The debriefing was uninteresting in the beginning. Nothing Omega hadn’t just been a part of. He stood in a spot near the middle of the crowd, taking in the words of each member. He heard Raven Tale mention weaknesses, hers being silence. That might explain the music addiction. He didn’t really have any to speak of, so he brushed the question aside. He did however make a mental note to remind the others about his gravity fields. If they were going to fight together, that was definitely going to come into play, and his teammates would have to know how to deal with it.

Omega listened a bit more intently as the conversation turned to Scarlett Shifter. Apparently, she had ended up in bad enough condition to need a doctor. Wall Walker had been roughed up, but not nearly enough to need a doctor. He wasn’t really sure if this was good or bad, though keeping her out of Umbra’s clutches was surely a win for them. The other team worked extraordinarily well together. This gave Omega a bit more hope for the overall group even though he knew how bad things had turned out so far. Most of the damage done on their side was done to the team itself.

Speaking of which, the conversation had turned to Ecto and Wraith’s dilemma. Omega had been preoccupied before when it happened, and he didn’t really see the actual consequences of what Wraith had done while he was inside Walker’s body. Now as he listened, he was thankful that Ecto hadn’t died, and it was thanks to the only one of them who couldn’t actually see him. Ecto had turned the conversation down a different path, questioning Wraith’s true motives.

"Tell me, would you have killed him?"

Omega was really interested now. He would finally get a bit of insight as to what made Wraith tick. He had been watching her through the entire mission, and she looked a lot more shaken up now than when she arrived at the orphanage. He watched her break down a little, looking less like a hard-ass and more like the young girl she really was. It seemed that being part of a team and having everyone scrutinize her actions had caused her to question her morals and her methods.

"If what I did was wrong, if none of them deserved it, then I really am a monster, you know?"

Omega had a solemn look on his face. He had actually been waiting for this moment, not nearly expecting it to be this early on. Wraith, in a way, needed to be rebuilt if she was going to be a functional part of this new team. Addressing all of these issues at the start was invaluable.

“Look, Wraith, you’re not a monster. Misguided, reckless, and even childish...but not a monster. I’m not gonna tell you that any killing you did before was justified. Like we all say, it is a last resort. And even then, it isn’t to be taken lightly. But now that you are starting to see that there’s a different way to operate, we can help you. As a matter of fact, we can all help each other. We’re all so used to doing our own thing and being our own way, and clearly, that mindset doesn’t fly in this new environment. We all signed up for this of our own free will and we have to learn to work together in order to succeed.”

He turned to the cluster of vigilantes that dealt with Scarlett.

“If I’m being honest, the rest of us can learn from you guys. You seem to have come together pretty well already. We need to play off of that and make this team thing happen. Umbra has taken down so many powerful supers already, so we know he can’t be taken down by just one person. And with his army steadily growing, we don’t have a whole lot of time for selfish goals or petty arguments. I joined this team because I believe in what Ditch is fighting for and I believe in the abilities of the people in this room. I’m not gonna let Umbra win and I hope all of you share that same sentiment.”

He wasn’t really expecting to make some grand speech, but after what he had seen in this last mission, he was still slightly on the fence; yet he hoped that something positive would start to show itself and confirm that he made the right choice in partnering with these other vigilantes.

Omega took note of each of his teammates as they filed into the room. He was glad that they all followed his advice. It seemed like a step in the right direction for cooperation, albeit an extremely small step. For Ditch’s sake, he wanted this team thing to work, seeing how much she's risked. He was too noble for his own good sometimes. Why should he even care about Ditch and her plans? Well, for Omega the answer was simple: she’s one of the good guys. His desire to do the right thing all the time might be his downfall one day, but that never stopped him before.

Raven Tale spoke up as she took a seat on the floor.

"Someone, please, explain what happened while we were separated."

“Well, you were there, Raven, when Graffiti attacked Rose. During that I had managed to catch Walker, but Ditch decided to let him go...told me she’d explain.”

He looked down at the still unconscious girl, still puzzled by her true motives.

“While you all were outside, Ditch broke up the fight and kicked Graffiti off the team on the spot. Ditch was beyond pissed. Next thing I know she’s glowing and panicking and running out of the building. And you saw the results of that.”

He turned his head to look at his team. They all looked pretty spent. He studied them as he went back through the mission in his head:

We’ve got a real ragtag bunch here. A blind girl with an extreme amount of determination, from what I’ve seen. And now, I know her as Aurora, the music lover. The things I’ve seen from her in the past couple of days kind of amazes me.

He looked down at her as she hung her head to the side, looking like she just ran a marathon. Seeing her like that made her seem even smaller than she already was and he had a little sympathy for the girl, whom he hoped he could call a friend in the future.

