Lily was surprised by Alex' sudden transformation, covering his mouth with her hands, and gasped once he realized where he was at.
"Wait, what about the others? We shoul-" She attempted to stand, but then groaned, falling back.
"Ugh, Ixion used up all of my magic...Dammit..." She whimpered, her head lowered. She then heard Alex speak, and lifted her eyes up at him. "Huh? My glasses? I'll be fine, I just...Need to take a minute. That berserk thing...You can blame my patron for it. He meant well, but he doesn't really understand how it's a bad idea to take over somebody's body."
The green-haired girl then sighed, her head low. "Hey, Alex." She then asked in a low voice. "...Thanks for saving me. I thought you died, and..." She blushed, the words too hard to say. "Anyway, I owe you one, but I'm gonna repay you back in full. So don't think I'm not grateful, ok!" Despite her exhausted condition, she still seemed to try andh ave one up on the boy. "Putting that aside, umm, what happened when I was, uhh, out of it?"
Caroline's snarling expression loosened back into childlike wonder, her jaw open once she heard Jillian's words, and her sharp fingernails retracted.
"Happy to see...Caroline?" She asked in a low voice, a bit of drool escaping from the corner of her lips as she slowly drifted closer with her arms down before her.
"Friends... She resembled a lost puppy with the combination of her fangs and the big, gazing eyes.
"Friends...Or dolls?" She extended a finger towards Jillian's hand, and it passed through her palm. Jillian felt a strange, tingling sensation coming from her touching her incorporeal form; unlike a regular human touch, this had far more magical power to it, and stung like a tack.
Next, Caroline moved even closer, until her face was mere inches away from Jillian's own, staring deep into her eyes with twin crimson orbs. Then, she attempted to hug the girl, and as her arms passed through the ghostly girl felt a feeling of nausea, realizing that Caroline's touch was filled with dark, vile magic; A corporeal person would have suffered from her embrace.
"You don't sing," she mumbled to herself.
"Dolls always sing when Caroline plays with them."
Finally, she extended a tongue from between her long fangs, and attempted to lick Jillian's cheek with it, failing once more. The sensation was enough to cause intense discomfort in the twin, sending an icy chill to run through her un-physical spine.
Caroline retreated a couple of meters as she shut her mouth, trembling as she held her hands in fists.
"Dolls give sweet...red...to Caroline..." The girl fidgeted with her arms, breathing heavily with her head down. She seemed to be processing something in her mind.
"You are not...dolls, but..." Her face lifted up, and it was the sweetest, cutest smile the two have ever witnessed from a magical girl.
"...You're Caroline's friends! Yay!" She brought her arms up to her mouth, giggling to herself.
"Caroline is...so happy to have...friends!" She now seemed like any other little girl, laughing and smiling. The ghostly twins seemed to have succeeded in befriending the ominous girl.
