to an extent. That's why magi keep all their stuff super secret, they're not evil monopolizers like the True Magicians who could give their snowflake powers to everyone and help humanity. They keep it secret because magecraft will literally cease to exist otherwise. And even then, magecraft sucks a lot in the modern day, cause anything done with magecraft can be done with science by now, and in most respects science has made magecraft obsolete. Magecraft's just getting weaker and weaker, making it totally public would be the complete death of magecraft, so the idea "make everyone know about magecraft so we can help people with it" fails when doing that means there's no magecraft anymore.

Would you mind sharing the source on this? It's just a bit different from the understanding I had, so it'd be cool to hear the WoG.
I'll be putting a master together for this (hopefully) sometime soon.
Name:

Class: Caster
Gender: Male

Birth and Death Dates: February 21, 921 – October 31, 1005
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Personality: Caster is a fastidious in manner and subdued in bearing. The concept of rectitude holds a great deal of importance to him; the idea that there is a proper way for things to be, and that people should strive to achieve and maintain this state. He has a great love of riddles, puzzles, and other sorts of mental exercise; as well as the 'simpler' pleasures of the world, like well made food and pretty flowers. He has a great deal of wisdom on a broad range of subjects, but this is a two-edged sword in that it can be quite difficult to convince him that he's misjudged something when he's actually wrong about it.

Weapon: Caster uses magic, and not the swordmage type. No sharp or pointy things for him.
Parameters:
Strength: E
Endurance: E
Agility: C
Mana: A+
Luck: A
Class Skills:
Item Construction, Rank C
The skill to manufacture magical items. Caster specializes in the construction of Omamori (charms that confer a generally defensive effect on the bearer) and Ofuda (paper talismans that store a particular spell and a quantity of prana to power it).

Territory Creation, Rank A
The skill to build a special terrain that is advantageous to oneself as a magus. Creation of a "Temple", which is superior to a "Workshop", becomes possible.
Personal Skills:
Hōjutsu, Rank B
Hōjutsu is the other name given to the Thaumaturgical Theory of Onmyōdō, a variant of the Chinese school of Thaumaturgy that uses the concept of yin and yang as foundation. The predominant system of Magecraft in Japan, it is ideologically incompatible with the Western schools of Thaumaturgy. It is a system that excels at divination, curses and the like. Its most famous practitioner was Abe no Seimei. Caster's mastery can be considered well beyond the scope of modern magecraft.

Divinity, Rank A
Caster is the son of Kuzunoha, the Inari Okami of Shinoda.
Got my eye on Castah. Application in a while
Very much a work in progress

  • Name: Fafhrd Auðrfjall
  • Age: 157
  • Gender: Male
  • Race: Dwarf
  • Personality: WIP
  • Brief Backstory: WIP

  • Abilites:
He can smell wealth. He has an inherent understanding of value, and can identify and pinpoint expensive objects and substances within a league of himself. With regards to debts, promises, and agreements, his memory is infallible; even resisting magical tampering. If he drafts a document outlining an agreement between two or more parties, and all agreeing parties have signed the document, the agreement is magically binding.

  • Equipment, Items, and Other Belongings on Hand:
~ A fitted suit of plate mail
    ~ A mace
    ~ A scrivener's kit and signet ring

  • Miracles:
~ Precious metals and gemstones migrate through the ground like fish swimming through the sea before pooling on the surface like spring water, forming hills of gold and jewels. It's worth noting that this doesn't actually create wealth, it draws it out from its natural resting place in the earth.
~ Fafhrd can change peoples understanding of a thing's worth or value.

  • Domains: Wealth and Deals
I think I'm going to put together an application for a dwarven god of wealth and greed.
Very neat idea; gonna juggle some ideas around for a while until I can come up with a coherent character concept.
Should work now
