Name: Zendor
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Personality:
This god man wants to teach mortals how to prosper in knowledge and wisdom. He is first and foremost both teacher and student, believing in self improvement and how to teach others how to do the same. This isn't a god who will think he's better than mere mortals and thus have nothing to do with them other than to rule over them and receive worship, he will befriend people, both god and mortal alike. He is a not
just a god. He's a god
man devoted to teaching others not just intellectual knowledge but also for mortals how to best live and prosper.
With that said, he can come across as kind of awkward a lot of the time, albeit well meaning. He has just a tad bit of trouble understanding somethings that should be obvious, some of these things being social conventions, even if he is an extraordinary genius.
Domains:
Mortality: The power of all living things and/or people that have a beginning and ending of their lives
Knowledge: All forms of knowledge. Not just science and learning empirically but also magic. He also comes off as wise which is true, but he is not the god of wisdom per se.
Abilities:
Zendor is a god of mortality and knowledge. As such, he is probably among the most intelligent beings in all creation, and is well versed in all fields of science and many forms of magick. He is also a great healer, thanks to his domain of mortality. Anything that ages and dies, he can restore to perfect health, or even in a round about way grant someone immortality, since he can stop aging permanently. It would take a lot of persuasion for Zendor to do something like that, but he can.
He also knows all forms of magick that a mortal person can learn. The arts of magic included are necromancy, which are the magic spells and methods used to communicate with the dead, illusion, and healing magic, as mentioned, alchemy, clairvoyance, and if the GM permits it, precognition/prophecy. Zendor may even be a master of the many more familiar types of magic in fiction such as elemental spell casting, if that is something that exists in this setting.
As the god of mortality he is also a master survivalist, should he ever need skills of survival like some mortals do, he can do this and teach them very well. All of these are all under his domain of knowledge and mortality, but he is also, as god of knowledge very good at mind games, strategy, battles of wits and probably, should he put his mind to it, intrigue and subterfuge.
He is also remarkably progressed in the ways of science. He is a genius in all fields, but particularly would love to combine the science/magic of alchemy with the hard sciences of chemistry and medicine.
Brief Backstory:Zendor was a god of knowledge, mortality and ritual magick long ago. In addition to being among the most intelligent beings in the universe, he was also extremely powerful, although the power thing is more subjective than objective, of course. He was patron to Doctors of Medicine, all other Scientific fields, and the ways of wizards, witches, etcetera.
However, since he was the god of all forms of knowledge, when the Forgotten Gods lost his power, he lost almost all his power, probably more so than any other god. No one knows what the future holds for Zendor, not even himself.
