@Lord Wraith@Star Lord Yeah, at first I was thinking of just a straight up Ant-Man Hawkeye team-up. However, since I put the idea in my head every idea I think of I try and figure out a way to do it similar in style to the CW shows and, other than Legends, each of them start with a singular hero doing the fighting so I tried to think of a way to pair the two together in a way where there was only one fighter at the start and that was the idea I came up with. And I picked Hawkeye over GA because It's an easy way to make Kate a potential NPC and there is already a GA CW show and it would feel weird to me to do that and I chose Scott Lang because of Cassie.
If this idea is too convoluted and won't work just let me know and I'll probably just do a normal Ant-Man run. All my other ideas were too far-fetched and weird to even me that I just threw them out.
What are initial thoughts on an Ant-Man(Scott Lang) and Hawkeye duo where they get brought together by both being blackmailed by some criminal into stealing something, not sure what. Neither want to do it as they are both good people and eventually work together to stop the villain. That'd be where I start their story. They'd both just be starting out and Scott wouldn't even have the suit yet. He'd start out as a sort of Oracle or Overwatch for Clint until the whole thing with Cassie's heart happens. Clint will have just left the circus and tries to be a hero but is mistaken for another fancily dressed criminal and keeps getting roped into doing crimes until Scott helps him. What does everyone think of this idea before I start working on a sheet?
I'm nowhere near done. I plan on double checking triple checking and possibly quadruple checking to make sure if there is anything I wanna change as well as letting you guys see it in case there is anything that definitely needs changing before I finish the sample post.

"Look, here's the deal. We've got a super-soldier, a giant girl, a Skrull/Kree super-soldier, Billy (who, yeah, is kind of lame, but can cast spells), an Olympic class archer and martial artist, and... me. And really, me's all you need. So tell me, whattayou got that makes you think you shouldn't just give up?" - Speed
Nathanial Richards was born in the 30th century of an alternate Earth. The young man was often bullied but one day fate decided to change for this young man. Kang the Conqueror appeared preventing a bully from injuring Nathanial. Kang then outfitted Nathanial in Neuro-Kinetic armor and informed him that he was the future version of Nathanial whilst showing him glimpses of his future. The young Richards was horrified by what he was destined to become and attacked his future self. Richards decided to renounce his destiny and used the time traveling capabilities in his armor to travel back in time but he hopped dimensions as well, landing in present-day Absolute Comics.
Knowing that Kang would come after him, Nathanial sought out anyone he thought might be of help. However, being trapped in an unknown time and dimension he didn't know who he could trust. He started searching for the Mighty Avengers, the greatest heroes of all time from his dimension, only to be surprised in finding no trace of the legendary team. Doing some digging into the members he could remember he discovered that some were either missing, dead, or had just begun their journeys.
Nathanial knew that going to any adults would be a potential recipe for disaster. They'd either lock him away or send him back and neither was an option. So, after a few months of digging, he located various people of his age which he knew had some connection to the Avengers in his world. Elijah, Teddy, and William all seemed to jump at the chance to do something amazing. From this point, everything is very similar to the way it goes in the comics.
The only difference is that unless someone wants their character to do this and we can find a way to make it work, Rip Hunter appears before the quartet one day demanding a few answers from Nathanial. While the two talked privately about what brought him to where he was, the other three were confronted by Kate Bishop and Cassie Lang who, in an earlier mission that the quartet undertook, helped the team and both sought to join. At this point, Kang appeared attacking anyone nearby searching for his younger self. With the help of Rip Hunter, the teenagers barely were able to send Kang packing. That's when Rip warned them all that if Nathanial stayed in this time that Kang would keep coming and eventually either time would rend or they may all die.
Informing the others as to what Rip was taking about Nathanial decided it was best to go back to his own time. However, he assured his team that he wasn't giving up and it'd only be a matter of time before he found a way for them to fully beat Kang. Before he left though Nathanial left them with a list of all other possible members he had found. Sample post will be the meeting with Tommy.

