Biography and Family History:
Shiulang was born into a mage family in China that had been established for four generations. It was a respectable, clean cut and well to do family full of promising, studious and serious people all willing to sacrifice greatly to further the studies of their magecraft. Shiulang himself has never known exactly what his family researched nor does he actually know any member of his family. Shiulang's parents gave birth to twins, and, as Shiulang's brother possessed far more potential than he did, his parents resigned Shiulang to the rabble. This did not mean that Shiulang had no potential for magecraft, it was just that he was far inferior to his sibling. As such, Shiulang was sent away to a free lancer magus who was willing to adopt Shiulang as an apprentice of sorts.
The free lancer raised Shiulang since he was but three years old, and Shiulang never once was made known of the existence of his actual family. He considered the free lancer to be his father and only family and devoted himself to his foster father. The free lancer did not need a heir as he had already severed any ties with magic organizations as a free lancer, but he was not without the human urge to parent a child. As he himself could not father a child, he adopted one, and in doing so he also made sure that whatever child he adopted could acclimate to his lifestyle and follow his own foot steps. Shiulang's father never considered morality or goodness in adopting a child, and thus he taught Shiulang the ways of a free lancer by the time Shiulang could walk and talk.
Shiulang trained incessantly for over ten years, learning all that the free lancer could teach him. He imbibed and applied his learned Taiji and practiced the martial arts his father rigorously conditioned him with. Eventually Shiulang was brought into his father's own assignments and missions as a free lancer, and began to pick up combat experience in dealing with heretical mages. Shiulang's father died when he was seventeen, leaving; following this, Shiulang took over for his father as a free lancer and has been at the profession since then. He has disposed of countless heretical mages and has claimed exactly one true sealing designation, which is a testament to his significant abilities as a free lancer.

Magecraft:
- Basic General MageCraft, is above average in healing but below average in all other skills.
- Taiji: The Chinese philosophy of the Supreme Ultimate. Covers the ability of Breathing and Walking, a connection of the inner world to the outer world, though Shiulang is not at the level of being able to use this for nature interference. Physical capabilities such as bodily strength and reflexes utilized through martial arts though are amplified, with and without weapons. Shiulang's excellence in this area is such that he is able to dispatch regular human beings with one well placed blow to a core vital. Shiulang applies this to his mastery of Baji. Taiji is the only mage craft related ability that Shiulang possesses, and as such he has refined and honed it for most of his entire life with no other thing to improve himself with. Shiulang has also developed a basic form of vitrification obtained from meditation with Neo Confucianist ideals, physical and mental conditioning through Baji, and continued exercise of Taiji.
Mystic Codes and Equipment:
Fielded Qiang
Shiulang's mystic code, a specialized Qiang that is reinforced with magecraft. It is blessed with several different instances of protection. The spear is incredibly durable and has magical properties about it which allow it to interact with substances that a regular spear would not be able to. For example, the spear is capable of splitting a pillar of fire or cutting through spells. The spear is also blessed with protection against erosion and wear, and it thus appears to be in pristine condition always. The spear is also practically weightless through magical enhancement, but can still generate kinetic energies as if it were fully weighted.
Kevlar Clothing/Robing
Shiulang's robes, mantle and clothing in general are inlaid with kevlar polymer fiber, and as such are exceptionally durable against piercing or pulling tension. The kevlar is packed in many durable layers around the torso and waist area, but the thin white sleeve areas are much weaker and can be shredded with good force. It is also blessed with spells that make it comfortable, near weightless and flexible to allow for maximum movement.
Non-Magecraft Related Skills:
Bajiquan: Shiulang has practiced Bajiquan for over twenty years with an ardent zeal few could match. Thankfully for him, he possessed an exceptional aptitude for picking up the minutiae of physical form and movements through both a natural talent reserve and a ready mentality. Consequently, this long time training has developed Shiulang's Bajiquan to extraordinary levels of mastery that few practitioners can match today. Combined with his Taiji, Shiulang's baji ascends the limits of human form and strength to become a supernatural force in essence, practically the entirety of Shiulang's strengths. Shiulang has also morphed his baji to become more efficient in killing humans, straying from the core teaching of Chinese martial arts as a form of defense, but keeping true to the intrinsic belief of Chinese martial arts as a form of ultimate expression. Shiulang has also trained in armed Baji, opting to wield with exceptional skill a qiang in combat.
Perception: By achieving a calm and steady mental state, Shiulang is able to perceive the world around him at a much greater level than can the regular distracted mind. He is able to notice minute differences and details with ease and discern emotions, feelings and intents by analyzing facial features and subtle bodily hints. This functions almost like a heightened instinct in combat, but requires much more mental dedication to maintain and is prone to causing tunnel vision by focusing overly on one aspect of combat.
Combat Experience: As a freelancer, Shiulang has obtained a considerable degree of combat experience against mages. He has developed a sharp eye in discerning the limits and capabilities of mages with sharp observation and heightened senses granted through Taiji. He is able to perceive when a mage has prepared something significant or is about to unleash a significant spell through instinctively sensing danger and killing intent. Shiulang's combat experience is essentially his perception and trained mental state molded by continuous exposure to magecraft of all different kinds. Shiulang also has no inhibitions about killing a human being or torturing one if it is practical and necessary.
Technology: Shiulang is incredibly knowledgeable about modern weaponry and technology. Though he does not utilize firearms, he is able to discern what type of firearm is fired simply by observing the weapon and hearing the shot fired. He is also able to identify the caliber of the bullet and prepare accordingly. These abilities were developed from Shiulang's innate perception, senses and reflexes enhanced by Taiji and refined through the necessity of survival. Shiulang's knowledge is not limited to firearms, and he is also well versed in explosives, vehicles, computers, etc.
