Bio

Hello hello~!

I go by Akai or Panda, or sometimes just Jose. I tend to lean towards fantasy/supernatural/action RPs, but I'm always up for anything new! I'm generally very friendly, so don't hesitate to reach out! ^~^

I'm a 20 year old student in biology who lucid dreams of fantastical worlds too often. I'm an avid lover of red pandas, sweet food (desserts particularly), and sleeping! I'm fairly experienced in RPing (it's been about 7 years on various sites) but due to studies, I had to hold off for a bit. But I'm back at it again!

Here are some very Low QualityTM memes about science!

Here's the bio again, if we need to develop more characters.

I'll start off with the mainlanders just docking, once characters are finished up.
Interested!

Quick question though, is it expected that these orphans will have much control over their magical affinity? Was that taught by Fritz?

The Lore

Tales of old bespoke of a land that was once ruled by dragons and mystic beings who worshipped them as unearthly guardians, powers bestowed unto them that would protect them from any other threats in exchange for undying devotion and a plethora of gifts. It was a time when the continent was not ruled by kingdoms of feeble-willed men, but rather creatures of hundreds—even thousands—of years of wisdom.

Some such dragons, with glorious might and the unwavering faith of many, would wage war against each other in attempt to prove who was most glorious in all the land. Their great powers ravaged the land and killed many of the followers that thrived. Many men and families abandoned their following and escaped North, to lands that were no longer inhabited by these ruthless beasts. Others, their faith remaining strong, died in the battles with honor. Many of these great creatures died; others sought refuge in the depths of the ocean or the caverns of the mountains to slumber for millennia.

But some tales speak of a much nobler dragon, Izohir, who saw past these nonsensical wars and thought highly of his people. Instead of leaving them to perish, he used all his power to cut off the land his people lived on from the rest of the continent, drifting it away into a corner of the vast Southern Gulf, to never be heard from again. With energy drained from his body, he too went into a state of deep sleep. Yet they say the people live there still, hidden from the view of other kingdoms.

Many a ship has ventured in that vicinity, only to come back without the slightest clue as to how they were turned back. Rumor has it that, as Izohir valued just and kind acts, those with purest of hearts can reach the isle….

Aysel is a flourishing nation, built up from those who fled from the War of the Dragons in the Southlands. With many cities and villages under its rule, the have become the one solution to the decades of useless skirmishes between differing peoples. Though they possess some ounce of magic from their ancestors, it has slowly been weakened to simple street tricks and, instead, they focus on research and science. Technology is a lifesaver, thanks to the minds of many employed by the council that governs the land.

Now that they thrive, men from Aysel’s council would like to expand and discover new resources from nearby areas. They’ve even begun excavations down in the Southlands in the hopes to uncover any sources to drive their economy! But the one most curious venture they have planned is a voyage into the unknown, into the Southern Gulf, where they will try to find the Isle of Izohir. Though it is kept a secret from the public, those on the voyage know very well what is expected from them, including your characters. On this ship is a wide array of people, from researchers to guards, from royalty to simple crewmen, goods and foods, and especially luxurious gifts, all ready to greet what will meet them on the journey.

After what seems like an eternity on the rough seas, they come to notice land in the distance, colored a pale, dusty rose. They drew nearer and noticed that the land mass was in fact large, with a vast mountain at the center, lush forests washed in a rainbow of bright colors, and what seems to be a city tucked away in the cliffs jutting above the ocean’s waves.

They’d found the lost, ancient Isle of Izohir.

The Gist

This is mostly an open-plot RP, where your characters from the mainland, stumble across the people who are descendants from the original tale (unless you want to split it up and have each of play each side, whatever is cool with me). I’m cool with multiple characters (I’m planning on two or so) and tend to go with high casual style in my posts, but I can do with casual!

As for plot ideas, I am open (again) to almost anything. I’ve had some ideas for the development of taking some of the people from the isle to the mainland or even some things to tie back in with the lore of the wars. But again, I’m really open with anything. There can be romance, there can be action, there can be a lot of stuff.
This is kinda first come, first serve, just so I limit how many RPs I’m involved with. ^~^’ But yea!

If you have any questions, let me know.

Hello, and welcome!! ^~^

@Ruby@Nallore Thank you guys! ^~^
Hi there! I'm AkaiJose, but I go by Akai or Panda (due to my love of red pandas). A couple friends from another forum suggested I join, so here I am!

I've been RPing for about 6 or so years, jumping from forum to forum depending on who's active and where my friends are. But even before RPing, I've always loved to write in my free time! My usual genres are fantasy or supernatural-based RPs, but I have touched upon almost any genre at least once. I'm always open for anything, from 1x1s to group RPs, and my style tends to be between short paragraphs to long, in-depth posts!

Besides RPing, I'm currently studying biology so I have a huge love for science and research! I work in a lab and I'm aiming to actually become a scientist in the future. I'm very fond of reading, watercolor painting, and wood burning, but sometimes I would rather sleep all day and drink hot chocolate. During the winter, when I'm not just stuck indoors, I ski with friends (downhill) and play squash (it's kinda like racquetball I guess). I love travel and videogames and meeting a lot of new, different people, so I usually come across energetic and happy-go-lucky. c:

I hope to meet you all soon! ^-^