The Young Avengers is my favorite team in all of Marvel. I just love the characters and how, despite each representing members of the Avengers, they are so different from the team they are named after. I've also wanted to see the idea of the team existing without the Avengers played out, and this RP with the way the other characters are being used makes it the perfect place to test it out. Obviously, without the Avengers their name wouldn't make sense so I went with the Successors because each of them has someone they admire and wish to emulate. They all have a reason for wanting to help people and despite them trying to figure it out as they go they won't give up. They also have the added motivation to find a way to help their friend lost to time.
I know that a majority of their main storylines involve very big events where they are in a larger crossover story or they bring in larger characters so for those I would ask beforehand if y'all were fine with me doing the storyline without the larger characters. Specifically, the one where the Super Skrull comes for Teddy. But the majority of my ideas would play out similarly to the CW show Legends of Tomorrow without time travel. Just traveling the country occasionally but mostly staying in New York. It'll be light-hearted fun adventures fighting the various bad guys of the week but with an overarching villain which will be built up to for a big fight between the team and the foe.

The current leader of the Successors. After Captain America disappeared, America sought to recreate the lost super soldier serum and began experimenting on African-American soldiers. Elijah's grandfather, Isaiah, was one of the very few to survive. Though the project and subsequent covert ops were meant to be secret, he became a legend known as the Black Captain America. Eli became obsessed with the stories and idolized his grandfather. However, he was born without powers, unlike his uncle who had the powers of Isaiah due to being born after Isaiah received his abilities while Eli's mother was born before. Due to this Eli lied about having powers and has been using Mutant Growth Hormone to propagate the lie.
Prince Dorrek VIII is the son of Captain Mar-Vell and Princess Anelle making him a Kree/Skrull hybrid. However, he knew none of this for the longest time. To the rest of the world, he is Theodore Altman. He knew he could shape-shift but assumed he was just a mutant. The young teen would do whatever he could to please the 'it' crowd at school and the various requests kept escalating. It eventually leads to the most popular kid in school asking him to break into Oscorp to steal something that could net them some moolah. Giving into peer pressure he went through with it but his foster mother found out and stopped him. Realizing he had discovered his powers, Teddy's mother told him of his lineage. Something he had wanted to know for years. Realizing his father had been a great hero Teddy reflected on his actions and felt ashamed. When Nathaniel came to him Teddy felt as if the universe was giving him a chance to make up for the way he had been wasting his abilities and sought to right his wrongs and live up to the legacy of his father.
From a young age, William Kaplan was a massive fanboy of anything and everything superhero. Because of this and his sexuality, he was often bullied. One day when a bully was attacking him, Billy accidentally manifested his mutant powers nearly killing the bully. Thankfully a hero appeared at just the right time. That hero was Doctor Strange. The Doctor informed William of the great magical force emanating from him. Right after he used a spell to seal away a majority of Billy's power telling him that he wouldn't undo this unless Billy found a way to control his remaining power and showed he wouldn't use it for evil. Most teenagers would be angry but after almost killing someone Billy was a little grateful but he could feel the locked away strength. It felt like a hole deep inside so when he decided to try and control his power in order to have Doctor Stange give the rest of it back. Billy couldn't track down the hero but he knew that if he became strong enough that the Doctor would come to him.
Katherine Bishop was your average white American female. Except that her family was extremely wealthy. Due to how her mother tried to raise her as a kind woman, Kate started becoming uncomfortable with how wealthy her father was and didn't seem to do anything with it other than live lavishly with his children, wife excluded as they were divorced. One night Kate secretly witness her father beating a man in his study. Becoming curious and decided to see what was up. She followed the man after he left but as she had no training in such a thing was easily found out and captured. She was held for ransom until an arrow flew into the room she was being held captive looking to the source she and her captures saw Hawkeye. The archer saved her and took down the criminals. However, her father got away with whatever it was he had been doing. Kate decided she'd investigate all the while using her fathers' money to get lessons in various martial arts and archery. She was inspired by the heroic deeds of Hawkeye and became a vigilante. One day she was chasing down a thief who stole from Pym Laboratories. Tracking him down she came across Scott Lang and his daughter Cassie. So did Hawkeye. (Basically, I'm adding in that instead of Pym following Scott both Hawkeye's followed along helping out in rescuing Dr. Erica Sondheim with Cassie being older at this point as well.) As a result of this mission, Kate and Cassie became friends, Scott Lang became the Ant-Man, and Hawkeye shut down Kate's little vigilante game.
