Ah, your welcome. Glad to have you.
Right, as Assallya says, the role play is up on the free role play page.
The tale begins when a hulking man half clothed in the furs of a Smilodon opened the saloon like doors and barged his way into the Shit Faced Tavern drawing the eye of many of the patrons within, at least the ones not preoccupied by the bard music and the Tavern whores. The man was huge, about seven feet tall in height, with long blonde hair and an equally blonde and long braided beard. The man was muscular, in fact he was positively ripped. His body was lined with painted tattoos of serpents and dragons and on his back was a positively massive great sword. The man moved with purpose wasting no time in approaching the counter and talking to the Tavern owner.

"Welcome to to the Shit Faced Tavern where we hope you'll spend a little time, buy a little beer, and get shit faced drunk. Can I interest you in some food or drink? We also have women who'll keep you company tonight for a few extra coins," said the Bartender in his Teutonic accent in an amiable but straight foreword manner.

"I will have some pork, and a large jug of mead, and then we will exchange words, for I have need of information," the barbarian replied before sitting down in front of the Tavern owner and plopping a bag of gold on the table.

"You heard the man," the Tavern owner said to a tavern wench nearby, "pork and mead." He then turned to the barbarian, "so you need information? What kind of information?"

"I'm looking for a man named Maximillian, an elven mage with the blood of many hundreds on his hands. He is a sadist and worshiper of the mad god Loki. He often walks the earth dressed like a Jester spreading horror, misery, and death wherever he walks. I am a mercenary by the name of Hrothgar, and a very powerful man has paid me to bring him his head," the barbarian responded.

The Tavern owner went bone white and started trembling before he regained his composure, "... I'll tell you what I know, but it'll cost you."

Hrothgar pulled out an even bigger bag of coin and plopped it on the table, "tell me everything."

(OOC: Not a very good first post but I haven't done this in a while.)

This is a free form fantasy role play which will basically work like this. You can create any type of character you want. They can be of any race, class, background, religion or nation of origin you can imagine. The characters will first meet in a tavern and from there we create the setting, world, monsters, villains, and story lines as we go along. This is basically a true sandbox fantasy role play where you the player create the adventure. You are not limited to one character, and are free to create many characters if you so please. As we are going along, you can create NPCs and villains as well. Collaboration within the OOC for creating the world is encouraged. In this role play, you will not have to go through character creation and can just start posting as the character of your choice, and can reveal their backstory as time goes on. Remember to be as creative as you wish. I will start the story by having my character enter the Tavern. If you want to play in the game it would be nice if you hopped in and said hi to everyone. You can also post your character in the character section if you so wish.

Rules

1. No perfect or overpowered characters
2. No taking control of other peoples characters.
3. I am the final word on everything. I am all powerful.
4. Keep it pg 13 on the sex
5. Have Fun.

This seems interesting. I would join. Since this is obviously fantasy being that mages are in it, are humans the only race playable? And those nations you can lord over; are they all pseudo European nations or can someone get creative like having Aztec nations, or Arab, Japanese, Tibetan, or what have you?
Each will control the baddies and minions they create unless I take control of them.
So my idea is to have a completely free form fantasy role play where we literally make everything up as we go along. Basically we each create a character of whatever race or creature we can dream up with whatever backstory we can dream up with whatever class or fighting style, gods, country of origin or any detail which fits our fancy. We start the game in a tavern and meet there and from then on we just create our story, villains, and details of the world as we go along.
I'm excited for this. It would still be an amazing idea even without the fantasy elements.

Yes, I'm thinking of keeping the fantasy elements a bit more subtle than I'd originally intended. Still, I don't know if we're going to get enough people to do this. Lets hope we do.
Alright, so I'm revising what I wrote in the General interest check because I think that this would be better, and to see if anyone's interested. The idea is that the players are people who are taking a commercial airliner to Europe on Christmas day but then some kind of freak storm comes out of no where and crashes the plane. Everyone on the plane dies except the role players. When the role players get out of the plane they find that they have traveled back in time to Christmas day in 800 AD the year that Charlemagne is crowned by the Pope as Emperor of Rome, the first emperor in the west for hundreds of years.

The gist of the role play is that the role players would have to survive in the this era. Now, a lot of interesting things were going on during this time period. The viking age had just begun and vikings were sacking England, France, Ireland, Scotland, and Byzantium. During this time England was separated into seven kingdoms ruled by the Anglo Saxons which were a Germanic people with a culture very similar to the vikings. Back then the Irish were still living in the same way their ancestors had been living for thousands of years and the eastern Roman Empire was still alive and kicking in Greece and Turkey. Down south the threat of the powerful and vast Islamic Caliphate always loomed over Europe and Spain was still under Moorish control. In this role play I will differ from my interest check in the general forum in that we'll try to be as realistic with the setting as possible while still making allowances for the stories' sake. I'm thinking that any historical inaccuracies will be accounted for by this role play being in an alternate history to our own so any poetic license can be hand waved away, but there will be a real attempt to keep it historically accurate.

