Soooooo tempted.

However, rolling entire armies or as individual characters could be a bit jarring.

I will wait and see how the OOC develops before formally throwing my hat in the ring!
So I'm trying to reignite an old passion of mine, writing FanFiction featuring OC's in familiar universes. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble kick-starting my muse in this area and feel like I need to get the creative juices flowing a bit.

To that end, I was wondering if anybody would like to join me in writing a Casual-Advanced RP set in the Valkyria Chronicles universe.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eight Days after the Imperial Invasion, the Gallian Army has all but abandoned the north coast of the country. A handful of regular army soldiers are ordered to protect a train of refugees fleeing the advancing 44th Imperial Division, from the border town of St. Margeux all the way to the city of Dunrest, where the Gallian Navy promises to ferry them to safety.
Alongside these soldiers stand the Gallian Militia, untested, unbloodied, but determined to fight for hearth and home. One team of soldiers is assigned to an aging Gallian tank pulled out of reserves- Princess.
Her Commander - Queen, a hard bitten veteran of the First Europan War, and the only member of the crew with experience in a tank. She keeps the other members of the crew in line while forcing them onward with the brutality of a slave driver.
Her Gunner - Bully, a cruel Darcsen who gleefully blows away Imperial soldiers with Princess' cannon. His anger borders on the sociopathic at times, and his ancestry is often the target of Squish's provincial prejudice. Can turn from cruel to cowardly the minute the deck turns against them.
Her Driver - Squish, a member of the militia fighting to protect her younger brother who moves with the refugees they protect. A provincial girl who planned to become a doctor, she is the tank's driver and forward machine gunner.
-------------------------------------------------
Whoever would like to join in is welcome to create a group of infantry or another tank crew. I PLAN on just running through a combat scenario (ambushing an Imperial column) and interactions back at base to get to know the characters better, but may continue on from there as the plot/fun demands ^_^
Feel free to post or PM me! Hope to hear from somebody soon!
@Aleranicus I'm going to need a age, a time zone or era. I don't have a age on Tegvan because I'm using him to drive the story for you guys. A babysitter/guide if you will.
Done and done!
@Aleranicus
I really don't remember that being there. Did you just put him in half an hour ago?
Maybe i'm forgetting more things nowadays, anyhow.
Also, is he/she male or female? Cause I know that the character concept is prolly based from the Asari, which were all female, and the name "Aliss" is a bit of a female name (I've never heard of a guy named Aliss), but the character looks male, and I'm kinda confuzzled.
@WilsonTurner I put the picture in an hour ago. I put the entire CS up on Friday.
As far as the male/female thing goes, monogendered, so there's really no male or female. Pronoun is hir. But if you must, then male. I figured as one of the only aliens on the ship, I'd make Aliss kinda weird.
Courtly intrigue with supernatural OCs? I WANT IN PLZ!
Name: Selvaril
Race: Elf
Position: Knight of Summer Hunt
Age: Roughly 300 Human Years
Personality: Ser Selvaril holds to the traditions of the Summer Court, placing honor and courage above petty tricks carried out against mortals. However, he still holds the life of his human squire, Toby, fairly gained in a trade. Selvaril does not look favorably on those who interrupt the balance of the courts for the sake of fun and games- any trick or scheme must favor Summer's dominance, or he will not hesitate to turn over the offenders to the wounded party.
Appearance: Image Coming soon! But as a gentry Elf, Selvaril stands as tall as a human male, his long pointed ears and silver hair the main features which separate him from the paltry mortals of this world. Often wears a plate male breastplate and carries his sword, Truth-Cutter.
Background: Ser Selvaril has been in service to the Court of Summer for generations (by Faerie reckoning). He has gained a reputation as both a lover and a fighter within the Court, partaking in duels for the joy of combat and the test of battle. His long life has allowed Selvaril to look back on the days when the Summer Court was both dominant and in decline amongst the courts. Oftentimes their passionate nature and alliances with the Spring Court would be their undoing, as Summer was left to take responsibility for Spring's immature pranks and tricks. Among Fall and Winter Courts, Selvaril has a reputation as a generally fair mediator, while Spring views him as a spoilsport.
Umm... Hey...
So I read through everything I missed over the weekend, and can't seem to find any responses to my CS I posted at all...
At the same time, I saw the "Everyone is accepted" post from earlier too.
We cool???
Ah then I should note that Max was a Cell Lieutenant when she worked for The Arm. While not exactly a military organisation, they were a militant terrorist group, so I reckon that counts. I will edit my CS appropriately.
IF Aliss is approved, I so want one of Maxxine's high profile kills to be one of Aliss' former clients.
Too much potential there for drama/fun.
"Man, it sucks the Colonel died, but the grenade in the flowerpot wasn't something I'd picture in a million years!"
Full Name: Aliss Armana
Alias: "White King"
Rank: Freelance Cour'tesa
Occupation: Cour'tesa
Prior Service: Cour'tesa Guild, F.I.A. (Federation Intelligence Agency [under contract] ), Santeres Prime Household Guard (Under Contract)
Age: 76 Terran / 25 Govarri
Credentials:
- Love, remind me to tell you about the time I foiled no less than three assassination attempts against Overlord Corvanis of Santeres Prime by the Black Hand Syndicate. Their grenade landing right back in their vehicle's window was precious and one of my best moments!
- I was banished from Govarri's moon for protecting CEO Karshalal of the Diamond Industrial Bank- not because I failed, but because his rivals decided it would be cheaper to buy the bank after their assassins never made it back. Apparently they made the mistake of paying up front for services rendered.
- Remember that "Gas Leak" on the Luna Secundus Satellite Colony over Terra? Yeah, it turns out there had been an illegal AI developed by the Governor General to create a more efficient bureaucracy. An awakened computer took control of the colony and promptly began massacring the entire populace. I got the Governor out just as the Colony was blasted into the black by the Federation navy.
- Last month I performed emergency first aid on Captain Rojers Black of the freelance battleship Indomitable after he took multiple kinetic rounds to the sternum from partisans of Titan. Not to brag, but I likely saved Cpt. Rojer's life and prevented the outbreak of a Third Privateer War in the process.
Comment: The Cour'tesa among the Govarri are viewed as a combination of socialites, spies, and bodyguards for hire. Unfortunately, most of the galaxy assumes they are airheaded hookers rather than the cultured assistants and intelligence agents they are trained to be. This is largely due to mis-characterization by Federation media, and is (secretly) supported by the Cour'tesa Guild in a disinformation campaign. Cour'tesa receive rudimentary training in First Aid and weaponry, but no more than an average soldier in the Federation.
Usually hired by very paranoid planetary dictators around the Govarri system as increased security measures, or freelancing with other intelligence agencies or pirate operations, Cour'tesa are given free reign to work for any agency or government- even those that work against Govarri.
Aliss has worked as a bodyguard for ruthless dictators and idealistic heads of state. Cour'tesa can work as professional suit-and-tie Secret Service guards, or go so far as sleeping in the same bed as their charges to ensure their safety around the clock.
The Govarri have grown rich off of the Guild's services to the dozens of planetary dictators that surround their system, and the Guild ensures that this "wild west" of planets is kept in flux at all times, preventing local threats from escalating to endanger their planet and ensuring any move by the Federation to occupy the worlds would be costly in both blood and treasure.
For group awareness, I won't be posting until Monday.