A few years later, Kate and Cassie are still friends, Scott Lang is dead, and Hawkeye has vanished. They are attending Kate's sisters' wedding when kidnappers attack intending to use everyone there for ransom. That's when the Quartet of boys show up and fail miserably to save everyone. Both Kate and Cassie agree to help the team save everyone. Kate is someone who became inspired by one of the 'lesser' heroes. It was that hero that saved her though. So, she decided to take on his mantle and help the pitiful group of boys trying to be heroes.
Cassandra Lang grew up with a rough upbringing. Her parents loved and adored her but her father was a criminal trying and failing to reform, the two were constantly fighting, and they had practically no money as they had to constantly pay for medical bills as Cassie had a heart condition. All of those factors aside Cassie adored her father. He was a child inside and the two had an interesting bond. When Scott became the Ant-Man, Cassie's adoration for her father grew and she wanted to become a hero just like him but everyone, including her friend Kate, though it was too dangerous with her heart. At one point, Scott Lang worked alongside the Fantastic Four. Surprisingly, Cassie's mother would let her stay at the Baxter building with Scott. Whenever no one was looking Cassie would expose herself to Pym Particles in the hopes that one day it would cause her to develop powers and be a hero like her father.
The course of events after this is that about a year before the Successors team up Scott Lang is killed in a freak accident. Cassie Lang was left without the love and support of her father. He was her parent, her inspiration, her hero and more. The man who had meant so much to her had died. Cassie was very saddened by her father's death, but as one hero would leave this world, another would take his place. She didn't want to live with her mother and step-father who were vocally anti-superhumans, and with the help of Kate runs away. She's able to hide at Kate's expansive home and is around for the event at the wedding. She does what she can to help which isn't much. Along with Kate, Cassie hunts down the boys in order to join the team and, just like in the comics, accidentally reveals to herself and the team that she has received powers because of the Pym Particle exposure. Cassie has always dreamt of being a hero and with her father gone she feels immense pressure on her shoulders. She decides not to take a similar name but still seeks to honor the memory of her father.
Thomas Shepard is nothing like the rest of the team. As a kid, he was a troublemaker causing all sorts of problems. He was just your average prankster though until his mutant powers manifested. Reports are inconclusive but they say that Tommy 'accidentally' vaporized his school. As a result, he was sent to a high-powered detention facility. He is quite content with causing mischief. He could care less about being a hero, but when a group of teen heroes comes to break him out seeking new members he catches a close glimpse of one of them realizing that they have an uncanny resemblance. Intrigued by the new mystery and amused at the proposition of joining this ragtag team of 'heroes' Tommy goes along for the ride.
S A M P L E P O S T:
Tommy woke up with a loud yawn. Looking to his right he added another tally to the wall of the solitary confinement room. Today was the 14th day in a row that he's been locked in here. Meaning that he was about to be reintroduced into society. Well, juvie society. That term doesn't even fit right honestly. This pris- corrections facility for dangerous mutants wasn't anything like your average detention center. Instead of an allotted amount of outside and exercise time they had a random draw to see who'd get experimented on that day. In reality, the warden would choose whoever's face was annoying him most at the time.
The young man soon heard footsteps coming in his direction. He grinned, it was showtime. "Hey, that you Greg? How're the wife and doggies? Did little Rex get neutered yet? You don't need puppies down the line." The viewing hatch slid open and Tommy saw a guard he didn't recognize. "Hmm, I don't recognize you. Anyway, I've been a good little boy and I'm ready to join the collective again." Without a word the window closed and instead of the hand hatch opening he heard the click of the door unlocking. 'That's not protocol.' Tommy thought. He raised his fist not sure as to what was happening but if they were taking him back to that test tube it wouldn't be without a fight.
