Current Hey, all! I will be away on a week-long camping trip from 8/7 to 8/13 and won't be able to respond to RP during that time. I will send replies as soon as I return. Happy summer!

Bio

Why, Hello There!

Welcome to my nifty little hovel! *bows* Who you'll find here is an aspiring writer with over 15 years of various RP experience. I prefer plot-driven fantasy and/or supernatural RPs with a romantic twist. I write from the mid-casual to high-advanced levels and am fairly open-minded when it comes to mature content. I am always looking for new RP partners, so if any of this sounds interesting to you, don't be shy!

What I Look For in an RP Partner

You must be *this tall* to write with me. Please be over 18.

One liners are the devil. Though I prefer literate quality over quantity (especially when it comes to dialogue), if you're the type that practically writes a novel per post, I'll love you forever. If you can only crank out a couple of paragraphs but they engage me, I'll be just as excited. All I ask is a touch of effort.

Get your chit chat on. I like to make friends with my RP partners, so if you're the type that loves OOC chat, by all means yammer away! I also LOVE discussing the RP, so please please please don't hesitate to speak your mind if you're bored, stuck, have an idea, or just want to be silly in OOC with your characters. I am remarkably flexible and would rather rewrite scenes and/or scrap weeks/months of RP for something new than watch one die due to lack of communication.

Leave you slice-of-life, fluff, and tavern RP at the door. I have nothing against these things--in fact I expect any and all of these things in my RP and then some because that's the stuff of developing character relationships. However, I need more--conflict, a purpose, a goal, some sort of basic storytelling device to keep the RP going. Essentially, I need direction through plot; I get lost and anxious if all our characters ever do is talk.

Own your flakiness. We've all done it--ditched an RP without a word. It happens. I understand. But please tell me if you're just not feeling it or if you need to take a break for any reason. I am incredibly patient and have picked RPs back up that have been under hiatus for months and even years. Thus, your absence would be just that--absence. If you are someone that has suddenly ditched without a word and want to return, hit me up! I promise I won't gripe or fuss; I'm just happy to RP.

Get it--got it--good! If I haven't scared you away by this point, please drop me a PM! Even if you don't have a specific idea in mind, I am more than happy to help you brainstorm something awesome.

Some of the Victorian-style dresses are very pretty indeed :)

Jeron almost wanted to laugh; for once, his panic stemmed from something other than the echo of angry shouts in the distance, the cacophony of frenzied dogs on the hunt, or the harsh jeers for his blood.

He wished he could sink into the tree that he clung to, for his skin to turn to wood and bark, for leaves to sprout in place of his hair, for him, at the tender age of 12 years, to become inconspicuous, ordinary amongst ordinary trees. Instead, he squeezed his eyes shut and bit down hard on his bottom lip while perched on a high branch, hoping that by not seeing the mob search for him, they would not see him. He could hear their angry shouts and the erratic beat of several footsteps on the forest floor. He could feel the heat of torch fires beneath him. He could smell their fear, their anger, their maniacal elation. His own terror threatened to loosen his grip on the tree, to tip his balance, to make him fall. He fought against it with nothing more than the meager will to see another sunrise.

No one was after him at this moment. No one wanted his blood. He was so lost that he doubted anyone could find him. Lost. He was panicking because he was lost, such a petty thing, almost amusing, except he didn’t want to die here, not when he had so much left to accomplish; getting lost in these woods was certainly something to take very seriously.

Funny that he came to the Aberlynn forest of all places unarmed.

A sudden voice tore through the silence, and Jeron nearly jumped out of his skin as he whirled around towards the source of the noise. One hand flew instinctively to his face, assuring himself that all parts of his body were covered, that none of his moon-white hair peeked through the cowl. His other hand moved to his hip where the tip of his sword ought to be, grasping at nothing instead. Of course. What a fool he was!

Except he did not face a mob or an armed soldier. A woman stood before him instead, completely nonthreatening in her cumbersome attire and her basket of whatever. This did not make Jeron any less tense. Women had screeching power—this creature could run off into the woods, squawk his presence to everyone, throw him into certain danger. He needed to silence her before she could make a peep, but he had no damn sword--!

Only then did her words finally register, fear transforming to mild disbelief. Was she chastising him for entering the forest? No one ever took the time to chastise him for anything! He realized that she regarded him with…annoyance?

She obviously did not know what he was.

Not sure how to properly react to this woman, Jeron decided to follow instinct for the time being.

“Nothing says—“ He cleared his throat, croaky from lack of speaking, and tried again. “Nothing says I cannot enter this forest,” he snapped. “Whatever lurks in here is far less dangerous than anything that lives out there.” He pointed in the direction of what he once believed to be the edge of the forest. “Now leave me be!”
Lady of the Forest by Jennifer Roberson. Lately I've been into historical fantasy "liek woah." If there's romance in it, bonus. And if it carries some sort of feminist flavor, I'm all over it.

