Bio

I won't write much here.

  • I teach violin for a living. And I'm not taking on any new students right now.
  • I'm romantically involved.
  • Most of my statuses will be about the above two, venting or gloating. Unless something addresses you directly, it's not about you.
  • I don't feel comfortable saying my age, but if you're really that concerned, I'm the same age as Shostakovich was when he wrote his most ridiculous opera.
  • I am a fan of the Wheel of Time, and am working on an RP which will take place during the Trolloc Wars. If you're interested, join. Note that even people who have no idea what on earth WoT is can participate in the thing.
  • I am from and currently live in Charleston. I can see the Two Rivers from my doorstep.
  • I am currently unable to type properly, so I apologize for that. It will make a lot of my responses late, and has already caused a lot of my responses to be late. I have semi permanent splints on my pinkies and thumbs: silverringsplint.com
    • I will try to respond IC on time in all of my RP's, however, until my finger issues are resolved, the OOC and PMs may be late, by days... or weeks. Sorry.

@Tangletail I mean, a nerdy kid who had never held a sword in his life was able to take down a Trolloc, so I'm sure a prepared fighter could do the same. It's up to you guys to determine your characters' strengths and abilities, and to create equivalent weaknesses.

(I watched FMA for the first time a few months back, so I've been incorporating the whole equivalent exchange thing into everything.)
Alrighty guys, for clarification:

  • I am always willing to discuss things.
  • I am always willing to compromise.
  • I am always willing to provide explanations.
  • I am always willing to work out ideas.
  • UNLESS I have already said no. If I have said no, that is final.

In addition:

  • I am a hardass when it comes to character creation.
  • I am also a hardass when it comes to worldbuilding.
  • However, during the actual RP, anything can happen. I challenge you to be as ridiculous as possible within the preset constraints of the characters you've created and the world we're writing in. Examples:
    • If someone had their character defeat hundreds of Trollocs in a blast of the One Power, we'd know their strength level, and we'd know if drawing that much of the One Power in would burn them out, or kill them, or if it would be something that they could handle.
    • Someone could do something super ridiculous and call in a Raken from seemingly nowhere, cool. I'll then have an army of Seanchan appear, to make it make sense.
    • You want to go to Tel'aran'rhiod? Go for it. We'll figure out the consequences as we go.
  • Anything can happen once we've established character and setting.
  • I encourage ridiculous stuff, because it challenges me as a GM.
@Damiann47 It's only been like 18 posts back and forth, that's not a very long fight. Or maybe I'm just used to different conventions on other sites... sorry.
@Damiann47 The battle ended- Kaito stalked out when he saw that Grey was resting, and Grey stood up too fast and fainted.
She'd be able to do the super cool mysterious creepy glide thingy, you know, that ghosts and nuns and stuff do:

(and I mean, with the latest post, I established that she can be a bit of a drama queen, lol...)
Quick question, do Heely's or an equivalent exist in this world?
The Shadow Kaito lowered his swords, and walked forward to the edge of the circle. Staring after its opponent, it dropped its swords, and disappeared, letting out a sigh like hissing steam. Grey had been observing through the shadows, watching through the eyes of her creatures. At the sudden change, Grey sat up, and her pillow and knives disappeared. Frowning, she watched as Kaito stalked out of the ring. After a moment of confusion, she pushed herself to her knees. With difficulty, she tried to stand up. An extended yawn escaped from her lips, her eyes fluttered, and she collapsed to the ground.

The energy it had taken to maintain the Shadow Kaito- to even create it and the other creatures in the first place- was more than the girl could actually manage. That, coupled with her intense exhaustion, and the blood loss incurred from her rope-like burns on her hands, caused her loss of consciousness. She crumpled, hitting the floor with a sickening crunch. Her hood fell over to cover her face.

The other creature, the dilapidated and monstrous figure, gradually shrank to the size of a kitten, hanging on to its form just long enough to crawl over to Grey, and curl up beside her. It dissipated into the air, like its fellow.

@InfiniteEmbers Except she's not in a constant state of regeneration; her body only begins to heal itself when she should have died. And a supernatural force isn't the same as a physical death, so her body wouldn't need to heal itself, so nothing would happen. She's got no soul, no life force, I would argue- she should have died a hundred times over at this point. So there's nothing to take, I think- how would that work?

EDIT: Unless, somehow, he instead took her pain away, even temporarily, and gained from that, rather than life force or whatever you want to call it?

@InfiniteEmbers Idk how the GM will like that- to me it sounds like a lovely idea, except that interactions with my character may be... weird. I don't know how that would work. We'd need to figure that out.
"Well... I guess Grey actually decided to take a nap"

Lol, yes, yes she did. Thanks for noticing, @Damiann47.

(also I love the dynamic between Gareth and Silvia)
