Guiderone... Fuck this was bad. Matter what happened everything could have been better and easier to deal with if he wasn't involved.
"Shit!" Eli said as he tossed the phone over to his bag. Eli reached into his back pocket and pulled his map." Eric if you want to run, do it now. Pack what you need and these Hills. Don't come back. If you don't, go home and get everything you need to survive. Guns, food, ammo, clothes, whatever you need and follow the red trial on the map.." Eli said stuffing the keys to the car and map into his hand. It was a safe house he had kept up. It was there for situations like this. Situations where he draw up a plan and get it in motion.
Eli ran and picked up his bag. As he ran into the cave it was the first time he saw Christabelle. "Oh shit where did you come from? Danny's gone and we gotta go. We're going back to my house and pick up some gear then we're going to meet some old friends of..." Christabelle was curling herself tighter into a ball. It was like something was wrong to the point of terrifying.
Eli heard Eric Miller say something as he ran off. Eli had no idea what he gonna do but it was Eric's choice to make. No one else's. As Eli looked over to Eric Miller's figure fading into the mountains, he heard Christabelle say something. What she said was not gonna help this at all.
HOURS LATER
Eli was sitting in a old rusted out truck on the side of the road to Harlan. The great thing about Harlan County, there's only way in. Christabelle was in the passenger seat and her dog jack was in the back."Sweetie, if you get scared or anything happens. Don't run, just get down." Eli said as he stepped out of the truck.
Eli was dressed in jeans, boots and a white henley shirt. A far cry for his earlier garb. The belt around his waist held some very interesting items. Four pouches and a drop leg holster with two mag pouches. He had just about everything he needed for a fight. He questioned if he had enough ammo but he didn't there would be any trouble.
As he stepped out into the road, and the vehicle came to a stop. Eli readied himself for whatever make come next. He only hoped it was the smart ass Nathan Hunter he had met a few years back. Eli wasn't the biggest fan of Nate, he liked him fine but there was always something about him that Eli uneasy. Nate was a spec ops medic, that took a very rare and intelligent kind of person. But hell, what did Eli know? He only has a few beers with him. Eli lit a cigarette as he waiting for the driver to step out. His free hand drifted towards his handgun.
