This account is pretty inactive now. But I pop on from time to time to see if anything of interest pops up. I tend to drop out of things with writers block if I find myself lacking in interest, but do try to keep things long=term. Been offline for most of the last 12 months but hoping I might soon find something to get me back in that RP saddle.

Tyler had been sitting in silence, occasionally glancing up from his tray to glance around and take note of additional students entering the cafeteria. As he ate he decided he would make a start on one of his easier pieces of homework. Having the table to himself allowed him the space necessary and his science homework didn't require anything more than pen and paper. He reached into his laptop bag which he'd been using that day to carry his books and brought it up to the table.

As he fetched his notebook and pens from his bag, he looked up as he was greeted by another student. He seemed somewhat confused by the notion of requesting permission to sit at the same table, but then he had until this point managed to keep it vacant of any company. He continued to look at Erik for a few seconds before speaking. "You would be correct, Erik... Fieldson? Please feel free to have a seat. It's good to confirm the face to the name." Tyler had been paying attention to the register calls and through process of elimination was fairly certain his guess at surname was correctly made.

Though he had invited Erik to join him he returned to concentrating on his work and food. He practices a couple of different sketches that he would need for his science homework. "So Erik, how have you found the first day?" Tyler was keeping his head down on his work as he talked. "I believe we were both in politics?" Tyler marks up against some of the sketches in his pad before putting his pen down and looking up with a smile. Working whilst having a conversation was acceptable, however continually doing so was not, at least in his opinion.

Tyler awoke to his alarm on his phone ringing away. Somewhat a rarity in recent memory he turned the alarm off with a smile as he sat up. Such a simple act had become almost novel in recent memory. Though Tyler did wonder if this was the a good sign for the next few months or if he'd just lucked himself into an off day. He spent little time contemplating as he prepared for the day ahead, though the light bruising around his right eye was not likely to set a good or correct first impression.

Using concealment makeup was not something Tyler had been a stranger to, it had been necessary any time he was brought into meetings during his flare ups. As for his daily school attire, Tyler had resigned himself to wearing one of his suits, a black business suit and tie. The corporate look was not a particularly good one for him, but his mind was set on first impressions made.

As soon as the final lesson had finished for the day Tyler pulled loose the tie he'd been wearing. The first day was done and now it was downtime. He had a couple of pieces homework that he would need to get finished prior to new next week rolling around, but none of it seemed that it would be particularly difficult. Though being eased in gradually was likely to be expected. He hadn't been prepared for the test in Math, but it was a subject he was naturally strong in and he felt confident that this would be reflected in his test results.

He looked around from his desk, but as yesterday he was only surrounded by unfamiliar faces. He got up and left the classroom, checking through the missed calls record on his phone. Tyler headed for the cafeteria, the lack of pain being experienced today had lead to a elevated appetite. An early after school meal was exactly what he needed, he wanted to try and establish a kind of schedule for himself to allow him to better manage his day. He decided to take a seat away from other students in the cafeteria, an easy task given the time of day, he wanted to try and avoid more observant students that might question why he had makeup around his right eye, that is if they didn't draw on their own conclusions.
I'll go with the majorities decision ;)
In the interest of helping things move on I thought I'd wrap it up. Otherwise I have a tendency to sometimes get scene stuck.

Hearing Quinn speak of her work was nice. "Well big or not it takes talent to land the part no? Working on steps towards a dream can make the dream more achievable after all." In truth though he hadn't given the idea of joining a club much thought. Though he'd managed to sneak some additional belongings into his luggage that his parents probably would of preferred he'd left behind he had done more so to maintain the hobby than seek those with similar interest. "Perhaps I will join a club if I can find one of interest. But I will probably wait until I've settled here a bit."

"Hm? The time?" Tyler momentarily stops browsing through his phone. "It's... well, it's 6:30pm. I guess time really can fly sometimes after all." He glances around confirming what Quinn had said about most of the other students having left. "Yes, well it seems that..." As he speaks the phone begins to vibrate away in his hand. Caller ID displaying as 'R&D' Tyler sighs as he looks up momentarily. "I should get this." He stands up from his feet folding a five under his cup. "It was a pleasure speaking with you Quinn. I look forward to our classes together." He passes Quinn one last smile as he answers the call.

"Tyler Cross... well I was otherwise occupied until now. But now we can talk." Tyler rolls his eyes as he walks away from the Cafe continuing his conversation. With it being somewhat close to curfew he decides it would be best for him to head back towards his dorm. Were he to start wandering around campus again he'd likely wind up losing track of time.

By the time he reached the dorms his conversation was still ongoing. "Look just send it through to me and I'll take a look at it, almost back at my room." He pauses for a moment. "Look my voice is carrying here we should wrap this up. Oh and one more thing, stop calling. Mr Cross said that I'm to be considered unreachable whilst I'm enrolled here, so no more trying to side step management." Tyler cut the call off whilst the caller was mid-response as he unlocks his room door and enters. He collapsed down onto his bed as he takes his sunglasses off and drops them to the side. Now all he needed was for the insistent throbbing on the right side of his head to call it a day.