Yes, I'm a dork and can be such a girl at times lol.

I love reading; it was always my favorite pastime. The trouble with it is that it's hard to make friends doing it lol. It's such an isolating hobby unless one joins a book club or something. But then reading for a book club feels more like an assignment, and it's less fun that way.
lol

I'm not much of a cook, unfortunately. I keep meaning to correct this because if I have a recipe on hand I do pretty good. Meh.

I've never picked up Minecraft for some reason. Perhaps it's the art style, I don't know. I did get a little into a 2D game that is very similar to it, though--Terraria. Nifty little game.

I'm currently reading a retelling of Robin Hood from Maid Marian's point of view. It's surprisingly good for not having much action. And yes, there is also reading via RP posts :D

Hey :)

I have the post half-way written. I had plans to finish it tonight, but that will have to wait. Expect it tomorrow or Thursday, I promise! Herring is just too awesome to refuse!

I hope things are going well with you! *hugs* Chat with you later...
Ah, WoW... I did The Works. I raided. I RP'd. I crafted and explored. Probably the only thing I didn't do was PvP. My best online friends I made through that game. But time changes and life changes. I still love the game very very much to where I keep up with the storyline via YouTube videos and I keep in-the-know with its updates, but I have zero desire to put that much time into a game like that again, and even if I did, I don't have the time. My family comes first. And most of my friends moved on to other things and different lives. So life goes.

What do you play currently? Any other hobbies? I'm a book nerd; go me!

Oh, if I don't respond after your response, it simply means I've passed out and the chit-chat will continue tomorrow or whenever we are next online :3
I love both cats and dogs, but I like cats a little more :3 I love their sassiness

lol, and it's alright! Now I feel bad, like I'm putting you on the spot :p I'm not much of a gamer, but I have a friend and a family member who are obsessed with games, so I keep in-the-know without having to play much. For instance, I love your Skyrim-themed everything even though I've played the game all of 10 minutes lol. Your lockpicking gif, especially, cracks me up--seen that scenario happen many times from watching my bf play the game lol

The games I do play are MMOs. World of Warcraft has a special place in my heart. But I don't have the time to play like I used to, and playing with other people stresses me out lately, so I like to tinker with them every so often more than anything else.

I saw Wonder Woman over the weekend! It was a pretty good movie! My only complaint is in regards to the main villain, but I won't give that away until after :p
How could anyone turn down cute gifs? :D

Just chatting helps immensely
Re RP: Squeeee!!

Re bio: Thank you!

Re my past couple of days: Been going through a lot of emotional ups and downs. I hope I'll get over it eventually. In the meantime, I'll just keep on writing! :) Thank you for asking, though; I really appreciate it.
Aleksander listened to this girl’s fragmented speech to the best of his ability, concerned with how disoriented she was. How could she not know where she came from or what happened to her? Perhaps she had been kidnapped? Drugged? His mind began to sink into the worst possible scenarios.

He frowned when she mentioned her injury, his gaze searching her form for any sign of it. From the way she favored her weight on one leg, he assumed it was a leg or ankle injury, perhaps not too bad considering he saw no blood and she was still coherent.

Caitriona… He knew that name. The hairs on Aleksander’s neck stood on end as his gaze followed the movement of her hands along the chain of her necklace…and a very familiar pendant attached to it…

Two other riders approached on horseback as the prince gaped at the woman, the horses kicking up dust as they halted, the accompanying dogs picking up a fuss of barks, snarls and whines, much like Alaksander’s dogs had.

The prince ignored them as though they weren’t even there, his gaze transfixed in shock on the girl. “Caitriona,” he murmured below the noise of restless animals and their humans. He approached her cautiously, his eyes drinking in every detail of her—her hair, the features of her face, the birthmark on her shoulder…

“Oi, Sander, where’d ya go? The boar’s the other way,” one of the nobleman said, a portly fellow that exuded confidence from the proud way he sat on his horse and grinned.

“There’s a girl, Peter,” the other man mumbled, lanky and sullen with a hood over his head.
“Just some peasant girl. A boar’s more exciting.”

“Not according to the dogs. Not according to the prince.”

One by one, they dismounted.

Aleksander seemed not to care. “Princess Caitriona?” He stopped directly in front of her, so close he could scoop her up in his arms, tempted to do just that. From here, there was no mistaking the birthmark.

“Is she alright?” Peter asked, peering around Aleksander.

“I think…I think I know you,” Aleksander remarked to Caitriona at the same time.

“Who is she?” the other nobleman asked.

Aleksander continued to ignore them. “That birthmark, that necklace… I’ve seen paintings, been told stories.”

“Is he even listening to us?” Peter grumbled.

“I think you’re…you’re my betrothed…”
