"Well if I was in your shoes, which would be uncomfortable because you wear a couple sizes smaller than me, I would have picked my ass over the good doc as well." Giving her a quick pat on the back as they made their way to the rec room. Even with his time here not being to long isolation was not a word he was unfamiliar with. However, he did owe Jo for saving his ass. Lord knows that another second more would have passed and the Doc would have asked Joshua to knock him out. "Now with such a great move back there you win a once in a life time prize. I owe you a huge favor whenever you see fit to cash it. One stipulation will be that it can't be a brand new car. Not in my current budget."He was pantomiming away as though he was hosting a game show. @unfallenangel

I will wait for your post before responding again. No rush
"Fire!!" screamed many patrons around the room as chaos began to ensue. Law's adrenaline peaked and he began to scan the crowd. There they were, a woman brandishing fire from her...hands?! Oh no, we have enhanced people here now. Shit I have to do something but lord knows what my songs do to other's with powers like mine. His eyes went wide and he whiped around to his band. "Boys and girls do everything you can to help out the Agents here protecting the event." Before he jumped down from the stage he grabbed a hold of the mic and made his way toward the center floor.

Thank god for wireless mics now a days sweat began to drip from his bow as he noticed the other assailant preparing to open fire upon the crowd. Songs racing through his mind like a slot machine that was just pulled hoping for big money. Think you fool what emotion needed to happen at a time like this?! I need something calming and perhaps something that could invoke...empathy? The slots of the machine in his head began to drop into place.

Just like that he began to breath in a cadence. This began to help his heart get under control. Mic now raising to his lips, focusing as hard as he could on the song he let A Great Big World do the talking, "Say something I'm giving up on you..."
"Alright Law, we appreciate your cooperation in this event. You have been briefed and you understand the situation. Entertain the guests with your 'one of a kind sound' and if need be..." Law cut off the agent, "Let the good times roll. I got it bud, this isn't my first time singing at a fundraiser of some kind." The Agent grimaced as he adjusted his tie, "Well don't get cocky, we have had many reports about a potential attack. Your reputation better hold up or I will personally place the blame upon your shoulders for the whole fiasco." As the agent brushed off this conversation, as if it was beneath him, Law took a drag of a cigarette outside.

He was used to singing at the Gala's in this end of New York by this point. Was he nervous, naturally, one mess up on his part and he would be ruined. That wouldn't bode well for his family and all of there recent success. Today was a fundraiser brought together by one of the Senator's of New York. Big politicians, celebrities, even the Mayor would be there to show their face's. Law flicked his cigarette at the smoke stack and headed in.

As he made his way through the back hallways he nodded to his band tuning up and getting ready. Well let's just see how this night goes shall we he thought to himself as he made his way onto stage. The introduction was made for the band and the applause as thunderous as he hoped for. His band deserved it for all of there hard work and talent. The mic adjusted and he took a deep breath. "Evening folks, tonight we will be entertaining you with the best of the 50's to today. Starting off tonight I will be singing Sam Smith's "Writing on the Wall."
Name: Lawrence Richards

Age: 24

Appearance:

History: Law was born and raised in New york, City. The entire place was his play ground from day one thanks to his family. If you were ever bored in the Queens area you could always hit up a wonderful club called "Croon-Town". His Mom and Dad owned the club and would always have him in the back because the money they would have to shell out for a day care would be terrible. Don't get the Richards family wrong, Croon-Town did great but some habits held by the family were not advantageous to a great lifestyle. With Tom Richard's gambling problem and his mother Teresa always trying to find successful way's to keep him at home to focus on the club drama would naturally ensue.

When Law turned 15 he started realizing what was happening around him. The caustic environment drove him to try and find many outlets to escape his home. However, he found that the club was actually the town he needed to be in. From a young age he learned he loved to sing. Singing would take his mind away to another place. A place that was far from this chaos. When someone has a gift like that though, other's are bound to notice it as well.

On Law's 17th birthday at Croone-Town he was about to sing one of his favorite songs "L-O-V-E" by Nat King Cole when he noticed a mysterious event occur. Everyone in the establishment froze. Not Frozen with terror but frozen to there spot. Time itself has ceased to move. Before the moment could be fully registered one person began to move. A man who had been sitting at a table in the back the whole time. Black long brimmed hat, darker then night trench coat, blood red tie, and a cane topped with a diamond. This "demonic gentleman" approached him at the stage. "Young man you have a gift, a gift for song, a gift I haven't heard in a long time and well," He brushed some dust that had accumulated on his shoulder, "One that I would hate to see wasted, the name is Jerry." Jerry extended his hand to the boy. Refusing to shake his hand and in utter confusion Law responded, "What the hell is happening and who the hell are you?" A bit of a chuckle came from the "demon's" mouth, "Well I am here to change your stars my boy. Now as you could imagine a man in my position would really want your soul for the gift I am about to bestow upon you." Law began to shake My soul?! My Damn soul!?! What is this? and Jerry then interjected, "Now now no need to let your head spin off your shoulders my boy." Jerry patted Law on the shoulder, "You see down the line I will need a favor, just a simple favor from you, but the gift I offer is much more than the favor I ask." Turning around the demented thing made his way to a chair and sat down. "All I ask of you is to use your gift as you wish until then. Consider it my birthday present to you Mr. 17 year old." How did he know that? Law wondered as he moved slowly toward the man. He wanted to stop but this gift enticed him. Mind racing with all of the possibilities that he would wish to request for. "What can you offer me...Jerry." Law said with hesitation. Jerry smiled and extended his hand, "My boy I want you to sing for the rest of your life. I want you to inspire those around you with your song. I want your voice to become that of legend." Law stopped shaking. Without even a second thought his hand clenched Jerry's hand harder then even he expected. "What is this lack of thought? Normally I get a bit of 'What will it cost me?' or 'What kind of favor?'". It was true this seemed out of character for a person of his position but Law didn't care. He thought to himself, with his love of song combined with a gift from this man that could stop time himself, his stars would truly change. With that maybe his families stars could change too. "I may be naive here but I want any step ahead I could get in this world. If that step could combine with my love of singing. I will take you up on this." Law shook his hand up and down. Jerry smiled from ear to ear, "You've got gumption my boy, I like that about you. I think when this favor comes to pass we could eventually learn to become friends of some kind." Law dropped his hand and looked him dead in the eye, "Just do it." Jerry went wide eyed, cocked his head back, and let out a robust laugh, "As you wish boy...As you wish."