The final thing is that this will be a fantasy role play. In this story the gods and monsters of Europe and beyond fairies, dragons, goblins, trolls, giants, ogres, mermaids, dwarfs, werewolves, vampires, unicorns and pretty much any being you'd see in a medieval bestiary or a Castlevania game, or a Chivalric romance exist. Also the religions are true as well, so Christianity and Roman Catholicism as well as the gods and stories of the Vikings are absolutely true. So I'm thinking of an epic role play were the heroes are men out of time fighting monsters, vikings, knights, and demons in Dark Ages Europe. If you're interested comment and I'll start working on the story.

This is an interest check for this Roleplay

The Age of Castles, Knights, and Magic: Medieval Fantasy Self Insert Roleplay
by Aspie3000
Introduction

You are you, the real you in real life. You have boarded a plane headed to Europe
for vacation along with the rest of the people in this roleplay. On your way there the plane is
hit by a raging storm which seemed to have come from nowhere out of a clear sky. The
plane crashes and most everyone on board is dead, except for you and the other roleplayers.
You find that you have crashed into a forest in the mountains which appear similar to the
Swiss alps and your adventure begins. What you will find is that that the plane has crashed
into some alternate facsimile of the dark ages, 800 AD in fact. In this time in our real world
Charlemagne ruled and empire that stretched from France, to Germany, to Italy. At this time
what would become England was separated into seven Anglo Saxon Kingdoms each ruled
by a warrior king. At this time the Vikings raided from the seas in their longboats and
Ireland was still divided into tribal clans. However though this dimension resembles 800
AD something is off about it. The names and personalities of the kings and persons are
wrong. The borders are not entirely right, the names of the kingdoms and tribes are
different. The Holy Roman Empire of Charlemagne analog though being in the early
Middle Ages has technology which mirrors more closely the High Middle Ages such as
stone castles and knights in shining armor... and most importantly magic exists along with
all the myths and monsters of Europe and beyond. This is not our world, our history, our
reality, this is the world of Castles, Knights, and

Story

Basically the idea of this roleplay is that it's a self insert roleplay where the players
are transported to an alternate dimension which resembles a fantasy version of the Dark
Ages in 800 AD but with magic and monsters. Why you've been transported there is a
mystery which will be solved later, but there will be a villain in it or maybe several which
has to be stopped. I made it a fantasy world so we wouldn't have to stick exclusively to
history or even geography. Eventually in the story we could travel beyond Europe as well to
Africa, the Americas, and Ancient China but first we'll be in Europe.

Relevant Kingdoms of the Dark Ages

Holy Roman Empire- The Holy Roman Empire, also called the Frankish Empire is
ruled by king Charles the First a Frankish King very much like our Charlemagne. The Holy
Roman Empire stretches across the countries of Europe we would know as France,
Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, and the Netherlands and called Holy because it's the
empire which protects the Catholic church, Roman because the Pope has crowned king
Charles as the emporer of Rome, and an empire because it is vast. The empire is an empire
which is bilingual with the western half speaking vulgar latin, and the easter half speaking a
Germanic language. The people of the empire are mostly of the Catholic religion but some
outlaws in the wilds of the Germanic provinces worship Odin, Thor, and the old Gods of the
Germanic people. The Holy Roman Empire is Feudal is nature with castles, knights in
shining armor, and aristocrats called counts ruling over various duchies.

Al Andalus- Al Andalus is basically Moorish Spain.

The Empire of Scandinavia- In this roleplay Scandinavia, Norway, Sweden, and
Denmark as well as the Orkney Isles of Scotland are united under one great Viking king
called Ragnar Sigurdson. This kingdom is a kingdom of the Vikings and is pretty much set
up along Germanic lines as far as government goes with kings ruling the place, Jarls ruling
under him, and the rest of the viking freemen serving under them. This empire worships the
old Gods of the Scandinavian people and are dedicated to destroying the Holy Roman
Empire in revenge for the bloody verdict of Verden for which many Odin worshiping
Saxons were forced to convert or die by king Charles.

England- England is separated into seven Anglo Saxon Kingdoms run in pretty much thre
same way that Scandinavia is run because the Anglo Saxons are also a Germanic people.
However the kingdoms of England are Christian.

Scotland- Scotland is separated into two warring kingdoms of Celts, the Picts in the east,
and the Irish Dal Riata in the west. These two kingdoms are mortal enemies.

Ireland- Ireland is a Gealic speaking land of clans, tribes and hillforts. It is Catholic and
seperated into four kingdoms which are Ulster, Leinster, Connought, and Munster. Every
once in a while one kingdom defeats the others and one man becomes high king of Ireland.

The Byzantine Empire- The Byzantine Empire is the last surviving remanennt of the
Roman Empire and it still calls itself the Roman Empire. Byzantine Empires stretches from
Greece to Turkey and is eastern orthodox in religion. There is fear among the Muslim world
that Empress Iona may marry King Charles of the Holy Roman empire bringing back
through their marriage a revived Christian Roman Empire.

The Slavs- East of the Holy Roman Empire and north of the Byzantine Empire live many
vast confederations of wild pagan slavic speaking people.

below is a map of the real 800 AD to give you an idea of the general lay of the land.
