Neb’cezi
Name: Neb'cezi (Neb)
Race: Twi'lek
Age: 25-30 (Not sure)
Gender: Female
Appearance: Like most twi’lek’s, Neb is of a slender build and average height, maxing out at about 5’7” and 130lbs. Her skin is a dark teal, with lekku that reach down to the small of her back, while her eyes are a rich emerald green.
For clothing she favours slim cut pants and military-style boots to hide her prosthetic legs, and a fitted button up shirt under a waist length coat. She keeps her pistol in a leather chest rig on her left side, her rifle slung over her back when not needed, and her blade in a small-of-back sheath. Her other various odds and ends, she keeps in a thigh bag that’s strapped to her right thigh.
Personality:Friendly and up beast mostly, she does her best to not let the galaxy get her down and takes things as they come. That said, she has a cold and hard spot in her heart of slavers and pirates.
Occupation: Gun-for-hire, anti-pirate/slaver contractor.
History: Neb doesn’t really know her early life; while the memories may be there, they’ve been repressed and she has no intention of digging them up. What she does know is that she was born a slave to some minor crime lord in the Outer Rim, and that she got ‘lucky’ in the fact that her Master didn’t like his females that young. Instead she was sent into the maintenance sheds and earned her keep from an early age worming her way into machinery to help fix things that her ‘bosses’ couldn’t get to. This did have the positive effect of them having to teach her to read, write and do math so that she could do her job better, and by the time she was old enough that her Master might want her as a ‘dancer’, she’d proved herself to be too valuable where she was to waste her shaking her ass on a stage.
That said, when a merc ship on the pay role of a nearby Republic world captured the smuggling vessel she’d been assigned to, she was more than happy to go with them. Neb was still quite young, and this band of hardened mercs took a liking to her right away (especially after she fixed an issue with the atmo-scrubber in 10 minutes, while they’d been fighting with it for weeks). While they reported the successful interception of the smuggling ship, they neglected to mention the young captive on board and thus Neb became the mascot/daughter/little sister of ‘Orion Security Contracting’.
Her family in OSC taught her how to shoot, hack and fight as well as the more mundane but essential educational bits. Life was hard at times, but good…but eventually things change and even the toughest can’t out run time. Eventually the older members decided to retire, and leading Neb to head off and make her own way.
Five cycles ago, she was badly wounded while leading a team on a hostage retrieval. The son of a prominent Republic industrialist had been kidnapped and held for ransom; while the government dithered about wither or not to pay, the Industrialist Jel’tha Raan, hired the group Neb led to rescue him.
In addition to the promised credits, Mrs. Raan bought the prosthetic legs Neb now uses as a sincere thank you for her efforts and as an apology for being injured on her behalf. Neb was very grateful…and is still annoyed with herself of falling for such a basic trip wire trap.
Equipment
- Sonn-Blas F-11D Blaster Rifle
- LPA NN-14 Blaster Pistol
(Neb has modified and updated both weapons as much as possible. While they may be vintage, they can still pack a punch.) - 6” Vibroblade
- Lock bypass tools (For both manual and powered locking systems)
Skills
Open Fire: Her family that made up OSC, made sure from day one that she knew how to handle a blaster, and constant training with her NN-14 and F-11 have made her rather proficient in their use.
Duct Tape and Zip Ties: She can fix pretty much any part of a starship, speeder or any other mechanical device you care to name. It may not be pretty, but it’ll work…most of the time.
Leaf on the Wind: As part of her OSC ‘life skills’ she was taught how to pilot a variety of small craft, something she’s shown some talent for. She can fly pretty much anything…probably…you may want to buckle up.
Weaknesses
Can They See Me? They Can See Me!: Her legs, while they’re great because she can walk again, have a tendency to trip more sophisticated security systems…makes sneaking into places you’re not wanted a bit of a pain.
Let’s Go!: Ever since her rescue, Neb has had a hard time sitting still when there’s a task to accomplish…even if sitting still is the most useful thing to be doing.
Too Tight: Getting stuffed into tight machine spaces at a young age did wonders to develop her claustrophobic tendencies. As long as she can’t touch all four walls of a room at once she should be okay…mostly.
Another One: You can’t drown bad memories in alcohol, but she’s willing to give it a damn good try.