Powers: Law was 17 when he met Jerry and that is when he got his ability to "Sing to influence". Over the years he learned and refined his ability. What it could essentially do is as long as Law sang a song, the type of song would influence the emotions of those around him. He was a people person up to this point so he was always in love with helping others. By singing songs he could help change fighting lover's moods to passion, robbers fury into sadness, and even impossible cynic's into someone who couldn't stop laughing. 25 years old now and him and his song's are one in the same. He was no superhero in the eyes of the main populace but there were whispers of someone known as "The Crooner of Queens".

Dr. Greene was a strange character that's for sure with a smirk he replied to the good Doctor, "No problem at all Doc." Without missing a beat he noticed Jo's question. "You must have read my mind," as he took a few steps away from his room he turned his head and said ,"You two play nice now ya hear?" With one final joke Jo and him began to make there way down the hallway.

You know, jokes can be made toward most people without too much heistation. Xander could make a joke at guards and expect his ass to potentially get beat. Making jokes at other patients, which would be rude but he wouldn't count out the event happening, had almost an infinite number of outcomes Ie: Ass beating, stabbing, shouting, and so on. However, that Dr. Greene fellow doesn't really give off a "simple kind of punishment vibe". He has this sinister aura about him that oozed from every pore. Shaking off the thought he looked at Jo as they made there way down the hall. "So I am guessing you aren't the biggest of checkers fans and just wanted to get the hell out of that situation? Either way you are a life saver." Chuckling to himself
"Jo huh, I like it," nodding his head to her, "Lord knows if I got treats in this place I might shut up a little more." Then Nancy's jelly beans she gave to him came to mind. I guess there are angels here that try and give us stuff to keep us more sane huh?
As he returned his face back to Jo's he replied, "It's hard to not love pups like this guy here more than people. Loyal, energetic, and loving. Well, Ichi here probably has his love side thanks to Joshua being a half decent owner. I guess." Shooting a wink at Joshua.Why do you do every joke that comes to your head huh? Because you think you miss 100% of the shots you don't take? That is supposed to be for other stuff, not jokes stupid. He was making fun of himself in his head, sort of his method of criticising his craft.
These meetings that came over the loud speaker had to make you wonder, on a conspiracy theory level, that some weird things would be discussed around that round table. Round table huh? Very few knights enter that room I would assume. Mostly demons and ghouls stake claim at that table.

Xander perked up to listen to the call over the loud speaker. Another meeting for the staff huh? Probably talking about how to spice up the dinning facility! Oh boy he chuckled to himself as he noticed Jo. "A fellow dog lover I see? Ichi is definitely the most underpaid staff member in this whole facility I would say!" saying as he grinning at the dog, "Aren't you boy? You wanna get a raise don't you? That's right a solid 2 treats an hour would make you work harder huh?"

He had noticed Jo walk the halls before. Never really gotten a chance to talk to her but would always notice her observing the asylum and things going on. "I don't think I have had the pleasure of meeting you yet?" Motioning to Jo, "I'm Xander, but buds like Joshua here call me "People I wish I could be someday"."

@unfallenangel
For the first time in months Xander's eyes lit up. Not everyday in here I get something to brighten myself up so better take advantage thinking to himself as he slowly dropped to one knee so as to not alarm Ichi. "Thank you very much Joshua. This is very kind of you." As he pet the dog memories came flooding back of Pepper. "You are a strong boy aren't you Ichi? Such a reliable guy helping keep Joshua in line huh bud?" laughing to himself as the time stream of the past flowed through his mind.

Drop that Pepper! Come on don't eat that, that belonged to the other Pup! There ya go boy, go get it, good boy! The memories were like happy dreams of simpler times. Pepper was a hand full but he never minded holding all of his personality because of what a companion he had made. Better end this quick before I star tearing up in front of the guard huh? thinking to himself as his eyes began to gloss over a bit. Xander stood and looked at Josh, "Once again thank you very much it brightened my day up Joshua."

@Polaris North
"Keeps ya in good condition to deal with some of these crazies around here am I right?," shooting a smile his way ,"Of course you know I am only kidding, you and Miss Nancy work harder then most in this place. Just thought I would try and turn your little lips into a smile."

Hoping that Joshua would really understand he was being truthful, Xander started slowly pacing in front of the door. Josh here was a tough cookie to crack. Xander really enjoyed getting to know other's that he felt deserved respect, however he knew a guard opening up to a patient would be a hard bargain to snag. "So, quick question for you Josh. What would it take to let me pet old Ichi there?" Throwing his hands up, "I know, I know strange request, and think of it what you will. But I tell ya I truely do miss getting to hang out with pups as much as you get the chance to. Feel free to say no as well, I won't pry."