"I-I'm fine." Tyler stated in a unconvincing pained tone as he pushed his sunglasses solidly against his face. "It will pass given time. Hopefully sooner rather than later, I'd rather at least attempt to enjoy the day." As he spoke Tyler rubbed at the underside of his right eye with the back of his left hand. "It uncomfortable sure, but it has been much worse. Unfortunately the only thing to do is let it run its course." There was a near awkward pause before Tyler seemingly remembered something. "Though thank you for the offer."

In an attempt to take his mind off of the pain he tried to latch back onto the conversation. "Actress huh? That's quiet the ambition. Have you done any acting work before?" If Quinn had then Tyler was unfamiliar with any of her work, as far as he could recall anyway. "Well, I hope you're able to make the most of this year if what you say is true. I guess I'm fortunate in that I already know what my parents expect me to be studying." Tyler took his phone from his pocket. "Maybe... nevermind it would be rude to presume." He began to tap away on his phone. "Quinn... McNamara... anything interesting out there, Quinn?" He looks up from the phone, the severity of pain in his head seemed to be minor or at least subsiding.

To know they were at least partially like-minded on the subject was rather a relief for Tyler. He was glad that Quinn agreed with taking the time to relax. He had thought it the rather lucky chance encounter, there was likely a large number of students here who have a 'strictly business' mindset. Those that were here purely to succeed and not care for the unique journey that would accompany it.

Despite being a topic he had brought up, balancing workload and free time was not something Tyler excelled at. Not that it was a regular occurrence in his life, most of his free time was spent in offices. On the odd occasion he'd be able to get some time logged on the shop floor, which in his opinion was much more interesting. As his mind wandered he'd failed to notice they were sitting in silence the whole time. Though he was snapped back to reality as a pang of pain throbbed at the right side of his temple.

"Hm?" Tyler grunted out as he rubbed softly at his forehead. "In that case, I guess I'll see you in politics. Aside from that I'm also doing French. But that's pretty much my week, my parents wanted me to branch out to as many language subjects as possible." He tried to ignore the pain lowering his hand down to the table. "But Drama and politics, that's an interesting combination. Part of fulfilling both dreams and responsibilities?" Tyler probed as he circled the conversation back to the earlier topic. He takes in another mouthful of coffee as he glances into the mug frowning at the level that remained.

Tyler sipped once more at his drink as Quinn answered his question. There was something about the tone of the answer, that had they met much earlier in the day he might of pursued. Though instead he contemplated upon it, fulfillment of both dreams and responsibility sounded like a rather ambitious goal to have. Though Quinn was right in that the very structure of the academy could well serve to make it possible. To a certain extent he was jealous of such a motivation when considering his own.

It was on that thought that the conversation seemed to take a turn towards why he was here. He chuckles at Quinn's comment of him using the academy as an excuse to ignore his phone before taking a swig of his drink. "Well it's not the only reason at least." Despite seemingly going with the joke his tone was serious. "It's a give and take. More responsibility than dreams, well future responsibilities. As for present responsibilities, they're... lesser than usual." Tyler thought of the lessons that he would be taking, most of which were chosen for him rather than by him. "Hopefully the subjects I chose and other activities will keep things interesting."

The more Tyler thought about it though, he was probably more pleased to be here than not."Moments like this one for example, I believe these will be more common place here than back home. Also... ignoring calls is a lot easier when the person calling you is unlikely to see you anytime soon." His mood had seemingly brightened in comparison to when he had originally started the conversation. Not talking directly about business was a good change of pace. "It's almost like some kind of strange escape, that my parents seem to be supportive of."
Thought I'd get my post up today, cause won't get another chance until about this time tomorrow.

The smile returned to Tyler's face as he shook Quinn's hand. A firm handshake was a pleasant experience, a thing some people at his parents company should learn to accomplish more readily. "Likewise Miss McNamara..." A slip of the tongue as he tried to quickly correct himself. "Quinn, sorry." Addressing people with a title was something he was more accustomed to, a habit he hoped he'd eventually be able to drop. He glanced over to the seat being gestured to. "That's very kind of you. I'll be back in a moment." He states whilst walking over to the cafe's door and heading inside.

The shop did seem to have its own unique charm. These small establishments used to always have that sort of feel to them. Oddly it made them sometimes seem a bit similar. He approached the serving counter as he looked over the students already there, though he decided best not to intrude on their conversation. More so given that someone else had already welcomed his company and it'd be especially rude to keep them waiting longer than necessary.

He ordered a double shot americano, he needed something a little on the strong side to recoup some of his lost energy. By the the time he was going to leave one of the other customers had left the establishment. They perhaps had more pressing things to attend to than networking. Tyler headed back outside the cafe and took a seat opposite Quinn and gestured in a cheering fashion before taking a sip of the beverage. "So..." Tyler lowered the cup down to the table and lowered his sun glasses, to test his eye sensitivity. "What brings you to Pine Hills? I mean aside from its 'obvious appeal'." The added emphasis on the end sounded more like something that had been drummed into him rather than his own sentiment. He glanced down toward his hoodie pocket for a moment before leaning toward the table, ignoring the vibrating phone.
