Buddha isn't the only one who has hoes. I have lots and lots of hoes too. Why? Because I really like to garden.

@Buddha Laughing My Ass Off XD I just read the same thing and cringed so hard. @PersonWho'sNameWillNotBeMentioned please... Rethink that post a little bit, and try a bit of mental therapy.

@Wolf Paws I can relate. When I was hardcore working on a Pokemon RP I didn't sleep for 2-3 nights in a row. I figured it was time to sleep when I started hearing voices...

Ok, now that that's settled. What are all of your thoughts on the other shops I've made? Just an FYI that the Stone Emporium isn't done yet, and I'm thinking about changing the name to Steven's Stone Emporium, for obvious reasons.

Also, do any of you have any ideas for shops that you would like to see me make?
Ok, so is it agreed upon to remove EV training, and the Bulk-Up shop from the RP?
@Savo

I just left the EV/IV tab alone, like you said it brings an unfair advantage - not being beaten by being outsmarted but by hidden numbers is down right not fair. :(

Like if I'm battling someone who agrees that they are not going to do showdown, I'm not going to one hit KO them with a Bullet Punch because I have maxed out EVs. When it comes to creative writing EVs are dead, and it's based on skill, creativity, and strategy, not just Pure Power, unless, y'know your Pokémon has the Pure Power ability *wink* I get why everyone is freaking out about EVs in non-showdown situations, an I assure you, they will have no effect in that category of the RP.
Hey, does anyone know how to get on the desktop version of the site from mobile?
I have two words...

Hell yes... And five more words...

Nice to see you again.
Ok, so I kinda delayed on stating my opinion on the iv and ev stuff, but the more I look at it, the more like a game this is chalking up to be versus being a roleplay with a story and narrative.

First off, I have to say that we should leave the ev and iv stuff to showdown; just... give whatever ivs and evs your pokemon in that retrospect. As much as I like showdown, I would say it should function as a last resort for disagreements if you can't come to the conclusion over who should win the battle. The reason for this is it just comes down to you hit your opponent and they just hit back. No dodging, no neat strategies, nothing except back and forth hitting.

If anything, I'm ok with stats being included, but more so denote their constitution and physical makeup.

To be honest, even the most disadvantaged pokemon could turn the battle around on someone who has elemental superiority with just some clever thinking.

I'm pretty sure that I would be sour about watching my character lose not because he was outsmarted, but because tactics were forgone for better power. Like I said, showdown is fun, but it halts any creativity into using the environment or your pokemons moves in a unique way (i.e. Runes example of iron tail for defense as opposed to offense).

So in a nutshell, can we not do all of this iv ev stuff and reduce it just to showdown? I might not be the best at writing fight scenes, but I know they can be more fun than using a battle simulation, at least in my opinion.

Some of the stuff is ok, I won't lie, like the incubation stuff; it could help hatch an egg you find quickly and adding certain cost to those seems fair since it is rather expensive to make and such, along with beneficial. But please don't make make this too gamey.

You bring a good point, and I assure you there is a story and a plot that has to go with being centered around team nexus, I'm just trying to set things up for the rest of the game and features.
@AbysmalDemon

You're...explanation isn't helping.

Scenario time:

I don't have Lucy or Lynnette do 'EV Training'. They battle someone who does 'Ev training'.

Would that mean they would automatically lose, or be at a disadvantage against them, since they don't EV train? If so, then that's just ridiculous. EV training shouldn't factor at all into someones battles, as then battles just turn into who can buff their pokemon up more with Proteins and vitamins.

Basically what @Heckno12's is saying. I'm not going to be using showdown at all, as its a cheap, unfair way to conduct battles in my opinion as some pokemon are just inherently going to be stronger than another thanks to how the pokemon metagame is set up. Not to mention, you can't take environmental factors into account, etc, but I digress.

EV's/IV's should have no effect on the outcome of a written battle at all.

I'm trying to tell you that EV training is only being taken to account in showdown. If you are writing out a written battle without using showdown, I'm absolutely fine with it not being taken into account, as that would be unfair.
@AbysmalDemon I'm reading it as, "if it's a factor in the actual writing"

Ah, ok, well in that case...

@Rune_Alchemist Then don't EV train your Pokémon. It's not a requirement, because like you said you weren't planning on using showdown, which is what the EVs are for anyways. So I don't see why we wouldn't use it for the sake of one person that it doesn't apply to.

When I'm challenging gyms I'm using showdown and I'll give someone else the move list for the Pokémon to battle me as the gym leaders. Since I'm using showdown I want to be able to have an advantage against gym leaders by EV training my Pokémon.
@AbysmalDemon
uhh...just noticed on the first page of the OOC, something about EV's/IV's? I do hope that's not going to be a thing unless its strictly for showdown stuff.

Because if it isn't, then I'm sorry, but that's bullshit and I'm out.

So by that you meant if it's in here at all I'm out?
The "EV" could translate to visible effects, even. ie. Protein makes it visibly buffer.

I don't know how I feel about having an absolutely ripped magikarp hopping through a city.