He glanced up at Ecto who was floating next to her and noticed he had a scar on his side. Strangely, it looked pretty fresh, but he couldn’t quite tell through the ghostly glow.

Ghost Boy seems a little lost to me. Like he wants to do well and contribute, but he’s not quite sure how. He has really interesting abilities, though, and could prove to be a great asset.

He then turned his head in Wraith’s direction without fully facing her, not wanting to turn his back on Ditch. Her nose was swollen from the hit she took. She seemed calm, but Omega once again knew that it was an act. She had just had quite the ordeal and no one would be cool and collected after what just happened to her.

This Wraith girl is pretty unstable, but I can tell that a lot of that is maybe confusion or frustration. Perhaps she has something to prove, or maybe she’s just young and dumb and doesn’t know what it really means to help people. Either way, she did refrain from fighting Raven Tale, which tells me that she does have a little sense. Hopefully, she starts using more of it before she ends up in serious trouble.

He turned his attention back to Ditch and sighed. What was he really doing here with these people? Was this really the right thing? It had been such a disaster so far. He wondered if the other team had as much trouble with Scarlet Shifter. A screw-up with someone like Shifter could mean a world of hurt. There was an office chair nearby, and he took a seat and popped in his earbuds, attempting to unwind from some of the craziness that had just ensued.
-------
A while later, Ditch started to stir and Omega took his earbuds out. He leaned forward in his chair with elbows rested on his knees and his fingers clasped. When she arose, she had a sickly look on her face, and he thought she was going to puke right there on the spot. After a failed attempt to stand, she started muttering, clearly unhinged by her current state.

“Okay.. might need someone to hang on too,” she whispered. “We just -- we gotta get back to HQ. I’ll explain everything, really, everything..” Ditch promised again. “The nausea will pass.”

Omega looked around the room at the options and realized that, once again, it would be on him to help her.

“I got you...just don’t throw up on me. Looks like we’re making quite the acquaintance today, Ditch.”

He got up and helped his teammate off the couch, letting her put her weight on his shoulder while his hand was around her waist. He was half expecting her to collapse again before they arrived at HQ.

“I think we should all take separate routes back to HQ. A large group moving together might get noticed. Ditch and I will be alright on our own. Hopefully, she trusts me for that much, at least.”

Since there was still a police presence around the scene downstairs, he found an alternate route out of the building. It was well past the end of the work day and the sun was beginning to set, so the streets weren’t very crowded at all.

They made it back HQ without being followed and Ditch was mostly recovered by that time. Omega then began to assess the renovations that had been made so far, staying within close enough proximity to Ditch to hear her whenever she started debriefing the team.

A look of confusion washed over Omega as Ditch went into panic mode. It seemed he would see something explosive after all, but it looked like Ditch was losing control. He ran after her when she bolted out of the building and stopped right next to Wraith in the doorway with his eyes wide. As soon as Ditch came into his view, he saw nothing but an eruption of white light and bricks. His mind was reeling, trying to process what just happened.

Could she not control that? Did it only activate because she got super pissed? And why wouldn’t she warn us that she had powers that she can’t control? Is there anything else she’s holding back?

Omega ended up with even more questions than he had just a moment ago. He watched as Ditch struggled to walk after the blast. It seemed to have completely drained her. She made her way to the wall and finally collapsed. Gently brushing past Raven Tale and Ecto, he hurried over to her and immediately checked her pulse. Thankfully, she was alive, just unconscious. Whether they only just met or not, he still didn’t want to witness somebody dying right in front of him. He instinctively picked Ditch up and carried her back into the office building, addressing his three teammates as he passed them:

“That blast is definitely going to attract some unwanted attention. I think we should head back into this building, maybe go up a few floors and hide out ‘til Ditch recovers. She shouldn’t be out long.”

He wasn't trying to play commander or anything, but he hoped his fellow vigilantes had the smarts to get off the street before authorities arrived. He walked at a brisk pace despite the extra weight of his teammate and found his way to the staircase. He shouldered the door open and climbed a couple of flights before reentering a few floors above ground level. It was just as dead up here as probably most of the abandoned building, and Omega was silently thankful that there weren’t any homeless people to encounter. Dull light shone through the dust-covered windows and the smell of mold was prominent. He found an old leather couch after a quick search and gently lowered Ditch onto the tattered cushions. He then stood and folded his arms once more, patiently waiting for the girl to wake up.
@Dynamo Frokane
You're not out of the woods yet. :P Team Walker's waiting on Graffiti. No rush, though...I'm not the GM ^_^

Still standing with his arms folded, Omega watched intently as the conversation between Wall Walker and Ditch went on. It was extremely casual and he concluded that they definitely had known each other. In fact, it almost felt like they had quite a close relationship...and not just with each other, but Hummingbird? And the comments about their age...those are the kinds of things you might say to a sibling. His own brother had thrown around the age card more times than he could count. Also, she did make a good point about the money. People don't rob banks only to hoard the money or give it away…

“I swear to god I’ll explain everything as soon as I possibly can, Omega.”