Slowly, the door creaked open and on the other side stood two odd-looking guards and a kid. The bulkier guard asked, "Hey, are you, Thomas?"
"Teddy don't be so obvious. This is a covert op." Came from the one with a bright red, white, and blue shield on his back. Both seemed to grimace as a slight squawking noise came from their ears. However, most of that occurrence was lost on Tommy and the other kid as they stared at each other. At the same time, both said, "Why do you have my face?" The bulkier of the two guards took a closer look at the two and then smiled exclaiming, "Whattya know. Maybe that's destiny telling us we picked the right guy!"
This odd and very confusing meeting was cut short though as throughout the entire complex an alarm went off. ALERT! CATEGORY FOUR INTRUSION! ALL DETAINEE'S RETURN TO CELL! ALL PERSONNEL ENCOURAGED TO SHOOT ON SITE!
'Category four intrusion? What the heck does that mean? Whoever these guys are they must be powerful.' He thought about questioning them but soon the kid grabbed his wrist and they all began running. "WAIT! Who the heck are you guys?"
"There's no time to explain but we're busting you outta here." That was definitely a surprising answer. Tommy didn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth but what these guys want from him. The group ran down corridor after corridor until just ahead of them was a blockade of guards. The shield-guard yelled for them to get behind him as he pulled the item out blocking any fire. Crap! They were pinned down. Tommy had gotten dragged into some weird prison break scheme and he was about to be riddled with holes because of it.
"Geez, leave you boys alone for ten minutes and you trip the alarm and get backed into a corner. What should we do with you?" Tommy frantically looked around for this new voice. Where the heck was it coming from. The bulky-guard yelled out in response, "SAVE US!" Tommy was rightly confused. He didn't like being forced to leave his safety in the hands of these, for lack of a better term, idiots. If only he could get the darned power dampening collar off. Suddenly though all of the guards down the hall start flying around knocking into each other. Once they were all down for the count a girl grew right in front of him.
She looked back and forth from Tommy and the kid then saying, "Woah... you guys could be... twins."
"I know right. It's uncanny."
"Guys, we're on a time crunch here." All the others looked at shield-guard and nodded their heads in confirmation. Again they pulled Tommy along not explaining a thing. They reached the courtyard but realized they were surrounded. The warden stepped out in front of them. "Well. This is quite interesting. Mr. Shepard, our most 'obeidient' detainee trying to escape. And he even found some friends to help him. I have to say it was definately surprising to have four complete unknowns break into my facility. What on earth was your plan though. Did you really expect to be strong enough to fight your way out of here?"
"Well, originally the plan was to get in, grab Thomas here, and teleport out. But after we found out about the illegal experimentation the five of us decided to break Thomas and everyone else out as well."
"And how were the five of you going to do that from out here?" A cheeky little grin spread on Tommy's face. "Hate to break it to you Warden but I'm not one of their five."
"What?" Right next to them the kid opened a portal and out stepped a girl dressed in what looked like a Hawkeye cosplay. "I set the charges. Time to go."
Before the boy could open a portal the guards opened fire. He quickly created a force field to cover them
I can always use one of their other names if you need me to. The way I'm making their backstory isn't contingent on the Avengers having been a thing. I wanted to avoid that cause I honestly expected someone to apply for one of those characters so I came up with a backup plan.
@Hillan Right now I'm trying to determine if I need a speedster to replace Speed and if so who'd be the best candidate. Thinking on the timeline of events and the point in history you're using for Flash it wouldn't make sense to bring in Impulse for the YA. The story I'm going with for how they start is very similar to the actual story where instead Iron Lad gets trapped in the time and dimension we are using and gathers allies of anyone he thinks he can use/trust. So, unless Impulse came on his own he wouldn't be around to even be recruited.
@DocTachyon That's fine by me. As it stood with me she probably was going to be a latter addition anyway as that's what happened with the YA. They started with a few people and over time others just kept joining for various reasons.