Oh, yes hell you will.

“I’ve got a goddamn fight to break up.”

His gaze shot over to Graffiti who was still on the ground recovering from her faceplant. He followed Ditch from a distance back to where the confrontation had gone down and he could tell this was not going to end well. When Ditch scooped Graffiti up with her eyes glowing, he raised an eyebrow. If he was ever unsure that she had any powers, all of that had quickly gone out the window. He watched in anticipation, fully expecting something explosive, but Ditch showed incredible restraint and allowed Graffiti to bow out gracefully.

This Ditch girl is full of surprises and secrets. As a vigilante, I understand the need for secrecy...but if she plans on everyone being a team, she’s gonna have to give some of that up. She’s already got way more on us than we have on her, and that needs to even out quick.

He took another look around the room at the state of Ditch’s ‘team’ and, for a moment, considered whether or not this was something he wanted to be a part of. It was conflicts like these that made Omega want to work alone in the first place.

I knew there would be hiccups when this thing got off the ground, but I never imagined it would get this bad. We have a lot of shaping up to do if we are to effectively deal with Umbra. Otherwise...

Omega smirked as his well-timed orb grabbed Walker before he could escape. As he was sliding backward, Ditch appeared behind Omega just out off range of the gravity field.

“...Nate?!”

Omega’s brow furled and he turned his head halfway in her direction, not wanting to completely lose sight of Walker. It wasn't a total surprise for Ditch to know someone's identity, but the way she called him by name was a bit puzzling.

“Omega -- turn it off!”

He turned his head fully toward her now. She actually sounded concerned for Walker, despite the distortion of her voice modulator. He frowned in frustration and whipped back around to face the vortex. With a wave of his hand, the orb instantly dissipated and the force along with it. The ball of office junk that had collected fell in a loose pile onto the floor directly behind Walker. Omega let go of the Grim and marched his way over to Ditch.

“So, what, are we just letting him go? Then, why the hell did we chase him in the first place? Did you actually just gather this whole team just to say ‘Oh, by the way...Umbra’ and then let that be it? What's really going on here, Ditch?”

Omega stood with his arms folded and wore a look of irritation at what a confused mess this mission had turned out to be.
@Blaine Crommet
I love how Ecto just talked to Raven Tale's wraith like it was a buddy of his, and Omega freaked the f**k out. XD
Anyone of y'all having Discord trouble?

Son of a bitch!

Walker had gone with the ol’ Human Shield move and had Ditch take the bulk of the blast. Luckily, it wasn't meant to do much damage - more of a hard push than anything - but after that blow Ditch took to the gut, she had to be feeling it.

Meanwhile, Graffiti had really just said ‘fuck everything’ and decided to actually attack Rose. Omega had seen Black Rose fight before and he knew Graffiti was about to get shown something. He wasn't really sure how all of this would affect her position on the team, but he also didn't have time to worry about that now.

We're in a fight now, Wraith, keep Raven Tale and Omega off my back if they try and get involved, this is between me and the 'Pretender' Black Rose.

His eyes quickly darted back to where Raven was standing. Now that he knew she was Aurora, he was going to make doubly sure that Wraith didn't shove her hand into Raven’s chest, too. Her creepy bride demon was back out and she stood ready for a fight. However, Wraith seemed to have come to her senses.

I guess after getting her clock cleaned, she's decided on a different approach. Looks like all the crazy is on Sk8r Gurl.

He turned his attention back to the fleeing Wall Walker as Graffiti ate the floor a few feet next to him. He looked back at Ditch once more, needing to make yet another split-second decision: see if Ditch was alright or go after Walker. He really didn't want to leave Ditch hanging, but it was her objective to get to Walker in the first place. Walker needed to know that, despite the chaos, they were on his side. If this guy could cause this much damage to the team on his own, Omega didn't even want to imagine what he could do with Umbra’s little army backing him. With an audible, aggravated groan, Omega took off after Walker and was apparently accompanied by Raven Tale’s Grim. He sprinted through the empty office building, dodging pillars and cubicles, and kept his eyes on the Grim, not wanting to lose Walker’s trail. Then, Omega spotted him just as he was nearing the outer wall.

“Not this time!”

Omega formed a small purple-black orb of zero-point gravity and fast-balled it toward Walker. It stopped several feet behind him and Omega skidded to a halt. Then, the orb immediately began attracting everything within close proximity to itself, sending office chairs and loose particles flying through the air to collect at the central point of the orb. He caught the Grim as it flew past, not wanting it to get sucked in as well. He hoped this would catch Walker in time to prevent him from going back outside.

I am confuzzled. I thought Ecto was intangible in spectral form...?
